I’m not going to repeat all the sensible posts made in the last Naomi threads, the consensus of which expressed pleasure at her openness to learn from our side and seemed to acknowledge the good she was doing as a bridge ally preaching to her progressive constituency.

I don’t see that anything has changed… certainly not the fickleness of our own myopic consensus. Ugh!

Here’s what I read in this post election Democrat victory euphoria explanation to that constituency as to why her Armageddon warnings are still relevant ( I see it as her pitch as to why she shouldn’t be marginalized from their ranks):

“The right lesson to take from this election is NOT that the system is in working order without our active and radical participation.”

“a coup has taken place. I stand entirely by that statement”

Eight years of a sleazy Republican administration erected the apparatus of a police state…Well…yeah.
Vote fraud was rampant and systemic and largely helped the prevailing regime of Republicans…Well…yeah.
Those who sought to draw attention to voter fraud and restore some measure of electoral integrity have “faced ridicule, neglect and marginalization.”… well…yeah.
She warns we should be vigilant against “the next Rovian protégé in power”… as “we are in a war”.

Do you DPers not understand she is addressing Democrats who think they have turned the tide for change and are enthused about their messiah, Obama. I flinch equally when I hear Republican lip service, like the fawning over Reagan, and some of the mainstream ‘fundraising luncheon speak’ that even Ron Paul is obliged to engage in to remain a player on the fringe of the duopoly scene… but I understand and make accommodation for these conventions. Is it just because she resorts to the buzz words familiar to her audience that are received like blackboard scratching by some tender ears in this movement:

“Practicing proactive citizenship — citizenship undertaken in a revolutionary spirit by people who are aware of how fragile democracy is and how easily it can be subverted or even overthrown, and who, above all, take personal responsibility for their and the nation’s safety.”

It can’t be the “personal responsibility” part of that message. Well, exercise some, then, why don’t you! I seem to remember many of you saying you will stand with Naomi. Well, I still do. I don’t see how it makes any difference whether she resorts to our code words or theirs if her point was to make OUR POINT to her audience.

I think Naomi is a fine teacher. I’m glad she is conducting her seminars. We should not behave like incorrigible schoolgirls when class is in session.

she is glad/relieved now, but inside her she knows she has to be cautious. Obama will disappoint once he is in power and the enormous expectations will be disappointed... and then she will look at co-operation with Dr. Paul and realize we are much more than 1,2 million. Obama has made many promises, but he voted for the Patriot Act and will not abolish it. Also on Afghanistan he will disappoint the anti-war left-libertarians like Naomi Klein. In 2012 she will then support the GOP if Ron Paul or Gary Johnson is the nominee. The GOP will realize the issues they can attack Obama, like civil liberties, the war etc. It will not happen overnight, but in the next few months look for something...

She is having a hard time admitting that she's on the wrong side, even though her intentions might have been good. She needs to get over her ego problem. I think she will, eventually; but that doesn't mean that we have to wait for her. I think that the people here at the DP rattled her cage!

I defended her in a previous thread. I had great hopes that her coming here and asking us questions would help wake her up. I was wrong, and I am sorry. What sealed it for me was when in this article she said a that republican president might use those those combat troops here at home in the future. She gave absolutely no thought whatsoever to the possibility that Obama might use them too! She is a very well meaning but very Naive woman. She is too far gone to be of any help.

She's an author and is only worried about selling books.If most of her readers are B O supporters then she will pander to them.

that does not say anything of importance. I have some questions. Now, that everyone was on guard for vote fraud do you know if your candidate was eligible to be voted for? Do you know we are supposed to be a Republic not a Democracy? While you are concerned about more brigades being used on US soil, do you know that Obama is open about gun control and many other unconstitutional "changes"? Come on. What was she trying to recruit Ron Paul supporters for again? Maybe she wanted a group of people as backup when Obama expands his mandatory youth corps.

She turned on the Doc when he needed her and has backed the collectivist.

When a person is put on the spot as she was you find out who they are.
