With national Republicans, including John McCain and Sarah Palin, calling for Steven's resignation, his re-election bid appears lost. found guilty, they are good. Time and funding are the enemy. Sarah Palin was given little chance 2 times, but won. Alasakns tend to like to vote for the underdog. Wally Hickel won on the AIP ticket in 1990. There will be a group of us at the Stevens Rally today at 12:30 PM (Westmark Hotel) waving Bob Bird signs!

Anyone want to overwhelm Alaska Public TV with messages
to get a Ron Paul senatorial candidate into TONIGHT's debate (30 October)?
KTOO has a blog page about the "debate" between the two crooks, Begich and Stevens.
Can I count on my DP friends to go there and ask, politely, why Bob Bird is not in the debate? If you are a supporter of public TV, you might even mention ho sad it is that public TV is blocking out a legitimate candidate on the ballot, and from the third largest party in Alaska. It's a disgrace!

Let's call like crazy and get Bob Bird into tonight's debate
The woman who answered the phone when I called said she's gotten quite a few calls.
Let's keep the pressure on. Public TV has a responsibility to include all candidates in their debate. This is a statewide televised debate that will be seen in every village and every city in Alaska. Bob Bird needs to be there. KTOO is blocking him out but letting Ted the Felon on.

MARK Begich, the Mayor of Anchorage?

I have *never* heard MARK Begich do joint interviews with his brother, Dr. Nick Begich Jr.
Do you have a link or audio?
Mark Begich:
a) grants large no-bid city contracts to personal friends
b) built the only heated sidewalks in all of Anchorage on a street where the only private business is his wife's coffee shop
c) has taken bribes and kickbacks from the same real estate barrons that have Ted Stevens in their pocket
d) has made sweetheart land deals and rezonings for said real estate barrons
e) has established several city departments and executive-level jobs which were put under the direction of Begich cronies, departments with no apparent purpose
Mark Begich is not what Alaska needs. He is a tax and spend liberal who only won his job as Mayor by 11 votes, and only because the rules for how Mayors are elected was changed concurrently with the election he was running in.

Thanks for clearing that up. Like I said I'd only heard very limited time of Mark speaking.
Been looking for his interview but not finding it, only finding 2 interviews with his brother as of yet.
I'd love to hear it
Maybe he does have a redeeming quality or two.
He does have an A rating from the NRA, for what that is worth. But after 6 years of Mark as mayor, I could never trust him in an elected office again.
