All these guys are dead or in prison now. This is one of the ways they discredited us before rounding up all the leaders.

I remember seeing this program. Donahue really messed the program up trying to stir up controversy for his ratings and trying to make his program controversial. But then they should have known that is what they would get. His audience was totally led into ridiculing and disbelieving. I'd sure like to hear that audience today. What is surprising is that it is 20 years later now. Also, I am sure Donahue told the militia to wear their uniforms on stage. The audience should have seen through that.

Ron Paul supporters number in the millions. If a substantial fraction of us just occasionally, informally get together and shoot or otherwise engage in 'militia' related activities, the whole 'kookiness' picture will be much harder for media to maintain, as almost anyone will know someone who is either a member or at least associates with a militia.

And not everyone has to be as 'hard core' as the most famous ones from the 90's. Just basic knowledge about how a community can maintain internal order and protect itself from external threats should professional law enforcement become either overwhelmed or turned against it, would go a long way.

So much of the blind allegiance to state institutions is simply due to unfounded fear about how to get by without it. It doesn't take much training and education for a community get over this, but it does require at least some basic preparedness.
