Where is a good place to live outside of the US?
My husband and I are thinking about moving outside of the US when our last son graduates from high school in 2010. I know that the New World Order controls the whole planet but I think here in America we are sitting ducks. Any ideas besides tuck your head between you knees and kiss your ass goodbye?

Self reliance is KING!!! (I'm not sure where to go, but, I'm willing and able) Maybe we should start a group.

Think about it, man. Job market is decent, no state income tax, you're personal info isn't put in a Real ID database, the Patriot Act isn't recognized up there.

I gave it a little rethink.
I gave it a little rethink. The problems we face today are global in scale. The problem is everyones problem. Canada shares a great many of the global problems but particularly the geographic one. Many Canadians are privy to the NWO. Many will not do down without a fight. Strength in numbers... They are our brothers and sisters in this. If the SHTF then amass at the border. That is one possibility.
Under the threat of state sponsored bio-terror... Seclusion might be preferred.

At least GW and Laura think so. They purchased 98,500 acres there, right next to the ol' reverend moons' property. Come on fellow Paulites, wouldn't you just love living next to the man!
Let’s go there. How ’bout it? ;-)

LOL, I guess you are right,
especially if you want to run from the law. It appears that Paraguay is one of the few countries without an agreement with the USA to have criminals returned to their own country.
this naiveté is astounding
You go through an immigration process to emigrate anywhere.

I own an adult chat room...(I will not put the link up because Im sure a few would be offended)
The regulars in my room are from the USA-Canada-Rep. of Ireland-Australia-the UK...but I have met many from around the world who drop by time to time.
Those I get a chance to speak to in detail...they are all facing the same problems we are in one degree or another. Everyone agrees the governments of the world have gone way to far...most throw up their hands and just dont care...Its a shame.
I do direct them to the DP...and those who read it love it...I hope they pass it on...

The Big Eye Land
The Island of Hawai'i: it's like a whole 'nother planet.
Also, Hawaiian Nationalists are trying to leave the US, and take their land with them. They could be benign fellow travellers, although many of them (judging from their rhetoric) are racists and marxists.
As always, the enemy of my enemy is often a strategically useful ally.
The Freedom Formula: Au + Ag + Cu + Pb
2 Friends moved to the Big Island of Hawaii
and both said it was like living in a 3rd World country. There is no trash pick-up, you have to drive your garbage to the dump. The social scene is also centered on the dump: islanders meet at the water-bottle fill-up station. No one dares drink the tap-water, and some people get sick from the rainfall-catchment basin water when they use it to take showers. Cell phone service is crappy, and there are no LAN lines, little DSL, most people are stuck with dial-up modem internet service if they can get on-line at all. You also have to fly to Honolulu for health care if you need surgery or to consult a medical specialist in any field. It also rains more than in Seattle, and people get Volcanic Ash Alerts several times a year. Then there's the lava....
Nope
You're wrong about a couple of things, comrade. Average rain fall in Seattle is almost double that of Hawaii. See for yourself at the weather.com links below. There is trash pickup everywhere but in rural areas. Cel phone service is crappy in rural areas in Indiana and Illinois too.
http://www.weather.com/ou...
http://www.weather.com/ou...
I'm talking windward side of the Big Island
near Hilo, not the statewide average (which is skewed on account of leeward areas always receiving scant rain compared to windward areas of the same island).
this is a big problem I have with the Hawai`ian nationalism
If a haole (or anybody) honestly wants to learn hawaiian and live the hawaiian way, then you should recocognize them as kanaka. Spirit of culture is not limited by blood, and the hawaiians have long had a tradition of `ohana. The last straw was when Kamehameha schools refused to accept a young woman who was adopted into a Hawaiian family at age three, because she had no hawaiian blood.
1/32 is pretty dilute, anyways... I'm going to intentionally be offensive here: I know people who went to kamehameha who were whiter than wonderbread.

What everyone should understand
is that people from all countries can throw their "issues" in a bowl, and when they understand the way things are in other countries, they will QUICKLY take their own issues back.
Our issues or problems follow us everywhere - they just take on different names and places.
The U.S. is STILL the best place to live and letting your life pass you by because you believe the NWO is coming tomorrow, is a BIG waste of time.
The fact they've been at it for a hundred plus years is enough reason to believe they may never get it accomplished!
They simply cannot figure how people will act, how human nature will impact it, how many people will come to their senses and take a stand, some will gain a conscience, and...
So, live YOUR best life today, be prepared, do whatever it takes to improve our circumstances. If there are enough good people here, we can make a difference.
Most of us know it is addressed in the Bible and ultimately, it's in HIS hands and in HIS time.
I REFUSE to be scared, live in fear or scarcity, or believe it is out of our control.
As bad as things are, compared to the last Great Depression, it i nothing! 40% unemployment then - 4200 banks closed then - were in the depression for 5 years before people even knew it!
We are resilent people and can start again and again, if we are educated and prepared. Those who have not earned their own wealth will jump from windows because they will not know how to recover. Those who worked and earned their own way will understand and start again.
It's about family, health, love, faith, and [insert your thought here].
When everyone is in the same predicament, we won't need money. We will trade services, commonaties, talent, etc. etc. Money was only invented by man because some were greedy and felt their service was worth more than another's.
Network with friends, family, neighbors, etc. You will be fine. Forget all the scare tactics used on this thread, we can control things here and now.
What we believe, we draw into our lives. Napoleon Hill, in "Think and Grow Rich" said: "What the mind can conceive, and believe, it can achieve". Ford did it - Edison did it, and millions of others!
The title is a bit deceptive, because in this case, Rich equates to wealth which equates to happiness and prosperity. Money, in and of itself, will NOT make you happy, nor what it can buy. You must achieve these things on your own, and in your own mind.
Well put.
I was going through some historic records today. That made me consider how flat out terrible living conditions must have been in many parts of the United States a few generations back.
I also read the Bible (Revelation 17 and 18). I thought about what’s on my mind quite often—that all the garbage we face seems horribly disastrous when we ponder on it a lot. (But that could be a blessing in disguise. We definitely don't want to lose our "fight" when dealing with the trash on Capitol Hill.)
I'll no doubt get some disagreement, but things aren't that bad here.
By the way… We do not have a policeman waiting around every corner to pounce on us. Cops are not our enemies.

Beautifully spoken. Thank you!
Since 9/11, my husband and I have waffled off and on about leaving this country while we still can, but it always comes back to, no, we have friends here, our kids love it here, our hearts have roots here and besides there is no other country in this world that has the Declaration of Independence, the American Constitution and Bill of Rights no matter how many 'illegal' bills have passed to eliminate them completely! I believe there may come a time when all those nightmarish attempts at destroying our laws and rights will come to an end and we start all over.
I love this country of my birth because of its significance for guaranteeing sovereignty so each soul may live out their God-given destinies! I believe that to be very, very sacred.
Each time I imagine myself living somewhere else, I can feel in my imagination my heart tugging at needing to be back here soon again. So, no, it doesn't look like we are going any where except for traveling or visiting.
Well, said
thanks for the wisdom.

Where to live outside the US?
Hi and greetings from Vancouver in Canada!
Although I am a Norwegian citizen, I am right now in Vancouver in Canada talking to some clients and business partners. I wanted to add my comment to this thread.
Five years ago I visited Panama for the first time in my life. And I have to say, I just fell in love with the place. Since then I have been there FIVE more times, and when I am done here, I am going back there for the sixth time. This time I will be there until January of 2009.
During this time I will find a place to live and prepare to move there for good. This country is THE country for the future. South America has a GREAT future in todays world of severe financial problems, and Panama is THE business and financial center for all of South America. In fact, I have written a book about Panama and the many opportunities this country offers. It was written in Norwegian, but I am now in the process of translating it to English. You will be able to get a FREE copy of the e-book version by visiting this site:
http://www.panama4living....
As soon as I am done translating it, it will be sent to you! Hope to see you in Panama soon! The country offers so many advantages, including the possibility to live there and run your global business without paying any taxes at all!! THAT is one good criteria for real FREEDOM!
Moving elsewhere
to escape the tentacles of the Zionist forces (I do not mean the Jews as a people!) is an illusion, in my humble opinion.
I moved to Australia well over 2 decades ago. Although I believe we appear to live pretty much without obvious intrusions and visible police state like changes, to those who are observant will realise that it is no different here. The threats are there, liberties are taken away in very very tiny portions and people become used to it, even see the positives of it and accept it. Then another liberty is taken away, same slow process but in the end the result is the same: we are robbed of our liberties.
The media is controlled to the hilt, economy is down the drain following the trend world wide,health-care is dis-ease care with trials done on innocent people by the Big Pharma (in the nineties mass trials of psychotropic drugs on country people) Ref: Selling sickness: the pharmaceutical industry and disease mongering by Ray Monihan. Internet surveillance, for as far as it isn't already working, is going to be extended. Reasons given to have that put in place are to keep the children safe from porno, or euthanasia suggestions.
Fuel is under control, electricity is under control, being indoctrinated about global warming/climate change. We have 'perfect storms', the latest only last week in the Brisbane area. Of course this is not labelled as such but again, those who are observant will connect the dots. Agriculture is under control, not in the least due to wide spread droughts. We are now being programmed that using the word 'drought' is not desirable because it ' upsets the farmers' Never mind that the farmers are upset anyway, we are now suggested to use: dry weather.
I live in a drought region and it is hard breaking to see what is happening. The messing around with the weather happens here the same as in other areas on this planet.
I love it in Australia and would be hard pressed to move back home (which is The Netherlands where we lived with the threat of the cold war in the back yard so to speak for many years). Please don't be blinded by the superficial appeal of a country as portrayed in commercials, movies or other propaganda like materials.
If you are serious about wanting to escape the political system you have to analyse the political system of your chosen country, follow the money trails and you might come to the conclusion that leaving your beloved country for the new chosen country is not going to bring the peace and quiet to live your own life as you imagine. The plans of the Zionists are well in place, worldwide, and they are going forward full blast.
Fight the system with all it will cost!!.
on paper
i'm still a canadian citizen and i could go back anytime. but in my heart i am an american so i will make my stand here . if this country goes to hell you can bet your ass the entire world will follow ,there will be no where to run so its here i make my stand. fear is what will kill this country if we let it.
I daydream about leaving but
I daydream about leaving but I think you are right. I plan on fighting this as long as I can. "i'm madder than hell and am not going to take it no more". My reason for being involved in the revolution is not because i think it will work but because its the best way to fight. I get so frustrated i backbite people on the dailypaul!

What about Ireland or Portugal?
Both these countries are neutral. My grandparents are from Ireland, so I could become a citizen pretty easily.
fiancee is Brazilian
we've already started shopping, but the earliest we could move to a ranch is about 4 years from now... we could make the move back to her family in a pinch. I do like the boat idea, very compelling. If you are at sea doesn't the world recognize admiralty law as the system at sea? But doesn't a ship need to be 'registered' to a nation?
I wrote a LONG and descriptive blog on the
. Dominican Republic. I am a Yachty also. I have lived here almost 2 years. The boat idea is wonderful and mildly dangerous. You can get some bargains. My blog on DP was A Breakdown on freedom in a Banana Republic.
Its was indepth with pros and cons. This is probably the most FREE COUNTRY I have visited, and I have been to over 30.
If you want I will refloat that blog if you guys cant find it.
No zionist agenda here;)
been there, done that
they tried to kidnap my 6 year old daughter when we were living in Rio.
and then I got fined for overstaying my visa because my permanent residency application was delayed. My wife is Brazilian but I wasn't quick enough with the bribes...
Brazil?
The Brazilian currency is devalued and re issued every 3 years. They have struggled in a big way. Beautiful contryside though
For Freedom!
very true, but still
Brazil is one of the new 'emerging' countries.Still not a safe place in the cities but they do know monetary changes, recent military coups and such and seem to take them in stride. Lots of progress to be made, but renewable hydro-power and new oil reserves, large mining and mineral resources, it shows lots of promise. Plus the women :)
There are some possibilities...
My wife and I are in the same situation - becoming empty-nesters. I have been suggesting we consider moving but she won't consider leaving family and friends by seeking safe harbor in another country. When I suggest how bad things are and how much worse they are going to get, she responds that that's all the more reason to stay close to our people. Maybe she's right, I dunno, but regardless, it's an argument I can't win.
But to your question - I suggest you first research two things in your quest. First, how do you get your money out of the country while avoiding heavy taxes and to ultimately disconnect from US monetary and tax policies.
Some would suggest that you establish a foreign banking account in what are commonly referred to as "pirate coves." Pirate coves are countries that provide banking privacy, some do not comply with all international standards. For example, the Jersey Islands, several islands in the Caribbean, Lichtenstein - and many more. This quickly becomes illegal if you fund a secret, unreported bank account so I would advise against doing that.
As long as you are a U.S. citizen, you have a relationship with the IRS, whether you like it or not. And if you invest or do business offshore, the IRS needs to know about it. If you truly want to decouple from US monetary and tax policies/collections you need to become a citizen of a country with more favorable monetary policies and financial privacy and less taxes.
The second thing I would suggest you research is establishing citizenship in a foreign country. And, you don't have to be a citizen of the country in which you chose to inhabit. For example, you may qualify for instant citizenship in St. Kitt if you purchase real estate valued at $250,000 or more. And, you are free to rent or lease your property - you don't have to live there.
That said, Panama is really nice, lot's of Americans cheap living. Costa Rico costs more to live in but very nice. Dubai is becoming very popular as a safe haven for the rich - expensive to live there.
You will need to renounce your US citizenship
to have any hope of ending your "relationship" with the IRS. That can only happen after acquiring a second citizenship. With that said, if the IRS "decides" that you have left the US for tax purposes they can call you a "tax citizen" for up to ten years after leaving the US. All US citizens must file income taxes while living abroad (it's a felony to not file). However, you might have become a citizen of, say, Italy and renounced your US citizenship -- if the IRS has declared you a "tax citizen", you are still required to file US income taxes even though you are officially no longer an American citizen.
It would be easy to tell the IRS to "shove it" as long as you don't mind waiting ten years to visit family and friends.
That's not a big worry for me...
While I have accumulated some modest amount of wealth, I'm sure the IRS won't bother with me. Most who show up on their radar screen are criminals who have left the country with stolen or ill gained wealth. Or, people with more zeros behind their net wealth.

"I think, therefore I am pissed-off!"
Been there and doing it now.
I did find some land I liked, so now at anchor for extended period of time. BUT I LOVED IT. Dont need big guns, There are alot of other weapons that will not give you such immigration problems. Bang stick, Paint ball rifle with pepper balls ammunition(EXPENSIVE), projectile Pepper spraw ect. Guns are a hassle, some island countries require you to check the weapon in, and sometimes it gets stolen while there. Avoid trouble spots, dont be in anchorages with villages near by such as colombia and amazon. You should be ok.
But the economic turmoils that are happening are making the locals a little more desperate, and it seems crime is on the rise down island. Dominican Republic is about the same for crime.

A friend of mine asked me an
A friend of mine asked me an interesting question, what if you renounce your citizenship and head out to international waters in a big sailboat or something and decide to live in international waters for the rest of your life? Who's jurisdiction would you be under? What country would you answer to if you remained in international waters, if any? If you comitted some sort of crime out there(for instance, lets say you decided to have two wives out there, which is considered illegal in most other countries), who would you answer to? Would you be considered an illegal alien in every country on the face of the earth and be relegated to roaming the seas for the rest of your life? Some interesting questions, and I could not answer them all.
Dont renounce citizenship, thats dumb.
My favorite situation: Live (work) in Saudi Arabia. Travel the world and pay no Federal Income Tax. =)
No matter how bad it gets keep the US passport and use it to your advantage. It will open a lot of doors for you whether you are in Saudi or Singapore.

You need to have a passport from SOME country...
in order to even pull into dock for refueling and supplies.
