where does it say the IMF "owns" Iceland.
If you take a loan from the IMF they have power over you but surely they don't "own" you?

I read a while back that the federal government owns something along the lines of 600 to 700 million acres in the U.S. There's no reason for the government to "hoard" all that land while we are in debt up to our eyebrows.

Gov should take a few hundred million acres and auction it off to the highest bidder. The U.S. would still have sovereign authority over that land and its use, etc, but the sale would generate enough money to pay debts, etc.

It would be better to do that than take a huge loan from the IMF and potentially lose the land anyway if there is a default.

The IMF already owns the corporation we call USA. This happened with the Bretton Woods Agreement.

Take National Parks and Monuments, for example. Those are under U.N. control because we gave those over to the U.N. Read this or this, or Google "who owns national parks" for yourself and read all about it. You can search the DP archives, too, as this topic has been discussed here before.

Lots of "our" land has been taken away from us right under our noses, and most Americans don't even know about it.

So, now the IMF/World Bank/NWO OWNS the rain forest of Brazil.

Could you elaborate on how the IMF/World Bank/NWO owns the Brazilian rain forest? I'm Brazilian, and this is a surprise to me.

From my perspective, Brazil defaulted in the 80's for essentially the same reason that Argentina defaulted more recently: very high government expenses driven by socialist/populist governments. A lot of people think that defaulting on the debt means "sticking it to the man", and up to this date many among the indoctrinated populace defend the notion of defaulting on international creditors.

The consequence of this default was that international credit only became available to us at very high interest rates.

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE ICELANDIC PRIME MINISTER’S OFFICE:

The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has approved Iceland’s request for a two year stand-by arrangement. Iceland will receive USD 2.1 bn. from the IMF.

Additional loans of up to USD 3 bn. have been secured from Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Russia and Poland. The Faroe Islands have announced that they would lend Iceland USD 50 million.

Of the IMF loan, USD 827 million will be immediately available with the remaining sum made over in eight equal installments of about USD 155 million each, subject to quarterly reviews. The IMF program will last two years and Iceland will repay the loan over the years 2012-2015.

There will be no stopping it short of armed intervention and I don't think we have the chops for it anymore.

We will be sold out by stupid or corrupt (doesn't matter which) politicians for a few shiny beads and trinkets. Kinda come full circle, haven't we?

No matter who you call, or how much you protest this will eventually happen.

Just like the bailout no one wanted and everyone protested against. And it only took two tries.
