The Daily Paul Quilt from Quiltingsando. Happy Thanksgiving to All
A few weeks ago, quiltingsando posted a thread about the quilt she made in appreciation of the Daily Paul. I received the quilt about a week and a half ago, and my wife and I have been enjoying it tremendously. It is so, so beautiful. Samantha was nearly in tears at how beautiful it is and at the generosity of our extended internet family. Thank you so much, quiltingsando and all of my family here at the Daily Paul.
Here is a picture of part of it, from its new home on our living room sofa. The brilliant yellow color represents gold (see the description below for full details):

This quilt was made for Michael Nystrom in appreciation for his efforts to help give Freedom Lovers everywhere a forum to further solidify the Freedom message to positive actions. Peace Prosperity and Freedom. The Daily Paul Family, 11-27-2008.
"The Plunge Protection Team and a Wild Goose Chase."
This quilt has the Bargello and Wild Goose Chase pattern. The Bargello looks like a stock market graph and the Wild Goos Chase looks like arrows pushing up and down. Half of the graph (Bargello) was planned by design and the other half pulled strips of fabric from a bag at random. This represents the interference of the PPT vs. Free markets.
The hand quilting is done in a circular spiral motion to symbolize the unwinding of the US and Global stock market. The bright yellow fabric represents gold.

Here is one last picture of the entire quilt, but believe me - the picture doesn't do it justice.
In spite of the state of the nation and the state of the economy, I have many things to be thankful for. This is the true meaning of Thanksgiving. Thank you quiltingsando, for your love. Thank you to my extended Daily Paul family for your ongoing support in the cause of liberty. Thank you Ron Paul, for your steadfast and unwavering commitment, and for lighting this fire. Above all, thank you God, for making this beautiful life possible.

About that quilt
I volunteer for several historical societies and museums where we frequently display historic quilts. Recently we adopted a quilted banner, rescued off the side HWY 20 that thanked fire fighters for putting out the forest fires in our area. It's rather amazing what becomes "historic", but quilts are a very big part of that picture. What you have in my opinion is not just a labor of love, but you possess what is an important historical piece, which has the ability to bring Ron Paul's message to even more people. Museums are funny places you know. I would make a case to the Historical boards here to put that quilt on display. If you Google, "Quilt Museum", you will find nearly every state has one. Quilts were legal tender for Native Americans. A Ron Paul quilt on the circuit could be exciting to historians. It is to me. I for one am so pleased to see the quilt in your capable hands. I will make that a point at the dinner table tonight. Happy Thanksgiving!

Thank you for your beautiful expression of gratitude and love. I know the gift represents so many things that we can only experience and will never touch with our hands. It represents passion, creativity, truth, justice, community, friends, and love. Having had many opportunities to speak with Michael and having finally met him in Minneapolis, of all men in this Revolution (aside from Dr. Paul) he is an example of all those things above. I am grateful for his friendship, am encouraged by his passion, marvel in his God-given creativity, appreciate the truth he tells, fight with him in justice, enjoy his community minded heart, and appreciate the love that he has shown to all he encounters!

Beautiful hand-crafted skill with a message
Quiltingsando, had you just made a lovely quilt, that alone would have been precious. But you wove (er, quilted) so much meaning into the design! Truly, this is a work to be passed down through the generations; a history lesson for the ages, bundled up in a beautiful, colorful cozy comforter.
I'll bet the warmest spots are where the gold pieces are. ;)
