The top three 'ideas' are still reaching out to RP supporters, embrace libertarianism and constitutional, limited government, so I think whoever created the site is aware we are big on the internet, if nowhere else.

I'm not sure how influential the guys behind this is within the GOP, though. Seems like there are some centrally placed people involved, but I don't know to what degree.

Anyway, the GOP definitely realize they need to do something after the last two elections (-06 & -08), or they're in goners. Which means they will have to find a way to appeal to _some_ new voters. I'm sure we are at least one of the groups they are looking into wooing.

They do need to make sure they don't alienate enough existing voters at the same time, though, so the areas where they'll move closer to us is likely to be those where other constituencies have overlapping concerns. Taxes and overall spending is definitely one such issue. We're not the only ones for lowering and simplifying taxes. Gun rights is likely another, depending on what Obama does in this area. As is 'states rights' and, if phrased in fiscal terms, possibly the war. Abolishing the fed is too far removed from most people's consciousness without a lot more education. Same goes for a radical reduction in foreign entanglements. And immigration and drugs might be viewed as too divisive.

But if the GOP moves to focus on lower taxes and spending, less restrictive gun laws, a smaller / cheaper war effort, and shifts their 'anti abortion' stance from an issue of the feds to one that should be dealt with at the state level, they are certainly going in the right direction, and voting for 'the least of evils' will start making some sense again.

no good

we tried to push the suggestion that they needed to get rid of local party leaders who undermined the primary process in favor of McCain, and it was dropped as "inappropriate" or some such.

Until they get rid of the

CFR, there is no room for us.

You're absolutely right.

The party is an embedded rat's nest of liars and constitutional abrogators.

Go ahead and run GOP to take away Billy Bob's local seat in the state legislature, but the national GOP has two-party politics down to a fine art, and as George Carlin says, "it's all a big club--and WE ain't in it."

Probably not, since we've already had some key issues, such as abolishing the Federal Reserve and ending the war in Iraq, etc, that were all at or near the very top of the list (most popular), and then a few days later, they were gone. No where to be found.

what are you guys talking about...am I missing something here??

The GOP's root problem is

The GOP's root problem is moral bankruptcy, and denial of the same. This website will is nothing more than "What lies do we need to tell you to gain your support". If the GOP platform existed within the HEARTS of the GOP leadership, they would not be seeking the advice of the populus.
