Who was Machiavelli and what does RP say about him?

I've heard he was a bad guy and I've heard Ron Paul talk about him but don't know why? Can anyone help?

Ron Paul noted the Neoconservatives subscribe to this ethos. Hence you can't believe a word they say. Like Soviets or Nazis, they will justify their lies - the means to their ends.
