An Open Letter to Michael Nystrom

Please ban the above Bozo and his threads for one week due to his ignorance concerning liberty and freedom of speech.

Anytime someone makes a post like this it is simply because they have no self control to stop reading posts they don't like and wish to impose their will on others by trying to get people to post only things they want to read.

No one but you is responsible for what you choose to read! Take responsibility for what you read and ignore post you don't care to read and quit trying to brow beat folks into only posting things you want to read.

This is one of if not thee best forum on the web because of the freedom Michal allows here. I would hate to see it change because some folks can't control themselves and take responsibility for what they choose to read.

Shut it down for a week??? Oh, HELL, no!
We are all here for the same reason and that is freedom!
I have had my feelings hurt here, I have been confronted by others about comments I have made and I have confronted others. I have also been driven to tears of joy by actions of people here. We may not be one big happy family but we are family!
We disagree and sometimes we get spiteful but all in all we are all here fighting together for the same thing. If you can't cope with that then you should sign off for a week.
Right now we are fragmented and looking for a good way to further our beliefs in liberty. So step up to the plate with some good ideas or hush!

I have to agree with this. This used to be a site I could frequent for activism so that we could do real quantitative good for the movement, and instead I only shadow here now, and never post.

There is so much hostility here that I have mostly left off to pursuits that are more fruitful such as building the Libertarian Party. Surprisingly even though we didn't break huge records for our Presidential candidate, we did do great nationwide and my volunteer requests and inquiries have jumped through the roof.

I personally think theres some room for optimism and not all the gloom and doom I usually see. I think that if we come together with moderate tone and present our cases for legitimate government appropriately, we can move mountains. Let's run more B.J. Lawsons, Ron Pauls, Bob Barr's, Chuck Baldwin's, etc. The most freedom candidates we can get, the best we can do. I don't see why we can't all be friends if we are willing to try.

Personally, I LOVE the diversity of views on this site, and the myriad and broad topics of interest. I have learned a lot from DP users. I really liked your 'Ron Paul' yell video, too.
It's kinda like the real world here at the DP, except with a higher I.Q. and more free thinkers- there will be emotional, sensitive, and/or angry moments. Toughen up, take what's good & ignore the negative, or hit the door. Stay at C4L if you want a narrower focus and more polite posters. We get lively here, and we LIKE it that way.

ah, you crack me up. Chill out if you have been around for a year lurking then you damn well know this is not your mother's forum. We love this place because Michael leaves us alone. We probably have more trolls than patriots sometimes I think this is the battle of the trolls night. It's like professional wrestling. I'm not a fan of it but in between all the fussing I do get a nugget of truth. That's way more than I get from MSM.

We all are here for the fight for Liberty! We also agree to disagree on alot of things...that is why this is such a wonderful community!

You are going to run up against a brick wall on this suggestion because even though we may bicker and disagree on some things it is the very notion of freedom to express your opinion that brings us all together here!!

Couldn't you just consider this site's forums to be like television? If there is some thing you don't like going on, simply don't read it.

There are TONS of good informational posts at this site. Why not read some of them?

Another option would be to offer ideas to benefit the rEVOLution rather than sitting by and *watching* for how long did you say? Only to point out all the flaws you have observed while watching everyone.

I don't know about the 'shut down the site for a week' idea. I don't think that would have any benefit. But I think I know what you feel about the DP going down hill, especially thanks to the ruthless attacks made by the few, upon all with whom they disagree.

There's a lot of hate and negativity going on here; some put a lot of effort into attacking others (NeoCon tactic) instead of actually being constructive. They seem to look for something to attack rather than to actually contribute something.

I too was attacked for making posts the same day as I signed-up. I'd been visiting this site all year but finally wanted to get involved. I got attacked for defending an unpopular position and having only registered recently. I was also accused of being someone else registered under a new name.

But I think we'll just have to deal with it. The DP seems to have become a debate site more than a constructive one - at the moment at least. I don't know if there's a good way of dealing with it. Maybe the site needs better rules, and actually enforce them more.

Or maybe we should try to out-compete the hatred by being more productive and not adding to the problem.

But despite the negativity and hatred, I still enjoy being here for my part. I'll just do my best to be the change I want to see in the DP.

Shutting down the DP for a week sounds like the same thing that a bank or stock market holiday would do...NOTHING!!!!! IT ALSO IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL!!! Not sure if we have to be grateful for your post or offended. I prefer to be neither.

All I can say is that if you feel we are as a forum 'going to the dogs' I would be able to offer you some forums where you might feel more on the same level with their members.

For crying out loud, allow everyone to come to terms after the exhausting 12-18 months of being active, not just with campaigning but also with learning so many new aspects of what happens behind the curtains of the dirty game of politics. The reality of what we have seen coming with a win by any other candidate than Ron Paul is not an easy one to just absorb.

I for one am not in need of a Godfather like type. Having been here a while, I am sure our 'Daily Paul family' will be back on track pursuing the cause of liberty.
Feel free to join, everyone fighting for the same goal, but please do not try to tell everyone off in a so called educated manner. It's deceiving and condescending.

There is always another option for you: start your own forum!

site is a good thing. There are diverse people expressing their opinions. That is OK by me and I will comment when it I feel like commenting, or just reading the messages, or ignore some completely because they are no interest to me. But that just me.
