How about this?

You wouldn't have to worry about killing anyone.

played out....but hilarious

More of a comedy connotation as well. T&F has political symbolism.

perhaps well publicized

perhaps well publicized event using those sinister looking silhouettes that were popular a few years ago would be a good start?

Bea---aren't you a smarty!!

I could print those. Hell, I could tar and feather with photoshop. That's a great idea!!

My Georgia buddies will be getting one to carry on the 22nd in Atlanta if I can come up with it that fast.

Great idea!! I owe you a coke!

It's all about drama

Traditionally, tar and feathers was a propaganda stunt that involved a large crowd and a lot of publicity. For crying out loud don't hurt anyone. That would only make martyrs of them and criminals of you.I think the best effect could be gained if the event were to be organized quickly regarding a specific person and policy. Even better would be to use materials iconic of the issue, such as, motor oil, and shreds of the constitution. As an additional bonus, maybe we could ride them slowly through town on a rail atop a pick-up truck while the townspeople, already supplied with rubber gloves and buckets of manure, vent their frustrations. The Plumber

Did you see this yet?

I saw this truck on Dirty Jobs...

That mixed straw with another compound and would shoot it out with a rediculouse amount of force. It is used for erosion control. Here's a link to what i'm talking about. There's gotta be a way to mix feathers with some sort of sticky substance. This would be a great way to cover the entire White House with feathers. Or an entire congress. :)
http://www.inlanderosioni...

That's what I was originally thinking about.

The white house or capital would be hard. The FED would be super-easy and so would the congressional and senate office buildings. How did that guy in england get the manure on 10 Downing?

I think farmers have a similar truck

That shoots manure over there crop land. But I don't think it's as powerful as the one I'm thinking of. That 'shit' was hilarious too and got a ton of news coverage. If you know of any rich friends that would pay the clean up fine, this would be awesome. We could start a chip-in to donate to the cause.

I think the beauty of tar & feathers is the chance to finally..

...meet their contingency.

To 'weaponize' the tar or the feathers detracts from the effect of the overall experience. For many elected officials, it was the one and only 'meet and greet' they would ever have with their electorate and it would be a crime to deny them that simple pleasure.

I may not know the truth, but I know when I'm being lied to...

I don't understand

is the simple pleasure the act of tarring and feathering or meeting the electorate?

Both actually

Getting tarred and feathered and being ridden out of town on the top rail works best with the personal, hands on touch of a brush and bucket.
As someone else suggested, the rear of a pick-up truck would be a suitable modern equivalent to the top rail of a fence.
Shooting tar and feathers from a gun, denies 'them' and 'you' of the opportunity to meet and greet.

"The newly elected Chairman

"The newly elected Chairman of the St. Charles Missouri Republican Central Committee, Tom Kuypers, claims credit for preventing properly elected delegates from being seated. It was recorded a couple of weeks before the November election."

As good a place to start as any.... :)

You know Doc, he was what got me thinking about it

Jdayh showed me this a few days ago and that's when I got the idea.

Great minds, huh...LOL. We

Great minds, huh...LOL. We should make a thread with suggestions for the tar and feathers short list~

Good Idea, I just changed this one

...

Don't forget after you tar

Don't forget after you tar and feather them you ride them out of town on a rail.

"You are a den of vipers. I intend to rout you out and by the Eternal God I will rout you out. If the people only understood the rank injustice of our money and banking system, there would be a revolution before morning." --Andrew Jackson,
1828

I like this idea

It would send a strong message and anyone who knows a little bit of history will appreciate the metaphor. There is a good chance the first one to try it will get arrested and charged with assault or worse though. Is it time to risk so much?

I guess you just hope for a pardon when the "real" constitutiona

Government is elected

it will actually kill people

the skin needs to breath and if you are caked in the stuff then it will kill you if you can't get it off after a long time.

in the colonial times, people often died from being tarred and feathered.

You'd have to REALLY get them for that to happen

A water ballon full of spray foam and a bag of feathers would get the point across quite well without risking any lives.

I was repairing a vent on my roof

with a black, sticky, tar-like compound that comes in a can. It won't kill you, but if you get it on your clothes it won't come off. On skin, it's a bitch. It just has to wear off.

But to risk incarceration for symbolic action? I want to have both hands and feet free from shackles when the real action starts. You know it's coming.

Wouldn't it be great

to see people running around on C-span and DC dressed like chickens.

What about Molasses

it is real thick and sticky maybe we could mix something that really stinks into it. LOL

1 word----bees

I have to transport the stuff too----yuck.

my first vision is modified

my first vision is modified leaf blower, backpack type perhaps

ah ha-----that's perfect for the feathers

.......

expanding foam

in a small scale like a "skinny politcian", you could use one or 2 cans. On a large scale the guys that insulate new homes with it have sprayers that I think keep it in 2 parts till just past the nozzle.

It won't burn, is super stickey and messy and will attract any feather like material to it.

I trimmed my chickens feathers this afternoon to keep them from flying the coop, I think I'll go pick them up off the ground in the morning and bag them for later.

Thank you Dr. Paul for making me act on what I already knew was right.

This is getting somewhere.....

That stuff is good. It can be sprayed into a balloon and chucked before it sets up at all.

Realistically?

The tar never killed people or they wouldn't have bothered.

Modern-day, we could do it with roofing tar. Very filthy glop at room temperature.

SUPPORT OUR FOUNDERS' AMERICA
Support the Constitution of the United States

But how do we propel it??

that's the trick

Can't we brush it

Can't we brush it on?

SUPPORT OUR FOUNDERS' AMERICA
Support the Constitution of the United States

I don't think we'll get that close

....

I propose we

have a feather bomb. We could get a great deal in bulk. LOL

The pine tar they used to use was heated

It did not kill the victim but it caused burns.

Nowadays we have sticky roofing compounds that could be used that
do not burn the skin of the victim.

But....

This is a peaceful r3volution and going to violence like you
suggest simply isnt going to work for us.

Be peaceful Be patient
Exercise Self-control
Educate yourself. Study Study Study.
Form coalitions with those who agree with us on KEY ISSUES...
Like SMALL GOVERNMENT
ANTI-WAR
CIVIL LIBERTIES

WE DONT HAVE TO AGREE ON EVERYTHING TO WORK TOGETHER.

You obviously have not read a lot of my posts

Tar and Feather is toning it waaay down.

Your little peaceful revolution of love has not and will never work. For a long, long time, people have peacefully allowed the government to rape them and destroy our country.

I feel sorry for anyone dumb enough (or sleepy enough) to actually think this hijacking will be solved with peace. Why did Patrick Henry have to deliver his famous speech? Because he was surrounded by peacenics who believed the King would eventually listen if we were peaceful about it.

I'm sick of Peace, there is no peace. WE MUST FIGHT, I repeat it sir, WE MUST FIGHT!!

shalom, shalom, v'ain shalom

they say -peace peace when there is no peace. Patrick Henry was actually quoting Scripture when he gave that speech. The King had actually broken a covenant with the colonists, and Patrick Henry pointed out this.

I never knew that...what's the verse?

....

Jeremiah 6:14 and 8:11

6:14-- They dress the wound of my people, but only superficially, saying there is perfect shalom, when there is no shalom. (shalom may mean peace, soundness, wholeness, perfection, completeness-depending on the context)

8:14 repeats the charge, except for the words , of the daughter, inserted between wound and of my people. (I am actually using a translation from a Jewish believer in Jesus - he takes it from the Hebrew, but he uses a more dynamic equivelent approach to translating)

Yes, the tar has to be very

Yes, the tar has to be very hot...molten hot...and yes it can kill. Get a Grease Gun.

Grease gun!!! That's perfect!

I'll bet an air cannon with a glob of grease as a projectile (in a styrofoam carrier) would work perfect, same with the feathers.
I added a little visual to www.hideyourride.com/gop

Looks like the kind of guy that would just wipe it off and keep right on yapping. In the photo it looks like he is in the process of wiping it off and going on with his theft, I mean his point.

Thank you Dr. Paul for making me act on what I already knew was right.

A question,

does tar stick to slime?

“The ultimate result of shielding men from the effects of folly is to fill the world with fools.”

excellent point
