Bob Barr was right... Ron Paul scattered the 3rd party vote.

Had Ron Paul endorsed Barr, and Barr alone, he would have gotten a whole 1%.

Damn, Ron Paul... you cost Barr the election.

Barr was a GOP plant... prove me wrong?

Nope.

Had Paul endorsed Barr, Paul's vote totals in MT and LA would have gone down--by about 1 vote each.

And, yes, I noted it was sarcasm.

So this is what a troll smells like

Some people...

...just look at the topic title and go into attack mode before they read the whole thing.

I'm a die hard Ron Paul supporter and have been since about 2 years before he announced that he'd run for president. I've never said a bad word about Ron Paul in my life and can't foresee ever doing so.

This topic was an attempt to belittle Bob Barr, not Ron Paul, for Christ's sake.

Ah well... what can ya' do? *shrugs*

Doesn't matter either way.

Doesn't matter either way. Did you notice the MSM counts always showed Obama's percent plus McCain's percent equalled one hundred percent? What third parties?

Pat

BOHICA!!

Ron Paul = smarter than some of his supporters

Ron Paul knew from the beginning that 3rd party is not how you win elections. Fine for the old protest but not a viable alternative to making real political change.

What real political change

What real political change did the RPR make yesterday using the GOP?

I really don't know.

We got beaten on all fronts. So now a lot of people are saying "throw the third parties overboard", because the finger-pointing of blame has begun.

Doesn't make any sense to me at all. Voter fraud probably defeated us anyway.

he won in the only arena that counts

Back in 2005 and 2006 if you had put a hundred Republicans in a room, you would MAYBE have 3 or 4 of them stand up against the majority and vehemently defend the notions of small government, civil liberties and present a sharp critique of the Neocon agenda.

I'd wager that if you put a hundred Republicans in a room today, that me or someone like me, I could rally 15 to 16 of us. And we'd show people how to stand up to the majority.

Where it counts most. Ron Paul has achieved.

If we stay active, there's no reason why our message of respect for the constitution and humble foreign and domestic policies could not grab even more Republicans.

pff

Bob Barr was wrong...on too much for Ron Paul to ever support him

As an onlooker and a

As an onlooker and a faithful follower of this election....I'm sorry but I am very skeptical of the count. It is hard to imagine by any stretch that Pelosi regained her seat with a whopping 71%. Imagine. I guess all the MSM pollsters were wrong there too. It is unimagineable that your third party candidates did so badly despite all the unreported press coverage of protests etc. etc. I just don't believe the numbers. !!!!! It doesn't make sense.

What is that one persons quote..

Live free or Diebold....that should just about cover it..The sheeple belive whatever number comes out of the media.....they are all grazing right now, and living in oblivion once again...

1% is worst total ever ?

Has the combined third party vote ever been less than this?
I do not recall such a low total in at least the last 30 something years ... nor do I recall such saturation and biased media coverage by the new consolidated corporate media

Yes it has been lower.1984 -

Yes it has been lower.1984 - .6% is the lowest in 28 years(1980-2008)
On a positive note. The total vote for third party is up from 2004.

THE FEDERAL RESERVE - Americas OVERLORD

It does not take a majority to prevail ... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.

No, but we were cheated.

Of course we never did anything about the machines. Without the machines being banned we'll never know what the real percentages are, and I believe they were quite simply hacked.

The Republicans use Diebold...the Democrats have been using paper ballot fraud, the dead voting, all sorts of nonsense.

Don't forget illegal aliens

Don't forget illegal aliens voting too(and its safe to say, that illegal aliens are likely to vote for whoever is weakest on illegal immigration and whoever is pro-amnesty, making the illegal immigration problem worse)

I Dont think so ..

I actualy think the count was about right.
The media succeeded in whipping the public up into an absolute frenzy about choosing between mud and mud.

Ron Paul didn't scatter my vote,

how about yours? Nader has consistently pulled more than the LP nominee, both in polling this time and in past elections.

Paul? Hahah

Look at it, the Two Party vote has never had more of a majority.

Idiots who voted for McCain, scared their vote would be wasted, which eventually, Yes it was. Your vote was wasted. Everyone who voted for McCain, Yes you wasted your vote.

not to mention those who voted for obama...

your vote won't be wasted, it will likely be used for the destruction of the United States. :-)

Yeah the people who voted

Yeah the people who voted for those tyrants deserve exactly what they got comin. But I dont and neither do the rest of you.

I wonder if those people who voted for obamas character would be willing to get punched in the face for everytime he screws up. Man thier would be a whole lot less people voting for these ass clowns if that were the case.

That's exactly right

Libera me, let the truth break, what my fears make--Leslie Phillips

Yes, I agree with this too!

Obama has promised the sky to these people - even if he "redistributes the wealth" which is rapidly disappearing, how is he gonna live up to what these folks are now expecting?? If he doesn't, how will they then react? He will try to blame someone else, but that won't be easy to do, as he will be mostly working with a Democrat congress I believe.

Face it

Only Ron Paul could unify the third party vote, not Barr, Baldwin or Nader or McKinney could unify them.
The LP and CP should unify by establishing an "Independence Party" on the basis of Minnesota and work with the Minnesota IP, but change their platform a bit.

1 % !?!

Well without advertising,

Well without advertising, there's no point. Third Parties have serious problems because of the laughable rules the GOP and Democrats have set up to make them jump through hoops getting ballot access.

lol

Love it.

Well, don't forget Dondero

One of Barr's campaign managers who threw his vote to McCain recently and he is the one who chose Root. What a slap in Barr's face. So that probably reduces Paul's blame to .9%, Dondero maybe .1% at least.

yeah

DAMN ron paul he didnt do a single thing to help this movement out! (notes the title of the website) oooh thats right hes the whole reason i 'woke up' in the first place.

2nd

that one IR8

My girlfriend woke me up...

...but Ron Paul was waiting there with a nice big cup of coffee, a cheese danish, and a Constitution.

Ron Paul is my teacher.

How could Paul have cost Barr the election?

Please write some sense!. How could 1,2 or 3% have ensured the election for Barr? Barr's campaign made some severe mistakes, face it. Face it, Baldwin did also work on Paul's campaign and some of his supporters were going to vote for Baldwin in any case, same with Nader, whether Paul would have endorsed Barr or not. Do you understand voluntarism?
BVerney and Cory made big mistakes. Barr simply had to attend Paul's conference, and he would have secured a lot of more money and most of the Paul's support, without Paul's endorsement of anyone specific.

I planned to vote for Baldwin...

even before RP endorsed him. I identify with the Libertarian Party but after much debate with myself and going over Barr's record in my head and the fact that he was an establishment man I couldn't find the trust in him to vote for him.

...you REALLY couldn't tell that this was sarcasm?

rofl

wow. What is sarcasm!?

Sarcasm is when...

...thought you got me, didn't ya'?

hahahahaha! Ron Paul did

hahahahaha! Ron Paul did the best of the 3rd party candidates... none of them got over 2% anywhere....

LMFAO RON PAUL GOT WAY MORE

LMFAO RON PAUL GOT WAY MORE THAN BARR IN MONTANA >..! highest percentage

Unfortunately Winston

Unfortunately Winston Churchill was right. Americans will do everything wrong before they do it right. They rejected the Repubics but went to the Dumbs. Hopefully when the Dumbs continue the policy, more will see the truth. This is why the campaign for 2010 and 2012 must begin tonight!

As for the third party votes, they get zero national attention or mention. Most people don't know who any of them are. I voted for Barr but the guy was clearly not the quality of Dr. Paul. And sorry but I can't vote for a party that endorses a religion in its document of principle like Constitution does. That's unconstitutional.

Re-read your last sentence

You people who are rabidly anti-religion are not rational. If the founding documents on which you base your political philosophy all demand recognition of religion to ensure the moral well-being of the nation, but a liberal SCOTUS decision has said religion is bad, who do you listen to? Even atheists must be more reasonable than that. I really wouldn't care, except that this issue will continue to haunt us and we must come together to take back our country. How many times did RP say that, although he is Christian, his position is to support freedom in everything? Did you ever even listen to Baldwin? He took that same position. The MSM has so villainized religion that some actually believe it is an evil force. Those people who do, have left the company of the founders.
Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.

Yeah, you're probably wrong.

No...

...he's definitely right.

Not even an Obama fan would think 1% of the vote would win it.
