The DailyPaul pays it forward, starts a r3volution...

Oruval has planted a seed we can all cultivate to "overcome the power lusting greed filled people that control this planet"...

We, all of us, have got to "pay" something forward...start with our families, our friends...then, take that great big step to do a random act of kindness for a complete stranger, expecting nothing in return...

It is better to give than to receive and this day, December 1st, is the perfect day to start!

Let's come back here tomorrow night and NOT tell what we did, rather, tell what the reaction was of the people we "helped"...friends, family, stranger...did they smile, say thank you, cry?...will they "pay" it forward?

Do something on your block, in your town, for your family member, friend, stranger, or maybe even that hard working single parent that never asks for anything...DO SOMETHING today! then, come back here tomorrow and tell what the reaction was (we don't care what you did because its all good...what was the reaction)

...will you commit?

Hello Friends

Hey. Check out my vlog at www.darkdownhere.com It's got hundreds of hours of original and unique content that you are unlikely to find elsewhere. Thanks

Bumpity

Bumpity. I have been doing this for years, as my best friend, Syd once said, "just to see the look on their faces." It is priceless. Because no matter what crap is descending upon you, there is always someone worse off to uplift.

Not to be a complete bummer on this but as I read your post it's

ironic that very recently a friend of mine stopped to help an older woman held-up on the side of the road, when she (my friend) was hit by a car. She may lose her leg, we're not sure yet. She is so young, beautiful and blond as can be with the biggest, kindest blue eyes. All this because she is a good person and was trying to "pay it forward." F*ing ironic.
Sorry, just wanted to share. Hope it helps stop the pain...

paying back your parents is...

like a gift that keeps on giving!

great job, radiofriendly

O Captain, My Captain, rise up and hear the bells!

The Gift of Liberty

I figure giving liberty and enhanced awareness is about the best gift I could give. I'm sending 24 dvds of our r3volution to a neighboring town which happens to be the most corrupt town I know excepting DC of course. We've already passed out nearly 1,000 in this town so it's time to wake 'em up!

PS: I thank whoever it was who posted this video link in another DP forum this morning. It shows the Love and has reminded me of why we are here:

last night a guy asked me for spare change

I bought him a veggie pizza slice and told him about Ron Paul Ralph Nader and explained that Obama is a traitor...well I was after a bottle of strong Sherry 20% and told him Christmas should be celebrated every day.
His reaction?
He was visibly uplifted shook my hand a few times.
My reward?
improved mood.

thats what i'm talking about!

people that care, like oruval said, can change the world!

O Captain, My Captain, rise up and hear the bells!

Good idea

See you tomorrow.

haha..

Ran into a guy who absolutely hates me today at the local gas station. I said hey man I know we don't get along but here let me buy your gas.

His reaction was priceless.. He thought I was joking or being an ass at first and didn't know how to take it...I had to convince him and I said man just do something good for someone else today and make the world a bit better.

Still don't like that SOB... lol. But that's not the point.

I really like your example Oruval.

We all know positive action doesn't always get reciprocated, but it does help us grow, especially when it's a challenge to give to someone you don't like. At least you can feel better about yourself for it; the other guy may stay stuck in his small negative box, or maybe your action will plant a seed that will crack that box open later.
Thanks for starting this thread and inspiring some good thinking.

Wow

That is a good one. That takes stuffing your pride and stuffing your own feelings and actually confronting someone you don't like. That is a big one. I hate confronting people I don't like. My mo is to keep distance between me and them. Fortunately they are not numerous.

Excellent book on this subject....

"Invisible Acts of Power" by Caroline Myss. This book really affected me. She explains that when you do something for someone else it creates an energy flow between BOTH people and enhances both lives. This book can be read within or without a "faith" based setting. She brings in the philosophies of ALL of the major religions and shows how they all say similar things regarding "energy flow" or "grace". Excellent reading.

"Not armies, not nations, have advanced the race; but here and there, in the course of ages, an individual has stood up and cast his shadow over the world."

I actually just did that this weekend...

I was in FL for work and went downtown Orlando the one night that I was there. I ran into a bum who was asking for money, I ended up giving him all the cash in my pocket, but not before ripping up one of the dollar bills and explaining to the man that its worthless and that liberty, relationships with random people, and your family is where the real wealth is, NOT in a piece of paper. We offered for the guy to hang out with us and just hang, but he decided to take the money and run. You guys can take this how ever you want I just thought I would share that with you. The truth will free us!

"I predict future happiness for Americans if they
can prevent the government from wasting the
labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them."
(Thomas Jefferson)

Absolutely!

Happily for me, I live in a community that is probably 40 years behind the times. Many people still go out of their way to help those who need a helping hand. If you make eye contact with a stranger, you greet him cordially.

Unfortunately, modern problems ... drugs, promiscuity, the effects of pornography, broken homes ... have slithered into our area too. They have not yet paralyzed everyone into isolation.

People helping people has a totally different effect than governments robbing one set of people to bestow favors on another.

I kicked an Obama supporter

I kicked an Obama supporter in the balls today...HARD. He went down rather quickly too, I think I might've injured something because it was a really good kick, he didn't even expect it.

He was like...wha..wha...

Priceless...thanks for the idea. I hope that helped the cause.

I kicked an Obama supporter in the balls today

You helped him....He just doesn't know it yet....8)

News headline ought to be: "Obama supporter found to have balls"

Details on these extraordinary findings tonight at 11...

I didn't know Obama supporters HAD balls....

..at least not the males.

See, I learned something new on the DP!

I may not know the truth, but I know when I'm being lied to...

lmao

I'm sure you didn't actually do that. But I did think the comment was funny.

you missed the point.

we're not spreading hate.. and you're not funny.

Do you think

in order to have maximum impact and make people think, when we do a deed, maybe we should say that we are doing this in the name of Ron Paul or Campaign for Liberty or to challenge our governments attempt to turn us into a communist country or something to send the message. Instead of letting it just look like we are great people and letting it drop there. If people are talking about what happened to them, then they could add to the story that it happened because of Ron Paul. Or in the spirit of DailyPaul.com so that they can come here and read about themselves. Then hopefully they will stay and see what it is all about.

you know, i've thought of this...

i really think it might be ok to do that...its a bit touchy though...each case might be different...i say we should mention the r3volution, in some way, probably the best and easiest way would be to say, go ronpaul, and ask that they might pay it forward...

O Captain, My Captain, rise up and hear the bells!

Every day:

I have lived every day of my life that way. I have always helped others with no thought of "what's in it for me". I have stopped along the road to help people and many times they want to pay me or see what they can do for me. I always simply tell them to pass it on and do something to help someone else. I live in a small town and there are many older folks here that can't afford the $80.00 per hr. at the local garage and I work on their vehicles for practically nothing most times. That is just one example of how I have helped my community. There are many others. But when it came time that I needed help with things, somehow, amazingly, it has come back to me ten fold. I am a firm believer in karma and you reap what you sow. Now I realize that everyone isn't the same and things like this don't present themselves to everyone's every day life. But the barter system and being kind to others has certainly made my life so much more peaceful than I see in some others. Random acts of kindness to strangers has huge rewards. Even if one of them is just looking in the mirror and liking the person that you see.

I love my country
I am appalled by my government

what is sad is that...

in today's world you are not the norm...you are truly one in a hundred...you make the dailypaul proud!

O Captain, My Captain, rise up and hear the bells!

Reciprocity

I happened upon this article from another article on lewrockwell.com and am an avid Ron Paul and Austrian economics supporter. I wanted to point out a website run by a person I know who has created a system of coins that can be handed out after doing a good deed so the stories can be tracked. It is quite a neat project and I think fits the ideals in this article perfectly. Check it out: http://www.reciprocity.cc...

I am in

from Ohio. Great work everyone, keep it going.

i went to the grocery store...

today for one reason...i found the "person" i was looking for...it was a mom with two small kids (both boys) i got behind her in line...she had milk, cereal, eggs, cheese, some canned foods, bread, butter, some hamburger and hamburger helper, potatoes, etc....it wasn't much, really...i let her pay, followed her outside and said, excuse me, ma'am, may i pay for your groceries today? "what?", she said...may i pay for your groceries today, i repeated..."are you serious?" she said....very serious, i said...i handed her the money and said, "you can pay an act of kindness forward, if you get the chance"...she stood there for a second with a look of amazement on her face staring at the money, her oldest boy said, mom, did that man give you some money?...she looked at me and said, "thank you, i guess..."

i went to my car and watched as she put the groceries into her car (kinda old but clean) and took her boys back into the grocery store...

O Captain, My Captain, rise up and hear the bells!

Ecorob- I liked your idea so

Ecorob- I liked your idea so much that I am going out the door as I write this to do this very thing. Thanks for the inspiration.

I didn't see anyone with

I didn't see anyone with their children, but after walking through the store I saw one young woman with a few groceries in her cart. Instead of waiting until she paid, I placed a twenty dollar bill on the conveyor belt and told her that it was for her groceries. She smiled really big, stuttered a bit, and said thank you. I told her it was my pleasure and I walked out of the store. It felt really good. Thanks again for the idea ecorob.

You touched my heart

with this kind deed. This is beautiful.

ohhhh yes

OMG I love this--you did awesome

will find someone in the grocery store and make r3volution bags
like E. Oregon 4 Ron stated below

so many times

I have wanted to do what you have done. Thank you so much for this post. I am not wealthy but willing to help others as I am able.

We could pay it forward to an even larger group by pulling our

money out of the big banks and putting it in local banks and credit unions AND only using cash.

Kill the tapeworm -- Catherine Austin Fitts. Watch her videos. Fantastic.

Speaking of random acts of kindness. I was in New York and saw a guy at a cash register desperately fumbling around in his pockets for 23 cents -- he was short and was trying to buy milk and fruit. A man standing behind him in line reached around and gave the cashier a quarter and told the "fumbling" guy "you look like you need this more than I do". He didn't give the quarter for any other reason than to make the other guy's life a little easier. Was very cool.

Count me in---

I have a special concern for the homeless this year---I bought a Gulf War Vet homeless man some hot coffee and hamburgers last week. He was so thankful, especially for the hot coffee on a cold day.
I am assembling some eco-shopping bags with a warm hat, gloves, fleece throw, water, and assorted food items to have on hand when I see someone that can use it. I think I will add a pocket Constitution, a paperback book, and a Christmas card.
It will help to have this all ready, because sometimes it is hard to get back to the person because of the traffic.

just to add to this one

who says you can't triple your supplies by going with 2nd hand from a church thrift store. The $$ from your purchase directly helps people, plus you have the extra goods to help others.

The Gulf War Vet I fed

had a sign saying he needed a sleeping bag and a tent, and I fussed with myself all day that I didn't just tell him to stay right there, and go buy a sleeping bag and a tarp, at least! I did give him a few dollars in with the food.
I had the same thought as you, go to the 2nd hand stores and buy some sleeping bags to keep on hand and give to people. This time of year it isn't a bad idea to carry a bag or two in your rig in case YOU get stranded!

Bump

for positive pro-active idea.

I'm in

and yes that is a good link Oruval.

Hopefully I will think of something new to do tomorrow, but when Dr. Paul was running, I would buy breakfast for the car behind me if I went through a drive through. I would give them Dr. Paul's information by asking the person in the window to just hand it to him. I would be driving far off by the time he found out. Sometimes I would look back and the person would be straining to see my car vanishing. It was funny and fun. Breakfast is cheap when there is just one person in the car and I figure it would get them to at least look at the material and maybe talk about it during their day.

Now that was a cool idea.

I'm gonna have to remember that one.. When you're focusing on the good then it will materialize. But you have to envision it first, that is why people must flush their bodies of fluoride toxicity. The Pineal gland in the brain is being calcified by the water we drink.

I'm in. Have a great night ecorob.

this link is the greatest gift you could have ever given me...

more than that, it is the greatest gift anyone could ever receive...please watch it people and open your mind!

O Captain, My Captain, rise up and hear the bells!

thanks, oruval...

i'm in as well and, Lord willing, i'll see you back here tomorrow night with a "happy" post...

oh, we'll still fight the "bad", the "evil" (we'll kick its ass), but now we'll ALSO fight it with some ol' fashioned tennessee and kentucky GOODNESS!

what other states can we count on, folks?

O Captain, My Captain, rise up and hear the bells!
