Hate Thought Crime Detection around the corner? Scientist say yes..
Ran across this story and thought you guys would enjoy a short read. Apparently scientist have isolated the "brain circuit" in charge of "Hate". It is mentioned that not also can this be used in court to quantify hate, but it could also be taken out to remove all hate from the world. Or at least that is what I got out of it. What a weird world we live in folks. 1984 here we come, although a little late. :O)
Scientists Identify Brain's 'Hate Circuit'
57 mins agoWEDNESDAY, Oct. 29 (HealthDay News) -- British researchers say they've identified a "hate circuit" in the brain.
This hate circuit shares part of the brain associated with aggression, but is distinct from areas related to emotions such as fear, threat, and danger, said researchers Professor Semir Zeki and John Romaya, of University College London's laboratory of neurobiology.
The study was published online Oct. 29 in the journal PLoS One.
"Hate is often considered to be an evil passion that should, in a better world, be tamed, controlled, and eradicated," Zeki said in a journal news release. "Yet to the biologist, hate is a passion that is of equal interest to love. Like love, it is often seemingly irrational and can lead individuals to heroic and evil deeds. How can two opposite sentiments lead to the same behavior?"

I actually laghed out loud when I read "eradicated" from the earth. What a complete load of crap, to even think that human beings could rid the world of hate... what arogance these "scientists" have. And this brings up another issue. If these people want hate eradicated, then are they hating, hate? If they hate, hate, then they too should be labotamized to stop their evil transgressions.

I can see this maybe as a last ditch effort for repeat violent criminals. Maybe it would cut down on prison overpopulation and violence.
But even then it would have to be for people with serious issues.

What would happen if we felt nothing but love or indifference for the dog biting us, the thief robbing us, et. ?
Only when the emotions can be associated with a circumstance, can behavior have a chance of being modified. Perhaps usefull information if you want to program a "Manchurian Candidate".

There are many shades of hate
If you're going to physically attack something, an angry-hatred is usefull to get adrenaline flowing, where shooting something, detachment is better. I hate dogs that growl at me, for the very reason I may need to smash its friggin skull with "extreme prejudice", as they say. I'll feel guilty for the poor critters miserable life after its dead and I've got time.

What should be happening are brain scans for all elected officials to see if they are psychopaths or not. Brain scans can now detect if the emotional centers of the brain get stimulated. For a psychopath, which is a conciousless being, there is no change in brain patterns when they hear a word that would cause an emotional reaction in a human.

Actually, as Americans we have the right to hate anyone we want for any reason we want, so long as we do not act upon that hate. Admittedly, hate is usually more destructive over time to the hater that the hatee, but it is still our right. We'd best keep it that way!
