Karl Marx wrote that to communize a country you need:
- A graduated income tax.
- A national education system.
- A central Bank (competition is a sin).
Do you know any countries that have this??
We have a constitution that does not allow any of these things.
There were 10 or 12 planks that Karl Marx"s said needed to be put in place. Do any of you remember any of the other planks?

10 Planks to the Communist Manifesto ...
Are posted on my Blog...

Liberty is our campaigns gift to the world it is our manifest destiny.
Freedom is a movement who's time has come. Our campaign will lead world wide freedom.
Too much medicine turns into poison.
Communism is what happens when socialism reaches it's inevitable extreme. When the State grows so large, controlling every aspect of our lives or our children's lifes the result will be the collapse of the State and Communism will be the result. This is not because people still won't desire private property, but without the State there will be not protection by the State of private property.
Communism is equal to anarchy in the sense that there is an absence of government and the State.
The U.S. government beginning during the Progressive era has been increasing the authority and power of the State. We have a Constitution which was laid out to controll the size and aspect of the State and government, but it has been ignored. If we do not return to limited government by following the Constitution then the State will grow and grow. Those in power will empower some to produce and prevent others from producing. Which is exactly what we see today. Corporations are nothing more than an extention of the Progressive movement. Even Henry Ford was a notable progressive thinker. Not that everything about the Progressive movement has been bad, but in excess it becomes a poison.

We're Very Close to Full Implementation - Here in the U.S.S.A.
1. Abolition of private property and the application of all rent to public purpose.
The 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution (1868), and various zoning, school & property taxes. Also the Bureau of Land Management.
2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.
Misapplication of the 16th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, 1913, The Social Security Act of 1936.; Joint House Resolution 192 of 1933; and various State "income" taxes. We call it "paying your fair share".
3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance.
We call it Federal & State estate Tax (1916); or reformed Probate Laws, and limited inheritance via arbitrary inheritance tax statutes.
4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.
We call in government seizures, tax liens, Public "law" 99-570 (1986); Executive order 11490, sections 1205, 2002 which gives private land to the Department of Urban Development; the imprisonment of "terrorists" and those who speak out or write against the "government" (1997 Crime/Terrorist Bill); or the IRS confiscation of property without due process.
5. Centralization of credit in the hands of the State, by means of a national bank with state capital and an exclusive monopoly.
We call it the Federal Reserve which is a credit/debt system nationally organized by the Federal Reserve act of 1913. All local banks are members of the Fed system, and are regulated by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).
6. Centralization of the means of communication and transportation in the hands of the State.
We call it the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Department of Transportation (DOT) madated through the ICC act of 1887, the Commissions Act of 1934, The Interstate Commerce Commission established in 1938, The Federal Aviation Administration, Federal Communications Commission, and Executive orders 11490, 10999, as well as State mandated driver's licenses and Department of Transportation regulations.
7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the State, the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.
We call it corporate capacity, The Desert Entry Act and The Department of Agriculture. As well as the Department of Commerce and Labor, Department of Interior, the Evironmental Protection Agency, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, Bureau of Mines, National Park Service, and the IRS control of business through corporate regulations.
8. Equal liability of all to labor. Establishment of Industrial armies, especially for agriculture.
We call it the Social Security Administration and The Department of Labor. The National debt and inflation caused by the communal bank has caused the need for a two "income" family. Woman in the workplace since the 1920s, the 19th amendment of the U.S. Constitution, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, assorted Socialist Unions, affirmative action, the Federal Public Works Program and of course Executive order 11000.
9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the population over the country.
We call it the Planning Reorganization act of 1949 , zoning (Title 17 1910-1990) and Super Corporate Farms, as well as Executive orders 11647, 11731 (ten regions) and Public "law" 89-136.
10. Free education for all children in government schools. Abolition of children's factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, etc. etc.
People are being taxed to support what we call "public" schools, which train the young to work for the communal debt system. We also call it the Department of Education, the NEA and Outcome Based "Education".

didn't
naomi wolf in THE END OF AMERICA prove ten points that were they? or at the very least close to them?
There's a video that was
There's a video that was linked on DP within the past week or so, I think, of an interview of some ex KGB agent who defected to the United States. The guy explained how the Soviet Union was spreading communism throughout the world and he said that the wheels were already in motion within the United States. He mentioned that the 10 (or however many) planks within the communist manifesto have already been achieved in the U.S. He also stated that after such time the U.S. would have 15 or so years before being too far gone....
That video was from 1983!!!
I'll post a link to the video if I can find it.

I 1st saw this about 18mo's ago I think. It's an important read.
Human selfishness will always threaten individual freedom.
Human selfishness will always threaten individual freedom. Only personal responsibility stands a chance of protecting freedom. When the state offers to make us dependent who would not be tempted to take the easy way out. Once one becomes comfortable with dependence, how does won win back their independence?
Tax and redistribute, borrow and redistribute or inflate and redistribute, beware of Party promises that steal your wealth only to offer it back to you for a vote.
I've told people in my unit
I've told people in my unit to search for the 10 planks and the comparison to Federal policies. They were very shocked when they read it.
"...mankind are more disposed to suffer [...] than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. [...] It is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."
Senators need to be elected by the state houses
Repeal this change in the constitution that gave the people the vote to elect the senators. Give it back to the states. So they can have their power back.
Senators were not to be representatives of the people they were to be representatives of the states.
Amendment XVII (1913)
The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, elected by the people thereof, for six years; and each Senator shall have one vote. The electors in each State shall have the qualifications requisite for electors of the most numerous branch of the State legislatures.
The original system of having state legislatures elect U.S. senators began to break down with the growth of political parties in the mid-19th century. Disagreements between and within parties produced deadlocks that delayed state legislative business and left states without their full Senate representation, often for lengthy periods. This amendment provides for senators to be elected the way members of the House are—by direct election of the people.
Seems to me a time table could be placed on the states to elect a senator. The states lost their rights whne this amendment was enacted.

There is life at the end of the tunnel my friends!
correct
This was the end of states rights, the only entity in the Constitution other than individuals/people who are recognized to have rights. This was the primary vehicle meant to keep us functioning as a republic, and keep us from moving to full democracy which the founders abhorred.
INTERPRET correctly
PAULS you missed the most important part of your arguement.. FREE education means free from state interference,as in free to teach as your school deems appropriate ..NOT a STATE mandated corriculum...
weee
YES!
That is true for one must first be free in their own hearts before they can participate in a free society. In a free society such mandates would be strongly discouraged.
Curriculum
guess we need more state interference
10. Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children's factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, etc.
Guess who writes our public school curriculum....the labor department
Common good of who: MANKIND or SELF determination ?
THESE are ALL humanism ideas that sound good to those who believe in humans forming their own system to bring all into submission to the whole....ANTI-Individualism
weee
YES I can hear you
THERE was a "communist manifesto" in the 60'swith 10 or 12 articles...The U.S. has addopted most of these now.....
Krushchov said they would bury us without firing a shot ....Well someone is doing a fine job at that.....

Barack Obama: Agent of “More of the Same”

Here is the last word on Marxism. Just the mere recognition of the UN as anything of authority MAKES ONE A MARXIST.
10 Planks of the Communist Manifesto
1.) Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes. (property taxes)
2.) A heavy progressive or graduated income tax. (income tax)
3.) Abolition of all right of inheritance. (they are trying this one!)
4.) Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels. (tax protesters)
5.) Centralization of credit in the hands of the State, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly. (federal reserve system)
6.) Centralization of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the State. (buses, trains, subways etc)
7.) Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the State; the bringing into cultivation of waste-lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan. (environmentalism, buying up property as conservation land, world heritage areas)
8.) Equal liability of all to labour. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture. (wpa)
9.) Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of the distinction between town and country, by a more equable distribution of the population over the country. (UN plan to move us to ’shires’ as in Agenda 21)
10.) Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children’s factory labour in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production (public schools and school-to-work programs already in progress)
Study this well and you will see why we have problems. We already live under Marxism..so Obama is NO agent of change. He’s an agent of More of the Same.
EVEN more
I wouldn't say he is for more of the same, I would say he is for intensifying the Marxist stranglehold on the USA. When he gets elected he is going to push this country even farther towards Marxism than we are now. Bush set him up real nice to start implementing crazy socialist ideas.
Avoiding logical fallacies
Should we simply use Karl Marx as a negative authority or consider each point critically, for example free education?
10. Free education for all children in public schools.
"the Bill of General Diffusion of Knowledge introduced by Jefferson in 1779 proposed a three-year free education for all children wherein the most talented (the presumed future leaders) would be selected for further education at public expense " { http://ezinearticles.com/... } and { http://etext.virginia.edu... }
[Benjamin Franklin] argued that the state should be actively engaged in the free education of youth and other public services, and in dispelling ignorance of public fads and superstitions. { http://www.dailyreckoning... }
One of his [Benjamin Franklin's] last efforts was to promote universal public education. { http://www.let.rug.nl/usa... }
Laws for the liberal education of youth, especially of the lower class of people, are so extremely wise and useful, that, to a humane and generous mind, no expense for this purpose would be thought extravagant. { http://www.liberty1.org/t... -John Admas }
"The liberal appropriations made by the Legislature of Kentucky for a general system of Education cannot be too much applauded. A popular Government, without popular information, or the means of acquiring it, is but a Prologue to a Farce or a Tragedy; or, perhaps both. Knowledge will forever govern ignorance: And a people who mean to be their own Governors, must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives." { http://classicliberal.tri... -James Madison }
[James Monroe] was elected governor in 1799 and worked vigorously in support of public education... { http://millercenter.org/a... }
Excellent Point.
Just because Comrade Karl was for something doesn't automatically mean it's evil.
On the topic of Education for instance, I'm not too inclined to carp over some of his positions. I mean, don't get me wrong; I vehemently oppose the Federal Government's involvement in education and I believe that privatization is a viable and morally superior method of running things. But when it comes down to it, I really don't have a problem with the government banning children from working in industrial settings. And I can see the logic behind the basis of the argument for public education. For god sakes! Ensuring that the electorate is educated ought to be a major priority for any Republican Society!
My own experience leads me to compels me to assert that local governments can, and have proved to do an excellent job when it comes to providing public education.
Quality of education is important
In terms of quality of education it goes like this:
Federal Sponsored < State Sponsored < Private Education
The reason? People should have a choice about the type of education they want. State and Federal give out cookie cutter educations that paint their own institutions in a positive light.
We need a rational electorate
I had a unique experience as I attended public school for half a day and a Catholic School the other half starting in 7th grade to graduation. I then graduated from the University of Michigan. I had completed my education before the establishment of the Department of Education. I have no reason to believe that they improved education one iota.
I agree that local governments can do a good job at education. However, we also must be free to have and use private alternatives. But Education is one facet. We also need a free press and an open exchange of ideas. (like here at DP). We will always need an active electorate operating rationally not merely emotionally. There is no formula that can guarantee such a thing but without individual freedom and personal responsibility it would be a miracle.
You so miss the point
Of course the Founders valued education. That doesn't mean that they ever would advocate the curricula being at the discretion of the Federal Govt. had that been the case, they would have included it in the Constitution. The Founders believed that the several govt.s of the states should and would promote education, but in those wiser times, even the states would have understood that the school districts themselves must be left to the administration of schools.
Local control if free and open is best.
One of the advantages of privatization is economies of scale. Going beyond the enslavement of mandated curriculums, should government (you and I and our neighbors) be prevented from taking advantage of such economies on the State and Federal level..
Then all they have to do
is amend the Constitution..not ignore it.
It's true that freedom was being attacked the second it was guaranteed but that doesn't make it right.
Marx also said in the same chapter (2) that in order to get these ten planks accepted, you must first convince the [general population] that they live in a democracy.
"We have seen above that the first step in the revolution by the working class is to raise the proletariat to the position of ruling class to win the battle of democracy."

10 planks
1. Abolition of private property and the application of all rents of land to public purposes.
-we're moving in that direction
2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.
-check
3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance.
-we just tax
4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.
-yikes!
5. Centralization of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly.
-sounds familiar
6. Centralization of the means of communications and transportation in the hands of the State.
-FCC, DOT, TSA
7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the state, the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.
-EPA
8. Equal liability of all to labor. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture.
-we only subsidize the armies we don't create them
9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries, gradual abolition of the distinction between town and country, by a more equitable distribution of population over the country.
-we're not even close to this
10. Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children's factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production.
-and check
5 for 10, sort of. We sould be muc more worried about fascism
We currently adhere to all 10 planks in some form or another.
We currently adhere to all 10 planks in some form or another, not just 5.
#1 Property Tax
I currently can't own anything of signficance without being threatened of the siezure of my property if I don't pay an annual tax. Cars, Homes, etc.
#4 Confiscation of Property
If I don't pay taxes, my property is taken. If I sell contraband, i.e. Drugs, My property is seized. We however, don't treat our immigrants like that.
#5 Central Bank Central Credit.
We finished that one off with the passage of the Bailout, Fed 1913, etc.
#7 Water works, Ag for everyone
80% of America was unfarmable until the water works projects of the 1950's which created all those reservoirs. Now we can plant upon our waste land and not have to worry about drought.
#8 Industrial Armies,
- What is Obama saying about every High School being ordered to volunteer? Nah, Marx, laugh it off Joe Biden.
#9. Ag, Man, State, Country
Umm, we certainly have industrialized agriculture. We also no longer are fierce loyalists to City before State, State before Country and so on.
Emigrants, not immigrants
Anyone leaving the country has their property seized.
actually we did a one-up on Marx
for plank 8, we do not have equal liability of all to labor...only equal access of all to a paycheck, without the need to labor
not even Marx could have been that devious
