Could this be Santa Klaus?

It feels like Christmas already. All that any of the boys and girls want for Christmas is LIBERTY. We are all guilty of filling our lives with "things", but that never works; it only creates more frustration. Liberty is the one gift every parent should strive to give their children..... Unlike the newest toy or game, it will always be in fashion, never lose an iota of its value and will be cherished more as the years close in on our little ones.

If your child asks for a fish, would you give him a stone?

Give me Liberty... or else!

This glimmer of hope is very exciting news!

a taste of EU like democracy and freedom:

Last week I was part of a delegation from the European Parliament’s Constitutional Committee (called AFCO). The delegation went to Prague, with the purpose of paying an official visit to the country that is taking over the EU presidency. Naively I though that it would be a courtesy visit. But no! I was really mistaken. The underlying agenda of my co-travellers turned out to be to try to threaten/scare/demean the Czech Republic into ratifying the Lisbon Treaty, before taking over the presidency.

this is good news. notice

this is good news.

notice how the NYT did their absolute best to discredit him but even they had to say: "[he] helped to transform the Czech Republic into one of the former Soviet bloc’s most successful economies"

how blind/stupid can socialist get?

I was in Czech Republic this

I was in Czech Republic this past summer. The people of the Czech Republic HATE this guy. He is a global warming denier, and, as our tour guide said, 'a huge douchebag.'

He approved a US radar system (related to the missile shields in Poland) in the Czech Republic, against the will of the people.

Good Lord! A GLOBAL WARMING denier!

Heavens to Betsy! He's--he's--a MONSTER who hates the PLANET! Next you'll be saying he burns Al Gore books!!!

SUPPORT OUR FOUNDERS' AMERICA
Support the Constitution of the United States

Being called Douchebag usually means you are on target

You don't get flack unless you are flying over the target. The reason European socialists hate this guy is because he is promoting the same things Ron Paul does, minus the grandfatherly personality. I'm heartened that socialists are calling him a douchebag.

Global warming denier?

I can't fault him for that. The evidence I've seen points towards Gore's thesis being incorrect.

Cameron, have you seen the documentary The Great Global Warming Swindle ?

Speaking of global

Speaking of global warming....tell us about that Cameron. What do you know about it, and how is it affecting the climate?

http://www.1776solution.b...

I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice! And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue. Barry Goldwater

LOL

Yes Cameron please tell us about global warming :)

Klaus is well-loved except by europhiles

First, Cameron_DeHart, Vaclav Klaus is President not Prime Minister, Just like in Germany, the President has no real power - just serves as a figurehead.

Second, the prime minister , Topolek, is the one whose government negotiated the missile deal with the Bush cronies.

Third, you say the people hate him - well it depends who you spoke to. I know some people who adore this guy cos he has been truthful and genuine. Topolek is a NWO europhile, while Klaus has done everything within his capacity to stop the nwo Lisbon treaty (rejected by the Irish referendum last June), which is an amending version of the EU constitution (rejected by the French and Dutch referendums of 2005).

Unfortunatley, Topolek would not have a referendum - had that been so the Czechs would have given an overwhelming NO.

And lastly, I don't want to disappoint ppl, but the person taking over from Sarkozy is indeed Topolek the prime minister not Klaus the president. (in France it is like inthe US, where the president is the decider).

Every time you guys say NWO,

Every time you guys say NWO, it reduces the legitimacy of your argument.

Hahahaaa.

would you look at this troll. I love it.. Never question anything.. The NWO is just a big lie and conspiracy..

Man if this were my house and you were in it, I would run you out with mace.

Bug spray.

:)

if this were my house and you were in it

He wouldn't make it to the front door before his wig was split.

Thats peaceful. I'm sure Ron

Thats peaceful. I'm sure Ron Paul appreciates such proposals coming from his rank-and-file supporters. haha

I question plenty. I refuse to subscribe to an unsubstantiated claim of global conspiracy, when history and current events points to the contrary.

ummm

what are you on?

Can you be that disillusioned?

Let me jog your memory.

September 11th, 1991 - Bush 41 announces the NWO to the world and says that "It WILL come".

September 11th, 2001 - EXACTLY 10 years later almost to the hour - 9/11 happens - spur the PATRIOT Act and global war on terror.

I live in TX and the Trans Texas Corridor and CANAMEX trade corridors are the REAL DEAL.

Please show how history debunks the fact that those in power try to gain greater power by oppressing greater and greater numbers of people. How a bout that Roman Empire? They certainly did NOT try to conquer and enslave the entire world. Neither did Ramses in Egypt...

Please prove all of us WHACKOS wrong.

you reduce your credibility. Read the back of the one dollar bill. Novus ordo seclorum. New order of the ages.
Now, educate yourself.
There is even a COMPLETE IDIOTS guide to the NWO just for you....

It is clear where you come from

Cameron, I seek no legitimacy with a person like you, who scribbles without checking his facts.

If you cant find legitimacy

If you cant find legitimacy with ME, then you wont find legitimacy with anyone in America.

Oh god

Sounds like a good guy.

I hope he doesn't get assassinated.

Lisbon treaty

Klaus strongly opposed LS however it was approved by the Constitutional Court today(http://aktualne.centrum.c...). This is very bad news as it IMHO will be easily passed in Parliament which leaves Ireland alone with their No vote. Last chance is that Klaus won't sign it (his signature is mandatory) but it won't change much :(.

Bad news indeed, Thomaas!

Nevertheless thank you for keeping us updated. Having said this, the EU threaty is still in deadlock due to the Irish No. And the German Constitutional Court has yet to decide on the case brought forward by the German repesentative Peter Gauweiler (the closest to a Ron Paul-like figure we have in Germany). And perhabs teh ongoing economic crisis will finish the EU as we know it.

Fellowship of the White Rose

I'm not sure anymore. I feel

I'm not sure anymore. I feel like they can do whatever they want. If it was Germany or France ... but who cares about Ireland? They had to explain themselves to EU burocrats(!) why the vote was no. You should be here (Ireland) after the vote. They were so scared that they will be excomunicated/isolated! I don't think this is the feeling you should have after doing your rightful decision among equal partners...

If they ignore the Irish No

it would be a blatant breach of international law. Don't think they dare this in Europe. All they might do is:
- let Ireland vote again (But it's too risky to receive another No. And as far as I know there is no date set for this)
- exclude Ireland or downgrade the membership (Apparently this option is off the table. Maybe because Ireland was the European success story.)

IMO we will soon see the EU and especially the Euro zone disintegrate or at least lose importance. Didn't you notice the rift between France and Germany? I guess the relations weren't that bad since 50 years. The ongoing crisis will force the politicians back to pay at least lip service to national interest. Don't forget that people may get very angry about our 'elites' when the ongoing crisis unfolds. Have you seen the pictures from Iceland? Can you imagine what will happen in countries like France, Spain or Greece? And even in Germany things might get very uncomfortable for some people when hyperinflation strikes. I don't think they will have time to spend on fancyful things like the EU treaty.

Klaus' speech in Court yesterday

Vaclav Klaus yesterday addressed the constitutional court in Prague, which only this morning (it is now 11.30 Central European Time) decided that the Lisbon treaty is not in conflict with the Czech constitution.

His speech is insightful:

Some clarifications from a Czech guy

First of all, Mr. Klaus and Dr. Paul are sort of frieds, at least couple of years ago Dr. Paul accepted his invitation to give a speach in Prague on the occassion of Czech language publication of Human Action (video here: http://wemsite1.vsb.cz/ma... - only MSIE, dr. Paul app. from 37:00 minute).

So I guess, gavination, that some kind of conference would be quite possible.

Colognepaulist is right, our president doesn't have that kind of power as the US, French or Russian president, but his position is not only ceremonial either. He is appointing high military officials, Supreme Court judges and - best of all - central bank governors. Actually, he's already appointed three CB governors with libertarian, non-interventionist, anti-globalist leanings! :)) I guess it's a world record.

As for your comment, easyhumous, Mr. Klaus is indeed leaning more toward Friedman's Chicago school, but he admires Austrians (especially Hayek and Mises) as well. But I often hear him saying, that institutions like IMF or WB are obsolete and need to be either reformed or abolished altogether and that central bank interventions can cause more harm than good. All in all, economically he is pretty close to dr. Paul, although he is more carefull in what he is saying.

Wow, thanks a lot. i'm too

Wow, thanks a lot. i'm too lazy to look him up in detail myself, but i caught a second or two of the video. yeah... if he doesn't call for the phasing out of his own central bank with competing currencies I think he still harbors secret reservations of coveting power. After all, Bush, Greenspan consider themselves "chicago school" economists, the same with Geithner i think.... personally i think milton friedman was nothing new, just a joke, extolling the virtues of capitalism while he (in the form of Greenspan) himself wanted to control which currency people could trade with. Hayek would still see a road to serfdom with milton friedman's philosophy

Maybe

Maybe we could get Mr. Klaus and Dr. Paul together for a worldwide liberty and freedom summit.

I concur.

Good idea. We have to contintue to press everday and spread this message of freedom viral!

Hasta la libertad, siempre ;-)

Don't get overexcited

Even in the Czech Republic Klaus' role as president is a mainly ceremonial one, not to be confused with the American or the French president. He is not becoming "President of the EU" or something like this (good enough we don't have this position yet). The EU "Presidency" will be matter for the prime minister, who is not a libertarian at all. I don't know if there is even any official role for the President of a country presiding the EU. Perhabs Klaus may get more attention out of the Czech Republic, because he is President of the country presiding the EU.
Having said this, maybe this NYT-article is a start of a media spin to blame the Czechs and their maverick president for the worsening situation of the EU.

"Al Gore is the Apostle of Arrogance"

He said that in one of the YouTube vids I just watched. Based on what I've heard so far, I LOVE this guy!!!

I'm sorry...

but nowhere does it state his position on the central banks. And as i recall Milton Friedman wasn't divorced from the central banks, but it's been a long time since i've read him.... and i think even though economists went to the University of Chicago it still meant their free market policies were tied to a central bank.... so their stand for freedom was a mirage.

Miltie

Milton was a monetarist, which is somewhere between Austrianism and Keynesianism. I, personally think the best solution is between Austrianism and Monetarism, where, for example, fractional reserve lending is allowed with the caveat: Lender BEWARE.

Freedom is global! Could you

Freedom is global!

Could you imagine a world where every government limits its own power?

Do you know someone who cares a lot about the Israeli people? Send them this link that explains why Ron Paul's message is better for Israelis, Americans, and the world. www.AmericansForIsrael.co...

As a Czech by heritage

Actually, Bohemian to be exact (yes, we were a real people - not flower skirts in San Francisco and bad sitar music)

As much as I would like to see the Czech people celebrate their storied pursuit of liberty through President Klaus, I am hesitant in the fear this trend is based on populism (as another poster mentioned about Obamination) I do hope he could gain ground and we all know there are millions of people throughout Europe that reject the EU - like my new favorites the Irish.

Perhaps...WE could reciprocate the Ron Paul meet-up groups and the European Tea Party celebration from our brethren overseas!!! It would be a great way to help with an international freedom movement. Maybe we start some Klaus support groups and do some sign wavings???

mix

mix of Irish-slovenian-bohemian-cherokee indian here. that may explain my desire and drive for liberty and freedom.

The NYT skewered him

As usual the New York Times dug up every possible bad thing they could say about him. It's almost comical how one sided they can be. Imagine if this was an article about any socialist leader from Europe? It would be nothing but sunshine and flowers.

Nice find! I'm glad this man will have the spotlight during the economic crisis. Maybe a few free thinkers in the EU will listen to his ideas.

Vaclav Klaus!!! I LOVE this man!

I have been watching him and am overjoyed at this news!! I posted about him before on here many months ago!!
Google this guy and also check you tube!! You will see! I have no time now to link but just do it!!! This is GREAT news!! I am a fan of his!!

Happy Thanksgiving to all! I am off on a trip to my spend with my Dad!

I believe he was interviewed by Glenn Beck

this past year. Glen was very upbeat about the man. Good interview.

But now Glenn is with Fox Snooze....(yawn). Did they make him an offer he COULD NOT refuse?

I remember emailing Glenn when he started talking about the Federal Reserve...I knew it would not be long and he would be gone. I told him he was just scratching the surface, and that when he started scraping the bottom of the barrel, it was going to get nasty. He was probably going to have to make some difficult decisions regarding his personal integrity and staying in the broadcasting business. Apparently, he has had to make some of those difficult decisions. But not anymore, Fox Snooze will make them all for him. $$$$$$ or ??????

This is a great story

for the holidays. Thanks for finding and posting this. It is awesome.

So He'll Disband It . . . Right?
