Are You Serious About Helping Ron Paul?

Ron Paul needs help getting more allies into congressional and senate seats - and Jesse Benton is now saying Ron Paul may run again. So - Are you Serious about helping him?
Then you have to be willing to do the dirty work - Which means getting involved with your local County GOP Executive Committee now - become a precinct committeemen/committeewoman - drag your friends from your local meetup group along to do the same (our meetup has meetings the night before the county GOP meeting, to go over strategy and educate each other) - and next time county elections come up - run one of your own for Chairman. There are other positions available also - and build from there - if we all do this - we wont have a repeat of what happened this last time around with the Delegate situation - we will already be in place.
Are you serious about who you want the nominee to be - or just wishing? Get involved in the party if your serious - from the sidelines you're just a spectator.
At our last county executive GOP meeting - myself and a few others had prepared a speech, and didn’t need to give all of it - because the chairman said most of it for us - him and the rest of the party regulars knew the party had gone down the wrong path and needed to re-find its way to its conservative roots - and we are there to help them find it. The time couldn’t be better for everyone to get involved in your local GOP County Executive Committee, the C4L, and Ron Paul’s Republican Liberty Caucus. McCain’s loss is the best thing that could have happened for us!
Link to contact information for your state GOP office - they can tell you who you need to contact in your county regarding when and where of executive committee meetings -
Rules tend to vary state by state, though many seem to follow the Robert's Rules of order - you can brush up on them here -

We have C4L Meetups and responsibilities broken down by District. We have a few motivated leaders who are getting the rest of us organized to commit to organize others. District leads are getting the PCOs to turn out for their GOP events and we are evangelizing our own candidates for party positions.
I think we can make a serious impact here. I for one will not go down without a fight and right now I think the fight is for control of the Republican Party.

If you really want people to do this, please tell them in general how it is done. Many studies have shown that people are more likely to do something when clear directions are given. I'd be more than willing to do something like this but I've never done anything like this before. What are the steps, how do we find out where we need to go, who we need to contact, etc.
For those who did it, please tell us more about the process.

A little better? your going to have to do a little homework yourself - but dont be afraid to ask questions of anyone here, and of the old party stalwarts you will be taking over from - let them think your just like them at first if you need to - you should get a feel pretty quick as far as where they stand on things, and just how open or closed you need to be concerning your intentions.

Won our Legislative District Elections in Arizona!!
We had a small victory in Arizona last night (Nov 17th) for the Campaign for Liberty! We won the Republican Elections in Legislative District 4 in Arizona. This is the largest district in Arizona covering the Phoenix area of Maricopa County and west into Yavapai County.
It was a tough fight and we may receive some backlash from the old guard of the Republican Party. But last night we secured all five positions on the Republican Legislative District Executive Board and 57 state committeemen. We accomplished this as Ron Paul suggested - by securing a larger number of precinct committeepeople than our counterparts at the election. They played a dirty game but we were well coached on the Arizona law, the Legislative District bylaws, and Roberts Rules of Order for conducting meetings. They really tried to silence us in numerous ways but we were ready for them.
We still have a lot of work to do but our State Representatives and Senators are beginning to notice!!
We must keep moving forward! Good Luck.

Here is the speech Nick Provadikis and myself wrote to give to our county executive committee meeting, feel free to use all or parts of it -
We are here not to lay blame and offer no path to success, but to honestly analize why we as a party lost so much this past election - and offer a roadmap to our future return to being the majority party.
The main reason our party is losing ground is that we have lost
credibility in the eyes of most voters. People simply don't believe the
promises made by Republican candidates for office because time and again, they have seen Republican candidates say one thing and then do something else.
We chide the Democrats for being big spenders, and yet President Bush and the largely Republican Congress from 2003 to 2006 pushed through the biggest spending increases and deficits our country has ever seen. The Federal Government is now the nations single largest employer, and 11 trillion dollars in debt and borrowing from foreign countries at an unprecedented rate - its becoming a national security risk. When I voted for Bush, I voted For a small government Republican president and got a government the size of which would make even LBJ blush.
We had Senator McCain calling President-elect Barack Obama a socialist and yet voted right along with him in favor of effectively socializing the banking industry with the infamous Wall Street Bailout.
As recently as the 90’s Republicans railed against a foreign policy of “making the world safe for democracy”, which is historically the Democrats foreign policy, going back to President Wilson - when Bill Clinton was President and took us to war in Bosnia and Kosovo Republicans were furious, and rightly so - President Bush in 2000 campaigned on a winning platform of no policing of the world, no nation-building, and promised to close bases on foreign soil and bring most of our troops home— in places like Germany and Japan and the Middle East.
Instead after eight years we now have a foreign policy that is costing us a trillion dollars a year. and I dont know how we as a party can say we're for limited government when we support big government overseas. Joe the Plummer sees the disconnect and sees it as dishonesty in the message - When I joined the GOP in the 90's we talked about getting out of the UN and ending foreign aid - that is a winning message that Joe the Plummer can get behind.
We say our party stands for secure borders and strict enforcement of
immigration laws, yet President Bush continually seeks to expand NAFTA and open up our border with Mexico in ways that jeopardize the rule of law and national security. And as we all know, Senator McCain has long supported a policy of amnesty for illegal immigrants.
There is a word for all of this: HYPOCRACY.
Voters smell it, and are turned off by it. And we have to stop it. We believe that it is solid conservatism that wins the day AND elections - limited government, individual responsibility and freedom, and a strong national DEFENSE - Secure the Borders! and certainly not conciliation and surrender to Democrats to the point that our differences become blurry.
With those core ideals of Conservatism we can regain the trust of the voters and rebuild the credibility of our party - when we couple that with nominating and electing GOP candidates for office that have a proven record of integrity and standing for true Republican principles, not just in front of the news cameras, or in sound bytes, but in their hearts and in their actions when they draft and vote on legislation, write and implement public policy, and in the conduct of their personal lives.
We need real Republicans; men and women of principle—not hypocrites.

Here we had the votes before the primary they were a little slow on the uptake, thinking we would just go away after Dr. Paul was not the nominee, but we didn't. We stood our ground on the issues and they quit.

Like Mr. Nystrom I was finished with the Republican party earlier this year - I even wrote a declaration of withdrawl from the party similar to Michael's - I was convinced that we could not work with these people who had supported John McCain - but a friend convinced me to come along to a meeting over the summer, and I saw as he did that the people running the county party were asleep at the wheel and about to crash, and now that they have crashed and burned in this election - are looking to us for ideas on how to get back on the road.

I really didn't want to be a precinct leader or work within the party but then I just made myself do it and now I'm so glad I did. The truth is that we CAN do this. We have the numbers. It's in our hands. For example, my county has 722 precincts that need to be filled yet we only have 7 precinct leaders in my county. Come on. I know that more than 722 people voted for Ron Paul in my county. Plus, I learned that if we just got all of our people who voted Ron Paul to vote, we would always win, easily. If you want to know more about that though, you have to sign up to be a precinct leader with Campaign for Liberty.

Don't know how it works elsewhere, but
our Parish committees in Louisiana, and the party State Central Committees are only elected every four years at the same time as our Presidential Preference Primary. (which is usually AFTER the caucuses) We would have had to sweep in the last election to have a shot for 2012. Instead, we will have to focus on getting active now, then running for these seats in 2012, so we can protect a real nominee in 2016. They have it set up here to prevent a 'takeover' even though somehow the neocons managed it.

are pretty funny. i started going 6 months ago and very soon found at that we are a do nothing committee. that will change.
If we attended our meetings as fluently as some daily paulers do this website, then we would have our country back in no time.

At my local group the man & woman who are state committtee people appear to be :::nodding off::: while we have our meeting.
Our meetings are so dull I call them "the great baked bean debates" the new business is pretty much confined to who is bringing baked beans for the next fund raiser dinner & who is setting up tables. B -OO-O-Ring!!!!
I'm striking my first attack for their position at our next meeting.
Also a FYI... if your STATE committeee people are too old & not involved for the quarterly meetings, that job can fall on the chair, ast chair or secretary in Florida.
