Dr Paul is everywhere these days. He has time to talk and state some good points. He must be the most popular politician after Obama. He gets to mention major culprits for our economic problems without being called a kook. Lobbyists and the FED. I wish he'd put more emphasis on it though.
He should really take these numerous media opportunities to say that he might run for president again but leave it vague. At least the seed would be planted NOW and could better grow when watered at the right time.
..., and demand, that in 2012 Ron Paul will follow through on his commitment given this last go round to 'spend every dime on the campaign' and 'be in it up the convention' because his 'supporters are expecting it'.
would trust and respect his decision about his own campaign. He has a great deal of experience and knows more than we do. If you don't know that then it may be that you've not read and listened to him in depth.
...no gods allowed in politics. Promises were made and not kept in 2008. It is the fastest way to lose support. Trust the official campaign again in 2012? No way...
I don't disagree with his decision to suspend his campaign in any way - what would have been the point to carry it on after it was clear he would not get nominated? He put all that money to better use starting the CFL and holding the Rally. If he runs again, he will have more support than ever.
...to suspend, but not cancel, did nothing but sow confusion among those who were working dilligently from March-April onward in the state caucuses to get involved in the national convention and who once there found themselves in the impossible situation of supporting a candidate whose offical campaign was apparently doing eveything in its power to undercut their activity.
Was it likely that he would secure the nomination? No, but he and his supporters could have had a tremenduous influence on the convention process. The Republican Party was terrified of *any* sign of support for Paul.
This is the logisitics if you will of the situation. There are also the promises made and not kept, either through ineptitude or worse, which destroys trust and can not be easily regained. Was the money, solicited on the promise of going all the way to the convention, put to better use? Very little, if any, was spent on local candidates despite requests for support and the CFL Rally took a big chunk out of the bank. It was a good show.
So, Ron Paul in 2012? Sure, by and large he has the right policies for this country and there is no one on the horizon that beats him right now but let's not be led down the garden path yet again by an incompetent campaign.
People with power in GOP will probably nominate ex-minister or hockey mom before they will nominate someone who has record of sticking to the republican principle all his life. Let's face it!!!

any debate on any issue. She is pretty and younger, but just not that smart and doesn't know the Constitution. She's a politician, and this next election depends on whether the sheeple have figured that out yet, and want more of same, if in a pretty package. She totally backed a loser - John McCain, on a war platform, and now he and Barack are "in talks" - so, again, "meet the new boss, same as the old boss".
She is in favor of the war, and sheeple are getting sick of war: the cost in terms of money, lives, and our ruined image around the world. If they try and re-institute the draft, which Dr. Paul says is entirely possible in order to keep these wars going, then it will make her stance even more unpopular.
I don't think Dr. Paul would run 3rd party for the same reasons he gave this time - too hard to get on ballots and get coverage. I respect him too and would vote for him in any capacity, but I believe he will remain in the Republican party.

First round KO. The ref stopped it at .001 seconds into the first! Unprecedented! The argument died as the bell rang...twice!
It looks like I have a good reason to keep the RP stickers on my vehicles! And don't forget to save those signs. I really hope he does run again in 2012, with the media attention he is getting lately things will definitely be better the second time around now that people know who he is!
everything - my signs, bumper stickers, buttons, slim-jim's. I have copies of almost all of the original campaign promo, which is beautiful. I got it at the HQ in Concord. It was much more than we had here locally. I don't even think it would have to be changed, except for the date, and now it would be a lot more real to people, plus now we would have more time to get it out there and circulating around.
agree with you that the media attention and regular media appearances (on Faux no less) will serve him well. I don't see how Faux could treat him with the same disdain this next time after having him as a regular practically every day on their business and finance shows, and with Cavuto saying that his ratings always go up when Dr. Paul is on his program. And ESPECIALLY when everything they laughed at him for in the '08 campaign is coming true in spades! We will have a big advantage this time!
The wheels for the next election would need to start turning immediately. Why do you think the GOP is contacting all Ron Paul supporters at every level. They know it takes time to develop a winning campaign run for the presidency. There are much preparations that need to start if Dr.Paul is going to run in 2012.
I have never given up on the message Ron Paul brought to the table for his bid for the presidency. From paving the way for my son being elected a state delegate and now preparing the way for him to be a committeeman this coming election and beyond is only a portion of what I am trying to do to preserve freedom.
Congressman Paul is a "World Wide " name. I believe if he decided to run in 2012, the Revolution that started this past year will only be a drop in the bucket compared to the support he would get from the people all over the globe the next go around.
The integrity of this man speaks volumes. Yes, I realize that there is more then integrity involved in the presidency. However, the words integrity, liberty, freedom, Constitution of the United States, founding fathers, and on and on are quickly being deleted from the political scene. So, the sooner the better for building towards the next election. We need to be much much smarter and not show are hand prematurely.
Let's take advantage of the msm useing Ron Paul phrases and statements he has been saying for years.
I'm not sure about the rest of you, but we fought many many battles this past election. We won some and we lost some. Let's learn from what we did and did not do and apply it to this next election. We must all come together for this mission if we are to be successful.
This past election cycle, Ron Paul made the decision to run in January 2007 and the campaign didn't begin to gather real steam until about mid-year. Jesse Benton has indicated that the decision will be made within 6 months - 18 months earlier than before. Plus he already has support to build on. Ron is 73, but is in good health and is reinvigorated from the grind of this past campaign. But a 3 1/2 year campaign run, for a man who will be 77 next election - we are asking a lot. I hope he decides to run and I think he is a man of such conviction and patriotism, and as the economy continues to tank, he feels the responsibility to continue to lead what he has started. The time is now.
another Operation Live Free or Die in New Hampshire, because the last one just did not give enough time for us to do the main activity they wanted us to do - canvas door-to-door. This was said to be the most important and effective activity, yet it is the most time-consuming. Anyone who can should move there for the next 3-4 years and make sure that this time he wins in N.H. It takes a lot of work and even two years from now is too late. I am hoping for an answer as soon as possible.
I'm not ready to see anyone else wear the hat quite yet. Potentially you could see a split between Gary Johnson folks and Jesse Ventura folks and honestly, we're not big enough to be splitting into factions and then coming back together as a movement as would happen in a traditional primary process. I don't think anyone else can take his place just yet.
I would speculate the reason they need to decide this early is that Dr. Paul plans on retiring from his Congressional seat. Dr. Paul does not like to miss votes and ditch his congressional duties like everyone else. We all respect that. At the same time voters in Iowa and New Hampshire like to see their candidates early and often. Something has to give. Perhaps they need to decide so early to raise the profile of a possible successor in his CD.
Although Ron Paul reminds me a lot more of Gandalf the Grey...
Truthfully, there isn't anyone to take his mantle yet.
Gary Johnson and Jesse Ventura both have the very important ex-Governor resume, but neither, in my opinion, can connect with voters because of extremes in speaking style. (I.e., Ventura has an extreme speaking style; Johnson has no speaking style.)
Chuck Baldwin is very strong at the podium, but has no political resume. That ensures he has no chance of being elected President.
Until Chuck runs for another office (and I hope he does), he is wasted on the US electorate--which will elect any idiot in the right place at the right time as long as he's been elected Governor, Senator, or has served in the armed forces as a General.
I don't think running actors like Tom Selleck or Mel Gibson or Chuck Norris can work, for the above reason. The public only elects actors after they have become Governors. So regarding celebrities--we don't have anyone ready to run for 2012.
The Libertarians don't really have anyone special (although I certainly hope they have learned their lesson, and go back to nominating people who are not special, but at least principled).
We have very thin choices. There's only one Ron Paul. He should run.

help Dr. Paul while eventually becoming a good strong presidential candidate for the future. We definitely need him.
So true: there's only one Ron Paul. He should run. Look what he did in a hastily-put-together (and gloriously spontaneous) 17-month campaign! Imagine what it would be like now, with all the experience that we all have.
I don't think anyone every really gave up the campaign. It is still out there and just took a break. Now that we caught our breath, we re-group, and finish the job!!
..If Paul runs.. he ought to hire a good speech therapist and get into a proven program soon. He gives a heck of a speech and knows exactly what he wants to say.. but it always seems like he falls a little short in the delivery. I don't know if it's his age or his confidence level. I know you guys know what I'm talking about..
Would anyone here offer him your services??? I feel he'd be humble enough to take someone up on the offer. In this soundbite.. 'sheep-calling' world.. Doc Paul's rambling and stammering will lose much of the population in debates and in his house floor speeches. Still, he could always use more of a sense of urgency.. perhaps more confidence in the message and the deliverance of said message.. I.M.H.O. of course! I know many of you say "but.. that's what I love about Ron Paul".. well that's nice but the rest of the population will compare him to the smooth and savy preacher/politician style of Barack Obama. The good news is that after 4 years of Obama and a looming failed economic sytem.. perhaps our country will actaully be ready for The rEVOLution.
Either way..
I'm sure we can agree that there's very little Paul needs to 'do' to be able to run for office again. We're with ya Doc!
I don't agree with you - I love the way he speaks and I always feel much better after listening to him and watching him. He is unique because he is truly himself. He's not trying to copy anyone or have any particular style, and he is much beloved just that way.
If Dr. Paul could deliver a speech the way Reagan did, he would be unstoppable. (And I don't think he's too old to learn).
On the other hand, the pain most people will be experiencing between now and 2012 may make them a lot less susceptible to smooth talking liars and much more interested in hearing the truth however it sounds.
God bless Dr. Paul. I hope we have a country in 2012 and that he is our president.
In some ways, I think his speaking style helps rather than hurts. It's difficult to explain...he speaks in the manner that a trusted friend would speak, rather than how a politician would speak.
But you do raise a good point.
Personally, I prefer speakers with that air of dramatic gravitas about them, like Reagan or Kennedy--Chuck Baldwin speaks that way, for example. But I think what works for Dr. Paul is alright for him. He has his own special, unique sort of charisma, that defies the conventional.
SUPPORT OUR FOUNDERS' AMERICA

I agree with you! One of the most endearing things about Dr. Paul is that he does NOT sound like all the other smooth-talking liars, he sounds like himself. How refreshing is that? Maybe he got a little tired at times from the gruelling campaign schedule. Whatever, I love him the way he is and I don't think anyone should worry about how he speaks or try and change him in any way. I can't wait to campaign for him again.
of time on our side, whereas with the '08 campaign we only had months to accomplish everything. Also people will hopefully now start to see that any media-picked candidates are going to result in "meet the new boss, same as the old boss". Out of this turmoil, we just keep putting back in the Constitution.
Then you have to do the dirty work - Which means getting involved with your local County GOP Executive Committee NOW- become a precinct committeemen/committeewoman - drag your friends from your local meetup group along to do the same (our meetup has meetings the night before the county GOP meeting, to go over strategy and educate each other) - and next time county elections come up - run one of your own for chairman - There are other positions available also - and build from there - if we all do this - we wont have a repeat of what happened this last time around with the Delegate situation - we will already be in place. Are you serious about who you want the nominee to be - or just wishing? - get involved in the party if your serious - from the sidelines your just a spectator.
At our last county executive GOP meeting - myself and a few others had prepared a speech, and didnt need to give all of it - because the chairman said most of it for us - him and the rest of the party regulars knew the party had gone down the wrong path and needed to refind its way to its conservative roots - and we are there to help them find it -The Time Couldnt Be Better For Everyone To Get Involved In Your Local GOP County Executive Committee - and Ron Pauls Republican Liberty Caucus - McCains Loss Is The Best Thing That Could Have Happened For Us!

I would love for Paul to run again. But lets face it we have alot of work to do first. Need to get rid of the electronic voting machines. Spread the truth and rais some money and we will need alot of money because it will probably be worthless by 2012.
Well, the Democrats and Republicans were impressed by our abilities to get millions in one day from the grassroots. Because they generally can't do that....they depend on wealthy donors--billionaires, and people who attend $1000-a-plate dinners.
So my question is: If we are serious, isn't that the next place to look? For wealthy donors?
SUPPORT OUR FOUNDERS' AMERICA

I hope you realized that most of the realllllllllly wealthy donors only contribute to campaigns because they expect a lucrative return on their investment Altruism is not one of their virtues ... it boils down to greed and power for them.
They instinctively know that Dr. Paul is the antithesis of a politician they can influence. Ergo, they won't be contributing anytime soon.
I'm not saying that all rich people are necessarily corrupt ... just that most of them benefit mightily from the NWO agenda. And, the agenda is to kill off the middle class and transfer its wealth to the already filthy rich as surely as God made little green apples. I suspect that RP's deep pockets people came from the middle class, never the rich.
You don't think that, to a billionaire, ending the Income Tax would represent a lucrative return on their investment?
Because if I was a billionaire, I would consider it a comfortable matter of selfish personal interest to elect a President who would end the graduated Income Tax.

will be any different than this election? Hillary Clinton will win in 2012 and some Republican shumck like Romney or Huckabee will run against her and lose.
be representing the demies. BTW, Ron Paul won't have any more success in four years due to the perception and his age. Having said that, his message can win. Someone fresh and "Presidential" in the eyes of the masses must make the attempt. Paul can be an advisor along with Schiff and put Napilitano in the Supreme Court. We can take the office back, but I don't think it will be with Paul at the helm, just as an advisor. In my opinion, he can do just as much good as an advisor.
given the state of the economy and the mess this country will be in there will be an outright revolution by then. Obama is the great hope, the saviour. This country will have 4 years of him and a Dem congress. After they see that what they got was far from what they thought they were getting, Ron Paul will be seen as the only candidate left/right who has been consistently right, honest, and appeals to both sides. His age will be less of an issue.

I don't agree with you - I love the way he speaks and I always feel much better after listening to him and watching him. He is unique because he is truly himself. He's not trying to copy anyone or have any particular style, and he is much beloved just that way.
I will say this..
In some ways, I think his
In some ways, I think his speaking style helps rather than hurts.

Exactly right, 4GodinVA,
I agree with you!
Dr. Know in 2012!!
PLEASE RUN AGAIN CONGRESSMAN PAUL!!!
Dr. Paul is still sharp as a tack and should be just fine with another run.
Many people stay viable well into their nineties. I was amazed at his schedule this year.
But he takes care of himself (it's that PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY thing!) and his (and our) cause really energizes him.
People who live life with as much purpose as he does, often seem fairly unhampered by older age.
AND IF HE RUNS AGAIN, WE'LL TRIPLE HIS SUPPORT---AT A MINIMUM!!!
All excellent points, Pawnstorm! And now we have the advantage
of time on our side, whereas with the '08 campaign we only had months to accomplish everything. Also people will hopefully now start to see that any media-picked candidates are going to result in "meet the new boss, same as the old boss". Out of this turmoil, we just keep putting back in the Constitution.
I cannot wait to campaign for this man again!
Ron Paul is My President!
Dr. Know 2012!
Are you Serious About helping Ron Paul?

I would love for Paul to run
I would love for Paul to run again. But lets face it we have alot of work to do first. Need to get rid of the electronic voting machines. Spread the truth and rais some money and we will need alot of money because it will probably be worthless by 2012.
Well, the Democrats and
Well, the Democrats and Republicans were impressed by our abilities to get millions in one day from the grassroots. Because they generally can't do that....they depend on wealthy donors--billionaires, and people who attend $1000-a-plate dinners.
So my question is: If we are serious, isn't that the next place to look? For wealthy donors?

Reality Check
You don't think that, to a
You don't think that, to a billionaire, ending the Income Tax would represent a lucrative return on their investment?
Because if I was a billionaire, I would consider it a comfortable matter of selfish personal interest to elect a President who would end the graduated Income Tax.

You make a good point here.
You make a good point here. Wonder if the RP campaign tried reaching out to wealthy donors, or if they were too focused on other things?
There were a number of RP events, private receptions, etc.
that had a door price of $1,000 or more.

Paul and Johnson
I still say a Dr. Paul and Gary Johnson ticket together, before the primaries even start, would gather the most enthusiasm across the nation.
How can you be optimistic that 2012
will be any different than this election? Hillary Clinton will win in 2012 and some Republican shumck like Romney or Huckabee will run against her and lose.
Hilary won't be running in 2012 when O'bama will
be representing the demies.
2012 will be different than 2008
given the state of the economy and the mess this country will be in there will be an outright revolution by then.
Age wont matter
McCain won the nom even with his age and horrible health. Dr. Paul would do awesome in 2012 because well get dealt with the shitty choices again and america will be tired of it but remember how great Dr. Paul is
I daresay Dr. Paul is probably more fit than
most of us.
