This past summer I briefly met a gentleman in Chicago who was obviously a well-educated foreigner, and said some very positive words about my Ron Paul bumper sticker... so we discussed politics for a time then I asked why he had moved to the US from his home country of Brazil?
His response was quite shocking... the 1960's Kennedy administration initiated a coup against the democratic Brazilian government at that time. He lost his brother who was an attorney before the US backed coup (the brother was tortured/died in custody by new Government militia) and he has not been back to Brazil in 40 years.
As I felt honored to hear his personal story, I am adding this information to the DailyPaul forum so I feel free to discard the little note he wrote for me; Read What Uncle Sam Really Wants' and look for page 31-32 on 'BRAZIL'
I found that online at this site and a quick search for "Brazil" will bring one to the intended section which is actually starts on page 19 in this Free Online Version:
Fascinating how our leaders sure seems scary when viewed from the eyes of foreigners... first overthrowing their governments then ruling by business and banking... When will 'we the people' take it back so we can all follow the higher path?
Thanks for that little piece of the puzzle, Aires... Here's hoping that my country stops doing that to other countries in the future, and that it also does not happen to US by some foreign nation!
I'm not usually a Chomsky fan, but perhaps we are all on to something when the Libertarians agree with Leftists on foreign policy and monetary issues?
PS - Oh, part of that Chomsky piece on Brazil reminds me of this clip from the "pinky show" on the IMF:

I haven't read the note
yet. My initial thought after reading your post is that we the American People are getting ready to understand first hand how he and perhaps his brother (with all due respect) felt during the 60's. What the US Gov has been doing to third world nations (as in Confessions of Economic Hit Man) they have also been doing to us slowly over time. The quickening is here and things are changing fast. They have had lots of practice with smaller opponents to prepare for the Heavy Weight Contender in the red/white/blue trunks.
