I have a serious question... does the movie "Blindness" have any subliminal messages?

Be assured that their movies are full of subliminal messages.

Our elections are fixed and 90% of the media is owned by five guys. Our president starts wars whenever he wants and the fed sets off economic crisis' on cue.

Why the hell wouldn't they have movies with subliminal messages.

Yes, the subtle and not-so-subtle political messages we see in our movies could be the result of some kind of generations-old conspiracy to prepare mankind for subjugation. Or it could be the case that in 2008, most moviegoers are sympathetic to pro-centralization, anti-liberty messages, and the market gives them what they want. At the end of the day, it's totally irrelevant, since both situations have the same cure.

Educate people about the philosophy of liberty. Educate yourself as well, so that you are well equipped to educate others.

Remember that this is a battle of ideas, first and foremost.

A few weeks ago I received a package in the mail with two thin plastic sunglass type items that you unroll and the sort of cling to your face. In the package was also a postcard size piece of thick paper with the text "I am Blind" on it with braille below it.

Very strange.

A bit of searching turned up that it was some sort of marketing campaign for the movie. Was really weird, though, when I found a few related sites and there were people posting that they could not see but that some girl could. Ended up spanning several different websites and forums.

Anyhow, not sure about the subliminal stuff...

On an up note, did anyone see the most subliminal of all "rise up and over throw your government" message in this kid movie? The monster, Eva, a female Frankenstein with just one evil bone that hadn't been activated upon her creation= Lady Liberty herself, and the many nationalities that formed to create her. She is befriended by a critter that has been made immortal= the spirit of the true patriot that will never die, and another creation which is a preserved brain critter, which can't spell= current dumbed down generation but meant to remind us what our brains and spirit can actually accomplish.

Anyway, the character IGOR= all of us, and the movie basically urges all us IGORS to rise up and realize that the overlords who spew that they have our best interests at heart are actually the ones who are making all the problems, ruling by fear and so on. The message was so painfully obvious that it is up to each of us to do our part to shed truth and light so that the sun can come out tomorrow for our country and our world.

If you haven't seen it, give it a go and look for all the symbolism in this movie. You will be amazed. I really loved the jab at how the T.V. is a "brainwashing machine" and that the effects are irreversible for life!

Movie about Big Pharma experiments on military troops. A drug which makes them killing machines...awful side effects.

Not a great movie..but that same 'ole "sub theme".

I haven't seen "W" but I heard it causes empathy toward Bush's plight.

All movies 'n television shows are suspicious now-a-days! Any time there are flashes, flashes may actually have its own sleeping hypnotic effect by itself. Then there "may" also be subliminal messages within the flashes.

Any time they are changing scenes they could hide something subliminal and these scene changes could possible have a hypnotic effect as well.

Note: These shows, movies now-a-days all have the, a drug effect instilled in there nature. These are things being "seen" that once-upon-a-time were only experienced by drug users, of course there only visual verses visual and under the influence of the actual drugs, but the effect is somewhat still there.

For research: You could download a movie trailer and convert the video to images frame by frame, 'n take a peek. May be someone here much better than I that could give some more info.

Blindness (Portuguese: Ensaio sobre a cegueira, meaning Essay on Blindness) is a novel by Portuguese author José Saramago. It was published in Portuguese in 1995 and in English in 1997. It is one of his most famous novels, along with The Gospel According to Jesus Christ and Baltasar and Blimunda.

Saramago received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1998.

Blindness is a riveting, although I found slow-paced, story. There is a sequel titled Seeing. I have not read the sequel, but here is a link for someone who has read and commented upon it:

The film is Canadian and the director (I believe it was the director, not the producer) worked many years to get Saramago's permission to turn his novel into a film.

Folks who want to learn more can readily learn about Saramago's history, style, philosophy, etc. with a simple Google search.

But the brothers who did the Matrix did V for Vendetta, and they were about challenging the system, to look beyond everyday life and see that things are not what they seem. People think the Matrix was about robots controlling humans, but it was more like the machine of control!
