Cut spending or raise taxes?
It is so predictable what happens when government over spends. They have two options:
1) Cut spending
2) Raise income (through taxes)
As individuals, we know what we would have to do if we spent beyond our means. You stop spending so much! Guess which one the government will NEVER do.
The funny part is that higher taxes is what destroys an economy, making it even worse. If California wants to get out of this mess they will have to cut government spending. It's hilarious that these bureaucrats cling to these absolutely USELESS "services". When will they learn to let go?

Maybe high taxes are what people need to get angry
If the government was allowed to fund the war by taxes only there would not have been the long war. Once americans started paying 80% of their income in taxes all of america would be marching on DC.
Now we have $10 trillion in federal debt to pass on to our children.
Raising taxes to pay for spending in the only honest thing to do.
Paying for government spending with debt without a plan of repayment (i.e. bonds that are repaid by current taxes) is dishonest and immoral.

Move to Wyoming
Move to Wyoming. The sales tax is limited to 6% (4% in most places), property tax is low and there is no personal or corporate income tax. MT has no sales tax so you can just do your shopping there.
While you're right to bring attention to this, the solution is to move your spending and business activities to jurisdictions with the lowest or no taxes.

Are there any 'twin towns' up there with people generally living and working on the Wyoming side to avoid personal and corporate taxes, but with the majority of shopping on the Montana side to avoid sales tax?

The guy that just won
our congressional seat for district 2 here in Alabamastan, is/was the mayor of the capital city of Montgomery, there has been a 10% sales tax there for over 2 years now, all it has done is drive business into the neighboring counties, the only reason any one travels to Montgomery any more is if their job is still there (lots of government jobs/state captial), or if they have to conduct some sort of government business, no one shops there anymore. And the infrastructure is going down along with all the empty buildings around the town.
But yet he got elected to go to Congress to do the same thing, but the guy running against him was just as crappy, it was a lose lose situation.

Arnold should start hacking
Arnold should start hacking away at government services first and foremost. It's such an obvious business killer to continue to raise taxes unless ("heaven forbid") taxes are raised everywhere uniformly.
Arnold is interested in more government
Arnold is always wanting to increase services and is actually asking for billions from the federal govt, to bailout his state. Here is an idea, maybe if you spend 1 million less than you get in revenue every year you could have a surplus in 100 years.
