If America could elect a

If America could elect a black President, it could elect a septuagenarian.

Of much greater issue than Dr. Paul's age is:

-Will the campaign begin next year?

-Will this movement get outside support from wealthy donors? (Money Bombs are good, but not enough.)

-Will anything be done in the next four years to clean up our voting system?

No one is too old ....

No one is too old to be the POPE!!!!

Why not a president?

The Solution is Simple

Jesse Ventura runs for president in 2012 with Ron Paul as his running mate.

Ventura/Paul '12 FTW

it's like Luke and Obi-Wan

(there's your 1st t-shirt)

I'm sorry ...

but if Ron Paul were my grandfather I would not like him to run .
If Ron Paul decided to do nothing more as of today he would leave an amazing legacy.
I think he should continue in his role of inspiring and cheerleading the movement.
It pained me to see how tired he was at times during the past campaign and I think of Carol's breakdown in health.
It is too much to ask and I don't see it happening.

However RAND PAUL is very impressive, I would love to see him run for congress and then who knows?

I don't know if

there is a such thing as too old.I would hope he would be healthy which Ron is pretty spry.I knew a man who was 100 and got along better than most 60 year olds.

Spirit of '76 Ron will be 76

Spirit of '76

Ron will be 76 in 2012, and will be running to save the United States of America.

Is there any other more appropriate age to be president?

America needs wisdom. America needs a seasoned leader. America needs to get back to her old school values that made her great. America needs a wise old leader to guide her back to our roots.

Ron Paul will run with the Spirit of 1776 in 2012.

May God Please Bless America once again.

Ron Paul for President 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spirit of '76!!!!!!

That is one hell of a campaign slogan.....

Ron Paul is already older than any first term president.

We need to recognize that, although he is our beloved moral leader, Ron Paul will not be with us forever. I think it is very important to get Dr. Paul's endorsement for another candidate. When (if) he decides to retire from the congress, he could make a last bid for the Republican nomination, unless there is someone else. But he cannot run third party unless he is leaving congress because the GOP would remove thier endorsement and throw heavy resources at another candidate to take his district. Personally, I want to keep Dr. Paul in the congress. If we see him on another presidential ticket, he should be the VP.

2012, I think, would be a good year for a Ventura/Nader ticket. We do need someone to make a run for the GOP nomination, but I just don't think that we can win that just yet. That will ultimately leave us with the third party option. It would be best to get Nader on the ballot because he will awaken the far left to our ideas and it would serve as a unifying force for third parties, especially if Ventura got the LP nod. However, the Independence Party has major party status here in MN, and it would be good to spread that. (the CP has a wierd religious bent and no resources) I don't think that the MSM could ignore Jesse because he won here in MN without their support. Besides, he was a damn fine governor.

You say Dr. Paul is our moral leader

yet then you continue to say forget about the GOP and go third party. Dr. Paul is staying in the GOP and has called for reforming it to Goldwater-Reagan roots with inspiration of Jefferson and has endorsed and working with a few GOP congressmen and women.
Nader is not only older than Paul, he has also run in more presidential campaigns than Dr. Paul and would not be taken so seriously, although he has name recognition and a man of principle. Do you think he would like to run as VP in 2012 whereas he run as presidential candidate as Indy, Green and Reform party candidate in the past?
Ventura is in Mexico, not in the US, so please tell me how he is currently leading a campaign to be its leader in 2012? Ventura may be well known in MN, but not so much in other states. A presidential run is something other than a
governor race. He has NOT endorsed Dr. Paul, so what qualifies him as successor to Dr. Paul. If a third party candidate would win, he or she would also have to appoint some Republicans and Democrats... Gary Johnson not only endorsed Dr. Paul, he would have a much larger potential appeal than Ventura and he is IMHO smarter, better looking etc. and was governor for two terms, thus has twice the executive experience as governor than Ventura. Johnson has been on Meet the Press and other TV pogramms in the past, spoke at the CATO Institute, Heritage Foundation etc. and as Gary Veto has a very impressive record. Did Ventura lowered taxes like Johnson and did he manage to turn a red economy into the black like Johnson? I know Ventura has spoken against the war on drugs, but what has he done? Has he privatized half of the prisons in his state without losing one job???

I say Paul-Johnson (or Johnson-Paul) would be the strongest ticket. Dr. Paul as Wead pointed out is still fesh with ideas and energy and his health is - other than McCain - good. He looks younger than McCain as well. Dr. Paul is really the only one with the deep understanding and guts, some others will have to be trained. In 2012 things will be much better with the primaries than 2008: not only has he more name recognition and respect than before, he also has an infrastructure, grassroot support, donor-base and the lately a lot of news coverage and was 100% right about the prediction of the economy.

Nader? He's older than Ron Paul.

What is Nader? 74?

I'm not sure in modern terms, 75+ is that big a deficit for Ron Paul. It really depends upon his presentation.

Yes, too funny

he say Dr. Paul is too old yet then proposes Nader, who is older. Also, what makes him think Nader wants to be VP, whereas he has been presidential candidate all these years? Nader has much more experience with presidential campaigns and debating than Ventura.

Never too old

to preach the truth, and fight for freedom.

I love Dr Paul but I strongly disagree

Train, Promote, Win.....

We need to TRAIN from within our Revolution.

We need to PROMOTE from within our Revolution.

We need to WIN by making the GOP our Trojan Horse.

We need to Have Dr Paul on Board with those three steps above.

I seen on 60 minutes

a Scientist was 101 an still working, a 90 something man still running a huge steam shovel. I'd say no. The US needs Ron Paul or some one that holds his,our beliefs. The questions is will there be a USA for a like minded person to run for the office of president, if it still exists in 2012.

As long as he stays away from fast food ...

and keeps pedalling 10 miles a day as I've heard he does, he'll be fine

That said -

. If you are serious about helping Ron Paul and the Liberty Movement - Then you have to do the dirty work NOW.

This means getting involved with your local County GOP Executive Committee now - become a precinct committeeman/committeewoman - drag your friends from your local meetup group along to do the same (our meetup has meetings the night before the county GOP meeting, to go over strategy and educate each other) - and next time county elections come up - run one of your own for chairman - There are other positions available also - and build from there - if we all do this - we wont have a repeat of what happened this last time around with the Delegate situation - we will already be in place.

Are you serious about who you want the nominee to be - or just wishing? - get involved in the party if your serious - from the sidelines your just a spectator.

At our last county executive GOP meeting - myself and a few others had prepared a speech, and didn’t need to give all of it - because the chairman said most of it for us - him and the rest of the party regulars knew the party had gone down the wrong path and needed to re-find its way to its conservative/libertarian roots - and we are there to help them find it -The Time Couldn’t Be Better For Everyone To Get Involved In Your Local GOP County Executive Committee - and Ron Paul’s Republican Liberty Caucus - McCain’s Loss Is The Best Thing That Could Have Happened For Us!

Link to contact information for your state GOP office - they can tell you who you need to contact in your county regarding when and where of executive committee meetings -

Rules tend to vary state by state, though many seem to follow the Robert's Rules of order - you can brush up on them here -

A Constitutional President

wouldn't need to be in his "prime" to be effective. Ron Paul has consistently said that he wants to be president because of what he would NOT do. It takes a lot more discipline than it does brilliance to reduce the size and power of the federal government... And Ron Paul would be a Constitutional President until the day he dies.

How about Rand Paul????

He is young, nice looking, and would look good next to the old and tired, rehashed politicians AND he believes in his father's idea's.
Just a thought.

I think the best tool we have when we go door-to-door is the DVD
"America: Freeedom to Fascism" it speaks for it's self. We should ask them to see the video before they make a decison. I don't see why with all our resources we have, and all our people al

Rand Paul can

run for congress in Kentucky in 2010, but please forget about presidential candidate in 2012 with no political experience, though he has campaign experience.

He has no political experience.

Those who want to pass the torch from father to son should write Rand and encourage him to run for Congress, Senate, or Governor.

There will always be an excuse no matter who runs. If that ...

There will always be an excuse no matter who runs. However, if the age of Ron Paul is the only thing they can concentrate on to not get him to run, then I say he should run. He isn't physically going out and fighting the corruption of this country. That's our job. There is nothing amiss with Ron Pauls thinking and direction.
Surrounding Ron Paul with other like minded patriots that are delegated responsibilities from Congressman Paul is the idea. By "surrounding" I am talking from the local levels to the executive administration. We have and are positioning many patriots to start the internal works towards constitutional government. We must continue with each and every election from today onward for positioning and strategy for the retaking of this country.
WE MUST FIGHT before the freedoms and liberties of our country become obsolete.

Ron at 76 may be healthier than many 20 year olds

but MSM would keep on brainwashing folks about his age and therefore it would be hard to win the race.

Unfortunately, he will be

Not too old to run, but too old to be elected. The "presidential" perception is too strong. A somewhat frail looking senior citizen with a suit coat that appears too big will have a real tough time on stage with a tanned Romney, attractive Palin and movie star Obama. His 2012 campaign will grow our movement however.

In strictly superficial terms, he wasn't electable this year.

72 was already "too old" if we take previous presidential elections into account. Congressmen, also, rarely get elected to the White House.

The American people have a superficial set of physical and career qualities they vote for in a chief executive.

Movie star looks are not a serious basis, or our president-elect today would be John Edwards and his Republican rival on Election Day would have been Mitt Romney.

Height isn't a big issue, either, if you look at the numerous short presidents (examples: Harry Truman, John Adams, Jimmy Carter) and the numerous average-sized ones (like Nixon, JFK, and George W. Bush).

The American people tend to vote for:

(a) Governors.

(b) Senators.

(c) Generals.

(d) Men with hair on top of their head. (It doesn't have to be thick, but they need to have some.)

(e) Men of relatively mainstream weight. (There are exceptions to this rule but only a few, and none in the last century.)

(f) Men between the ages of 42 and 69. No young man in his thirties has ever been elected President, and no senior citizen in his Seventies has ever been elected President first-term.

(g) White anglo-saxon Protestants.

Ron Paul already falls way outside this "Superficial Voter Index".

What we should hope for is that superficiality won't matter in 2012, especially since we are living in "interesting times". And Barack Obama, phony that he is, already broke through the superficiality index in that he is the first black President.

Image does matter

But content is even more important.
If he can succeed in being seen sand heard often in the media, as he is being seen today and if all of us are vocal about his message and why it makes so much sense, he will have a chance. And even if not, running can mean moving his conversation into the mainstream dialogue and having the issues addressed whihc is the way to win in the long term.

I forgot to mention that the media will be against him again

They only like him when he is not a threat.

That is true

But as long sa they are giving him a spoap box at this time, the message is spreading mpore and more. I am amazed by the number of people who tell me they wish he had been the candidate and only learned of him in the last month.

:)

Inspiring.
