Forensic audit on home loans - Remember this post?

About a month or two ago there was a post on here about two companies that conducted forensic audits on home loans. Often they were able to find errors in the original paperwork which would allow them to renegotiate the principal and the terms of the contract.

I think one company was based in San Diego and the other in Florida. Does anyone have a link to this post?

That's the one.

Thanks!

That other info I put in my post must have been from an article I read while searching for additional info.

If you borrowed the money...

and your lender committed no fraud, you should pay the loan or restructure rather than look for technical issues that might allow you under the law to repudiate the debt because that would be immoral.

Did the lender have the cash on hand to loan you?

The entire process if fraud. They have no funds, they go create them electronically when you sign the death-contract.
But you keep defending the right of the powerful to pretend everything they do is lawful - I am sure they appreciate your obedience.

Not my loan, but ...

... I do agree that a person is responsible for his debts. Renegotiating the principal by arm twisting would fall under the immoral category. However, banks have often been willing to work with borrowers to adjust their interest rate so they can make their payments.

I know someone in the mortgage industry area who is working with clients to renegotiate their ARMs so they can make their monthly payments. He mentioned that he was talking to a company that does these audits and I remembered the post. I couldn't remember all the details though. It does have the potential to be shady.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Thanks for everyones help.

I thought I saved the post but I couldn't find it. I was pretty sure it was a daily paul post or a comment in one of them. I checked lew rockwell's blog but it wasn't there.
