In part 6 of this series, Stossel and guests take on the gross misconception of electing anyone "to run the country".
Ironically, while Ron Paul was still running, I suggested more than once that Walter E. Williams, should be considered as his VP choice. When you listen to Williams in this interview, go back to the interview Stossel did with RP, ( http://www.youtube.com/wa... ), and imagine what this piece would have been like if it had been done with the two of them instead of the other economist.
And imagine, also, what a powerful choice for real change we would have in the midst of this political and economic travesty, if these two men were heard and heeded by the masses, regardless of whoever is elected!

I would love to see Ron Paul and Walter E. Williams address the current economic/political crisis together, as their shared foundation beliefs, candor, sense of humor, and even racial diversity would certainly make them a tough combination to beat, however the election turns out.

I just contacted the editor of this website and figured I'd follow up your request as well.
I posted this special on youtube on Friday night after the broadcast primarily because I knew that ABC had only wanly promoted the special _and_ certain ABC affiliates in the country had refused to carry it. This is a right that local affiliates can but rarely do exercise. It doesn't take much speculation to figure out why they might have.
Anyway, I do have the show in its entirety without commercials and in full DVD quality if you guys are interested in copies. I could make this available for distribution if interested. Just let me know -- I'd be glad to help, and I think it would help spread Ron Paul's message about liberty and limited government better than most anything coming out of the MSM!

What an excellent program. 20/20 was one of my favorite shows until I started mistrusting the main stream media and turned off my TV. I would have however dusted off my tube for this show. I'm surprised this was aired. I'm sure the White House won't be too pleased if they get an "air" of this show, after all King George the 4th is the "decider". I have now added Sheila Jackson Lee to my congressional shit list after her infamous "you better not push us" response. She needs to be thrown out of office er I mean voted out of office.

my brain always comes back
my brain always comes back to the core message of this show (I of course came to same conclusions that the show did, a long time ago).
that core message is multifaceted, but in part it stresses how the government SHOULDN'T be involved.
now I know I'm preaching to the choir.
but I sense that some of you don't really latch on to that fact.
i still see posts trying to convince me that I should support this person, or that person, or this thing or that thing....all to further our movement.
i don't think that really hits home with me.
when the majority of us recognize that WE make america great, and WE get things done...not the politicians, not government
then it won't matter who is president, because they will be a reflection of us.
we have to educate people one by one.

It's about changing people's view of what the role of government ought to be. One by one, we'll win this thing.
When Obama gets elected, we'll have a much more receptive audience to our message of freedom and constitutional government because everyone's quality of life will keep going down... Not to mention the impending collapse of our dollar. The chips are going to fall and hopefully we'll be the ones to put them back together properly.
