Ron Paul With a Plan B
I do believe that Ron Paul could do it again---it would be
very, very difficult for someone else to build up his political
capital (for the sake of Liberty). - And we should all feel very
proud for all of the work we did in the primary--this allowed
Ron Paul's ideas to spread like wild.
While I believe Ron Paul should run again, there needs to
be a strong plan B if he doesn't win the nomination.
I remember he said that he was forced to promise that
he would not run 3rd party in order to be let into the debates.
Is this true? He needs to find a way around this next time.
If he doesn't win the primary---Ron Paul or another Liberty
candidate must run a strong 3rd party campaign and at least
spoil it for the false Republicans.

I admire those who put names forward for possible presidential candidates. Some of them (particularly Ventura/Jones) are pretty damn interesting. And, of course, many people at Daily Paul are hoping that Dr. Paul will run again.
But Dr. Paul, in a recent TV interview, stated that he didn't know what the world would be like in 4 years' time. He was right. We might be under martial law, or some other horrible mess.
We are witnessing first-hand the disintegration of the U.S. and the West. Although the stock market has rallied the past few days this trend is not likely to continue. We all have heard Peter Schiff and Gerald Celente make dire predictions about what is to come. I am not a doomsayer at all, but I am a realist. This country is headed for the breakers, and fast. The whole system is rotten to the core. And, frankly, it needs to fail utterly. Otherwise we will be rebuilding a nation on a bed of weeds.
And yet, planning for a better future is a good idea. Finding an acceptable candidate and working with Paul's Campaign for Liberty will keep the spark of liberty alive. This is a good thing.
Ventura/Jones. They might not win but there would be alot of
excitement and fireworks. It certainly would not be a dull campaign. People are driven to entertaining things. If you want to help me with securing the vote, email me. That's a first priority.

Four years comes quickly and I think he'll be just fine to give it one last run. If not, then there are a number of other good candidates. I don't think we should be throwing in with any third party candidates, however. We need to fight power with power and that means we must fight within the Republican party. Ventura as an independent may be have a huge impact but he won't win it, especially with his love for the 911 conspiracy. I also haven't heard enough from him on economics. We need a president who fully understands economics, from the Austrians to the Marxists.

..But the GOP is a sinking ship. I think it's going down and under. Its only hope to spring back to life is if Obama follows up on this gun control noise that's being made in Washington. That's political suicide for his party.
Otherwise, the Republican Party is painted into a corner. Bush and the neo-cons all but destroyed it. I don't even think Obama floundering with the economy will help the GOP.
So 'which party do you choose our presidential candidate to run on?'--should be the question, in my opinion. And let's put away the idea of starting a new party. That won't happen.
So it's three choices: Republican, Libertarian, Constitution. Which do you favor?

Really, you have only a couple years.
Really, you have only a couple years. 3 years if you jump in during the last 8 months before the election. I think the minimum age (arbitrarily set in the Constitution) to be president is 35. (And I think it's 25 for the House, and 30 for Senate.) So anyone 31 years (since early january) and older right now will be old enough to be president when the next inauguration in 2013 happens.
I don't agree with having a president, but I don't mind someone running and inspiring others to follow the philosophy of liberty instead of what they do now. I would hope they're at least as consistent as Ron Paul, and a little more charismatic (people tend to like that more...I prefer RP's personality over a more charismatic one, myself). And if by some chance they actually get elected, I would expect them to do the right thing and dismantle the government as much as they can get away with.

We're political underdogs, whether we go Third Party or GOP. We need to start our campaign at least as early as the competitition does, and realistically speaking, the campaigns for president unofficially start right after the midterms.

I don't understand. I have only heard him questioning in a goading type of way. Otherwise, I don't know. I like the fact that he came from the left and he is msm, but is he truly, truly one of us in all ways? I like your thinking on Ventura, but Rand Paul is too new to the political game. He would still have far less experience than someone like Sarah Palin by 2012 when she will surely run on the GOP ticket again, a nightmare scenario.

will he run as VP??? As long as he backs a person from the beginning loud and clear, his support will follow where he points, but I'd rather he was actually on the ticket in some capacity.

but I think Baldwin is too dadgum nice. We gotta nice guy already. With him we need someone tough as nails. I love Baldwin, but when I asked my "outsider" relative, he went straight to Ventura. I agree with all the criticisms of Ventura, but Ventura captures the people. I want a "WIN" team. Not a message spreading team.

NICE? Some folks wouldn't
NICE? Some folks wouldn't say it was "nice" to speak out publicly against NWO. I think that takes a lot of courage-I still yearn for Ron Paul-in my heart he is my real president, but since he is not likely to run again for presidency, I would love to see Baldwin for president, and it would be fabulous if Ron Paul would be VP. I would support Ventura, but he would not be my choice over Baldwin. If you listened, to the way the crowd responded to Baldwins' messages, you can see he does have the potential of inspiring people to continue on, much the same way Ron Paul does.

he is not bold, nor am I saying that he is not strong. He comes across nice and quiet. As Simon would say, "forgettable." I love him because I take the time to listen and do so, but most won't. I'm talking about people outside of this movement. They don't know him at all. He is courageous, strong, principled. Everything he needs to be except roughed up a bit. Shout a little here and there. Scowl now and then. He is "nice." He is who everyone wants as a father. He needs to put on a bomber jacket, take off the tie, put on some jeans and boots and take the world by storm. He has the words, he has the speeches, he has the knowledge, he has almost everything, except he is "nice."

Jesse would have had a hard time beating Coleman or Franken here in MN this year.
People need to be honest about Jesse -- he did not do the best job while he was in office. We have a terrible "light rail" system mandated to us by him and there is a reason why nobody is too eager to have him back with his calls for larger roles of Public education and health care in our pocket book.
He was the type of guy that ran MN like this "let's cut government, except where I want it."
I support him 100% on his 9.11 movements but we need a person who can re-illustrate Ron Paul's voice of liberty. Baldwin would do this while adding conservatives and he would not have to overcome Jesse's abrasive personality.

I would like to see JESSE VENTURA 2021 INDEPENDENT with a VP like John Stewart.
Democrats claim the GOP is irrelevant, in my county GOP is less than the third parties and Independents are registered at 28%.
While Republicans battle neocons, Rush, and each other, for a power that the world relates with 911, wars, greed, ignorance and massive crime against humanity in the name of Jesus Christ and the USA, I think 2012 is time for Independents, that is, voters who register to Decline to State Party, and DO NOT GIVE ANY MONEY TO ANY CANDIDATE IN ANY PARTY SHUN ALL PARTY COLLECTIVES.. we will win.

The Campaign for Liberty
needs to be re-born as "Ron Paul's Campaign for Liberty", and it needs to become his PAC, with his direct leadership. This would open up the floodgates of contributions. Unless Ron Paul is the direct leader of the Campaign, money simply won't come in. This is actually a way to re-direct the GOP without firing a shot (calling for a 3rd party). The "RPCL" would then need to enlist professional marketing people who know how to project an image, and that image would be: Let's hold Washington D.C. accountable". The "RPCL" would then need to enlist support of better known critics of the status quo GOP/DEM parties. Build it from the ground up. Ron Paul sparked a fire last year, and our reckless government is just proving it's arrogance every day. People are getting sick of it, they just don't know what to do. I'd say calling their Congressman is pretty futile, wouldn't you?
