AFTER THE O-BOMB - Meditation in time of disillusion
More than 98 % of the people who cared to go to the elections voting for the two NWO-actors . This is devestating! As some kind of foreign legionaire in 'Fort Positive' on the Daily Paul who spend many hours not only with chatting and posting on various blogs but who was online canvassing among Ron Paul meetup groups (Wonder how many of them voted for the 'lesser evil' now?) I felt distraught about the picayune affect the Ron Paul movement had on the actual elections.
Though at least after Super Tuesday the chance for Ron Paul to win the nomination or even the presidency was slim, my hope was: with a victory in at least one state during the primaries or a strong minority at the convention, he couldn't be ignored anymore by our MSM in Europe, finally igniting a discussion in my neo-con/"socialdemocrat" - ridden country too. My last hope was a significant outcome for the third party-candidates and Ron Paul (at least 10 % together). But alas!
So if even in your country with a great tradition of liberty and Ron Paul as a prophet, corporate fascism (with a smile) is taking over by democratic consensus, how will be the future of my country ? And actually I'am afraid Obama will help to bring the NWO's agenda forward in a way not possible for GWB or McCain, because people around the world may give credit to Obama as they never would get.
Obviously this is a moment each of us has to think, if and how he will contribute to the Ron Paul movement in the future. (I call it the 'Ron Paul movement' since the personality of Ron Paul brought people of various backrounds and political leanings (not only libertarians) together for a common cause.)
Times are getting rough. No one knows that better than we. Maybe it's the beginning of (as Ron Paul experessed it once) a long period of hibernation for liberty. And I think it's legitimate to ask yourself, if one shouldn't only care for himself and the loved one's instead of promoting the massage of liberty to the sheeple.
The take of xcntryk1 comes near to my view. She posted:
Ron Paul was our last best hope for electoral success...
On November 8th, 2008 xntryk1 says:
...in this completely rigged game. Sadly, I don't think even he realized this. By constantly stressing it was about the message ("Freedom is popular"), and NOT about the messenger (him), he was wrong. It was the combination of the two that sparked the RP revolution - the message of freedom spoken by a man who has consistently fought for freedom all his adult life (and has a voting record to back it up). Plus the fact that he was "allowed" to be heard, solely because he was playing by their rules (by affiliating himself with one half of the bipartisan oligarchy). When he started pulling in the big bucks, winning every poll, drawing huge crowds, etc., it was enough to bring even this long-time cynic back into the fold for one last vote (I was an RP supporter, long before I decided to involve myself in the stupid voting farce, again). But when it became obvious that the PTB (in the media and GOP) were not even going to allow him a fair shot on a level playing field - even though he was playing by their rules (and not running as a 3rd party candidate) - the game was already over.
There's not likely to be another winning combination like that (strong message + honest, principled messenger + mainstream exposure) in a LONG time, if ever. Without Ron Paul, all we've got is the message. It's recently been proven without a shadow of a doubt that 99% of the voting public is NOT interested in that message. Or at the very least, they're more interested in OTHER messages (free lunches, etc.). So that message isn't going to win any elections, anytime soon. Primarily because the PTB are not going to allow it to even come CLOSE to be heard by enough people (even if gov't school indoctrination somehow fails, and people actually WANT to hear that message). Such being the case, Einstein's supposed diagnosis most certainly seems to apply, "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."
This is not to say, "Give up hope, all is lost!" On the contrary, all is NOT lost - IF enough people are REALLY willing to do what it takes - "mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor." Instead of continuing to do the same thing over and over again, with the exact same results every single go-round, it would seem to be time (some, like myself, would say WAY past time) to try a different tack. One that doesn't involve playing their game by their rules. Quite the opposite in fact. Stop ALL dealing with government. Stop ALL dealing with banks. Disobey or ignore unjust laws. Act like a free person instead of a slave or a child. A quote from Thoreau comes to mind, "Under a government which imprisons unjustly, the true place for a just man is also a prison." They can't throw all of us in prison, especially those of us who are armed (which we all should be at this point). Another quote comes to mind, "People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people." ~ V
That my friends is the ONLY way things are ever going to change in this country - if the government is once again afraid of the people. And it doesn't even require violence on our part to make them afraid of us. All it requires is withholding consent. Don't consent to be enslaved by their banks OR by an illegal, rogue government. Simply stop playing their games and the entire house of cards will come crashing down. Final quote for the day, "I didn't say it would be easy. I just said it would be the truth." ~ Morpheus. :-)
My own take is, that I will not foresake the 'fellows in arms' I have got during this campaign, and of course Ron Paul is still our prophet, but from now on, this movement should be much more about to promote one another in our individual struggle for liberty. All this Free State projects come back to my mind and also the project of the Fellowship of the White Rose though it will need to be revamped.

From Ron Paul to Kant
Hi Cologne,
I like your analysis, even though the figures might be in doubt, there is this general Obamania even all around us in Europe.
From my point of view, the Ron Paul Revolution will evolve into a Kant'sche Dimension. Actually the key message of personal liberty may be translated in Kant's "Dare to use your own mind".
With Ron Paul we have a messenger and lots of ressources to refer to. But after the elections it's up to us to stay engaged in politics and lead by example.
Ron Paul 2008 - Truth is simple
Thank you
I'm actually planning a German version that will be published on larry77's blog. Yet I never thought about the relation between the American revolution and Kant (may actually be an interesting topic since Kant was a thoughtful and critical observer of the French revolution and it's very likely he was aware of the American revolution too), but anyway, we have to look for our own liberty traditions. It should be useful to examine the peasant's war, the reformation, the age of enlightment(Kant!) and the 1848 revolution under this perspective.
Concerning the German Obamania: I think that's rather superficial; people are just excited about the first black becoming US president and about the Bush regime ending. Having said this, I'am rather worried about an artificial Obamania kept up by certain parts of the media and the political establishment. It maybe used to forcefed some unpopular measures like sending more German troops to Afghanistan to support our 'friend and ally'.

Yes, that's why
I do stress it's an emotional statement. Yet sometimes we need to realize and feel the absurdity of this 'take and give back a little' - game.

I agree that the movement should be about promoting the individual struggle for liberty. How is the White Rose project anyhow?

Coalition building: Continue to engage the left on targeted issues.
I personally am batting zero when I try to bring the freedom message to Obama supporters... perhaps that approach should be essentially abandoned... however...another technique can be used, as vincebodie talked about in the link provided below...
http://64.72.126.49/PubPo...
Anyhow, listen to Katherine Albrecht's take:
Visualize: Freedom March, the size of the Civil Rights March
If you can't beat 'em, join em....don't throw tomatoes...form coalitions with these guys...what if we get together with the left...with who we have waaaaay more in common than we ever acknowledged...by *we* I mean what is a primarily conservative listenership to this program. I'm no conservative...I don't know why you're listening to me, I'm a full-on libertarian and I hold positions that would please, thrill, annoy, and mortify those who say they are traditional or conservative...but what I'm saying is that we need to dig out of the trenches that we've dug for ourselves on these artifical sides of this artificial turf war and realize that we shouldn't be lobbying these clumps of mud at each other and we need to get together and start lobbying the clumps of mud at our mutual enemy, which has nothing to do with left or right...it has to do with freedom vs. control.
Window of opportunity:
Cease viewing Obama supporters as the enemy and begin to view them as
potential allies who can take all their political activism and begin turning it to things they already know that they want, but are not quite sure that Obama is actually going to give them. So we can educate them and work together to demand real change on real issues that the democrats are going to be kicking themselves over if this is part of their playlists...like an opposition to authoritarian surveillance...uberveillance and ubercontrol.

the infrastructure already exists... http://democratsforlibert...
...and Katherine's suggestion was actually set in motion with the Strangebedfellows Coalition.
http://www.accountability...
Who Are The Strangebedfellows?
Strangebedfellows is a unique and diverse left--right coalition which has come together to put a stop to the eradication of civil liberties in America. Modeled on a similar group in Britain, the initial Strangebedfellows group encompasses Ron Paul supporters (BreakTheMatrix.com, Rick Williams and Trevor Lyman), leading bloggers from the left (Glenn Greenwald of Salon.com, Jane Hamsher of firedoglake.com) and many more who share the view that warrantless surveillance, telecom immunity and other such outrages of the lawless surveillance state MUST END—AND END NOW.
Let's remove from power the key enablers of the tyrannical and lawless FISA 'compromise;' we can end the Patriot Act—and so much more. Join with us by pledging now—right here at AccountabilityNowPAC.com. Become a part of our transpartisan alliance of freedom lovers! Be a Strangebedfellow!
For me anyway, the message
For me anyway, the message would not have been so powerful should it have come from anyone else but Ron Paul. (Imagine the freedom message coming from the likes of Mitt Romney!) Without Dr. Paul's perfect voting record and life of integrity I would have just glossed over it as an unlikely campaign strategy with nothing to back it and no hope for success.
And though I am bothered by some remaining after election pessimism, there still lies within me some hope for the future. I agree that another Ron Paul in our future is improbable. That makes my last minute write-in for Ron Paul all the more sweet.
In the midst of a mad dash out the door I offer this
Anyone who believes those vote totals needs to wake up. Not to mention the fact that 45% of voters voted "No":

Then put two and two together. That is the answer.

What is the name of the radio programme? This woman has very good points.

I see your argument, vince
Of course there may be inconsistencies in the results. I'am sure not each precinct reported the votes of "hopeless" third party candidates correctly. And what is about the write-in votes? Having said this, as long as you don't convince me, that 10% votes for Baldwin/Nader/McKinney/Barr/Paul have been suppresed (and I doubt you can) I do stay to my point: the Ron Paul Movement hadn't any real impact on the outcome of the presidential election.
Fellowship of the White Rose
I agree
The Ron Paul movement had no effect on the presidential (s)election. However, it (and specifically waking people up to inner workings of the financial world) opened the door for projects like this to really take off:

I completely agree. There is no hope in politics
This was a rigged game to start, I just didn't know the extent. I think we all got an education. Still, I question the reliability of the vote count. I'm not sure that those numbers are anywhere near the actual votes. But the point is moot. It is clear there is no hope in playing by their rules, when we are the only ones forced to follow them. So I say we, the freedom lovers, the remnant and heirs of the founders' vision, need to come together geographically . This is something I have been turning over in my mind. The Free State Project was a noble idea, yet unable to make a real impact in the end. Let's find a larger space, with less current population. Montana comes to mind, also Idaho. If we had a concentration of numbers in one place, it would be a lot easier to make a stand for liberty together.

and is a timely reminder. I like the way he doesn't call it the "New" World Order...as it is certainly NOT new!!
I am thinking also along the lines of the "Hansiatic League" that you posted! I dont see it as realisitc to have just one state as in freestate project. In reality it would be better to have many communties nationwide & worldwide that support each other in principles of Liberty and through trade.

Actually I think not only on one Free State but about a network of Free States, a bit like the Hanseatic League http://en.wikipedia.org/w.... This concept may even have a worldwide perspective.

Thanks Cologne!
As we indivdually struggle with the reality of the outcome of each of our efforts and efforts as a movement. I do believe each of us needs to reflect and pursue with an open mind many viewpoints before declaring what should be the "right thing to do" moving forward both as individuals and as a group!
I don't believe there is one answer for "all of us" and I dont believe that is desirable. We will each have to decide how best to serve the ideals and principles of Liberty and lead by example on those fronts which suit you best.
This is a battle to be fought on many fronts and the first is within ourselves! . For me,I will be active where I feel it may do good but also spend some time on reflection and educating myself further.
This site has some interesting views ( from the xntryk1 post above) I am reading the " letters and comments " section
