Impossible. There is not enough cash in circulation to pay off the debt accumulated plus interest.

No need to physically destroy the Federal Reserve note.

Simply pay off your debts.

The Federal Reserve notes are issued and the monetary supply expanded based on debt.

If everyone paid off their debts, we'd have no Federal Reserve notes.

Is there a law against defacing money by writing on it or stamping "End the Fed" etc?

Great symbolism, but, you'd best be wearing a gas mask if you participate in such a practice. Here, read this:

Lead-based ink hasn’t been used to print currency since 1983, but the ink currently in use contains cadmium, mercury, and arsenic, according to Jerry Nelson, Information Officer at the Chicago Fed. “The Bureau of Engraving and Printing has been trying—in the five dollar denomination—more ecologically compatible soy-based ink compositions for decades without yet having achieved the useful lifespan necessary to comprise cost-effective elimination of the durable heavy-metal traditional ink,” Nelson said. This creates a paradox: more toxic ink increases the lifespan of bills and keeps them out of landfills longer. But, toxic ink also makes the eventual disposal of currency trickier.

According to an environmental assessment prepared by Potomac Hudson Engineering, Inc, these new inks contain volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that can be highly carcinogenic. It’s unclear whether or not these, or other compounds, would leach out of paper currency or volatilize under landfill conditions.

That's info straight from the Federal Reserve. I pulled that quote from this site, but there's lots of references out there on the toxicity of our currency.

i noticed everyone only burned a $1 though.

now when i see a bunch of people burn a stack of 20s and then drop a gold coin on top of the ashes and say 'this is the currency you can't destroy,' i'll consider that a sign of commitment.

This is a good idea.

It would be awesome to see 1 million Americans making a 1 minute video burning a 1 dollar bill.
