NIST Releases Final WTC 7 Investigation Report

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) today released its final report on the Sept. 11, 2001, collapse of the 47-story World Trade Center building 7 (WTC 7) in New York City. The final report is strengthened by clarifications and supplemental text suggested by organizations and individuals worldwide in response to the draft WTC 7 report, released for public comment on Aug. 21, but the revisions did not alter the investigation team’s major findings and recommendations, which include identification of fire as the primary cause for the building’s failure.
The extensive three-year scientific and technical building and fire safety investigation found that the fires on multiple floors in WTC 7, which were uncontrolled but otherwise similar to fires experienced in other tall buildings, caused an extraordinary event. Heating of floor beams and girders caused a critical support column to fail, initiating a fire-induced progressive collapse that brought the building down.
In response to comments from the building community, NIST conducted an additional computer analysis. The goal was to see if the loss of WTC 7’s Column 79—the structural component identified as the one whose failure on 9/11 started the progressive collapse—would still have led to a complete loss of the building if fire or damage from the falling debris of the nearby WTC 1 tower were not factors. The investigation team concluded that the column’s failure under any circumstance would have initiated the destructive sequence of events.
Other revisions to the final WTC 7 report included:
Expanding the discussion of firestopping, the material placed between floors to prevent floor-to-floor fire spread;
Clarifying the description of thermal expansion as it related to WTC 7’s shear studs and floor beams; and
Explaining in greater detail the computer modeling approach used to define where and when the fire in WTC 7 started and the extent of window breakage as a result of fire.
With the release of the final WTC 7 report, NIST has completed its federal building and fire safety investigation of the WTC disaster that began in August 2002. A three-year study of the collapses of the WTC towers (WTC 1 and 2) was completed in October 2005. More than 20 changes in the U.S. model building and fire codes have already been adopted based on the findings and recommendations from the investigation.
NIST will now work with various public and private groups toward implementing additional changes to the U.S. model building and fire codes including those based on the 13 recommendations from the WTC 7 report (one new and 12 reiterated from the towers investigation).

Folks, I know that we need to trust the government and the media on this one. They are after all the only ones who have any credibility in this matter. They are the ones who HOSED Dr. Paul and thus, are obviously right about everything.
Just one small point. In order to get the building to fall in on itself (implode) one column ain't gonna cut it. All building design is REDUNDANT. A single column failing and dragging the whole building down is not how it is done and this is why.
Demolition engineers would NEVER try to pull a building by cutting one column....it would mean disaster as the building would not fall straight down. It would tip over and wipe out other buildings....duh.
I got eyes. The building fell in on itself...straight down...they dropped it.............duh.
You cut the columns in the basement using the basic sequence every demo engineer uses and it falls in on itself...............duh.
Question
Are the welds, weld areas actually stronger than the steel itself? As with "liquid nails" 'n the like, it, they can be stronger than the wood its used on.
So where am I goin' with this? The exterior walls of these Towers seemed to be mighty flimsy. Cheap! I understand that there suppose to flow with the breeze, the wind, even so.
Steel building design is redundant
it allows stress to managed by "spreading" flex throughout the building.
This is why one columns failing is not an issue that would result in ANY building imploding.
If it was demo engineers would simply cut ONE central column and the building would drop into a pile.
One column failing does not just communicate 100% of the failure to the next column and then the next etc....this would mean that all steel framed building are GD death traps.
Look at bridge construction...it is the entire structure that holds the structure up...not some component. You will learn that the grid transfers stress throughout the rest of the grid assuring safety for occupants.
Just like the Daily Paul we are powerful as a group.

Smaller wood sizes are being used cause of the design of these newer rafters, I remember the old ones, built piece by piece verses the pre-fab rafters. The story goes, the design makes 'em stronger. Not sayin' that the Towers were weak but it sure appeared like it.

Thermodynamics, physics, melting points of metals, disintegration and vaporization of massive objects (such as airplanes...) My Goodness, we are under attack! Run for the hills, no one is safe anymore! The Laws of the Universe have secretly been changed! Do not enter any building on fire, especially if you are a fireman, because it will fall down and remain in a molten state for several weeks. When it does fall down, due to office furniture burning (but not the paper, it goes flying about) the cars and trucks around the fallen building will catch on fire and melt.

Rivets and welds are "conspiracy theory"
They didn't use bolts and welds and rivets and such in WTC7. Instead, it was built like a house of cards, see. All skyscrapers are built like that--only "conspiracy theorists" doubt that.

Saw their picture and WOW! I can't beleive they even tried. Compare their diagram of WTC 7 with a video of it collapsing and this whole fraud just slaps you accross the face. They were way better off by just omitting this study.
