Defeatism
Defeatism seems to run rampant here at the DailyPaul.com at certain times. I know for a fact that standing outside the Federal Reserve branch here In Denver WILL do some good. The activist group I was involved with recently had two street actions outside the Federal Reserve in the past few months. We attracted people by holding up signs and using a bull horn. On both occasions we handed out DVD's and talked to people about the Federal Reserve system. The people that were curious enough to talk to us were very receptive and were very curious about obtaining more information about the UNCONSTITUTIONAL Federal Reserve. I'm betting we passed out hundreds of DVD's during these street actions. Now IS the time to be hitting the streets to educate the American people that the root cause analysis of our economic troubles is the direct result of the Federal Reserve system. What better time to discuss the Federal Reserve than at this time when even the main stream media blabbers ad nauseam about the economic problems.
Of course nothing will change and nothing good will happen if you sit on your couches with a defeatist attitude. How does doing NOTHING turn into resolution? Holding signs, bull horning, passing out literature and DVD's will certainly reap benefits over the contrary. Ron Paul was right. If YOU the people do nothing then it will all come to an end.

Why is the 'End the Fed'
Why is the 'End the Fed' rally being held on a Saturday? Granted, I wouldn't be able to go any other day of the week, but it seems as though by rallying on a Saturday, we would actually limit the media exposure.

The April 15 DC rally was on a weekday. Probably 500-700 people attended. The level of attendance was a little depressing. Then the Freedom March rally was held on a Saturday. Most people who were there agree that there were 10,000+ people in attendance. That rally was awesome! Congress didn't care and the media didn't cover it. Likewise, the Fed is not going to see our rally and have a change of heart and agree to close their doors. And the media won't cover these rallies either. Getting through to the wolves is not the point. They don't care. The controlled media will opt to run more important stories, like Brittany Spears's latest drunk driving adventure or something equally compelling. The point is to energize supporters of freedom and get through to people ourselves, i.e. become our own media, and grow the movement on a grassroots level. We will probably get some local media attention. The MSM has not and will not help our cause. If that's not obvious to anybody by now, you haven't followed the Ron Paul campaign very closely. "The Revolution will not be televised."

Agreed -- to anyone who questions the effectiveness of such actions (I question it myself many times), I ask you: what do you suggest doing INSTEAD? What are YOU doing to end this tyranny?
I don't even care about MSM coverage any more, they are another enemy and I have no desire to get their attention. Retaking control of the media is but another goal we should strive for, via ideas like Break the Matrix.

What do you people plan on doing? Do you actually think that standing outside the federal reserve buildings holding a bunch of signs is going to make on ounce of difference? Our government is bailing out anything that moves, do you think that will stop? Or do you think people will stand up and say hey we won't stand for this anymore? And then what, everyone will still wake up tomorrow, go to work, pay bills and gripe and complain and follow the leader. This is reality.
So what do you suggest?
Just stay at home and veg out on your couch? I don't know how much good the rally will do, but just declaring defeat and doing NOTHING will accomplish NOTHING! Sure people will wake up the next day and fall back into their normal routine. But there will be some people who will go about it with something nagging them at the back of their mind. They will have learned about the Fed, and are beginning their process of awakening (just like most of us went through at some point). The rally is not the be-all-end-all. We need more presence but this is a great step in the right direction - far more effective than us staying at home and being couch potatoes.

I have nothing to suggest. I am saddened that the state of our country has come to this. I would be beyond thrilled if your protesting would accomplish something great like waking up so many people that a true revolution started but I know that it will not. The days of change for the positive of society is over. The days of Martin Luther King Jr. style protests are over. The days of freedom are gone. We live now under the control of government. My only suggestion would be to get off of the grid so they cannot find you.

with all of you. I am not trying to convince you otherwise, I am simply posing the question of what will this accomplish? I believe that this system that has been created is far beyond anyone's reach. And it is only going to get worse. I don't think protesting is going to do anything. I mean 85% of the country was against the bailout and yet it passed.

end the fed on 11/22, but why not wake a few people up and pass out some information while we're waiting for a better plan, or other opportunities to come up. Obama turned some people off with his FISA vote and more with his support for the bailout. He will keep doing this and, imo, these are opportunities. I don't know "their" plans, but I'm pretty sure people waking up to who really controls the Obamas and the Bushes and the Clintons does not work in favor of those plans.
