I think Jim Rogers does slightly better with the "let them fail" advice. Jim points out that a failed company will be run by new owners who may do a better job. The company and its assets don't disappear when bankruptcy is declared. A bankrupt company is taken over and reorganized by creditors.
This moderator in London set the stage for the assertion: let them fail and we all fail for years. Peter says just, yes, let them fail. Jim Rogers explains, let better managers purchase and take over the failed enterprises. This gives some hope for a revival (which is more true than the no-hope version).
But this complaint of mine is nit-picky. Peter does a marvelous job.
It's fine that he says it over and over -- about the same in each interview. New people in the audience hear him each time.
That's not entirely true. Schiff has on numerous occasions mentioned the same thing that the factories won't dissapear and they will be taken over by more competent people. He just didn't happen to mention that in this particular video segment.

Hey. Check out my vlog at www.darkdownhere.com It's got hundreds of hours of original and unique content that you are unlikely to find elsewhere. Thanks
Why bring him on at all if there was some man behind the curtain who didn't want him to speak? Everyone already knows what he's going to say, as he says the same things in each interview, so they wouldn't have brought him on in the first place.
Need I also remind those bashing Peter Schiff that he was one of Ron Paul's economic advisers during his campaign?
While I am not sure I agree with everything Peter says (his optimism in foreign markets and currencies may be unfounded), he has been very accurate in his predictions so far.
But the point is that if the foreign currencies collapse, too, then we're in so much hurt there was no way for you to have really preserved your wealth in an effective fashion.

I'm sorry the party leadership in this country is not sitting down and talking with Peter every day to understand how they need to let the government stand down on these insane bailouts and stimuli that they keep borrowing from other countries, (and printing dollars) to dole out on our soil and prolong the pain and suffering here at home.

I don't know if he will turn out to be correct on all accounts in the end, but his basic philosophy is that the country will need putting back together again when this is over. Investing abroad to protect oneself and family from dollar rot is the proper path to preserve wealth which will make it possible for as many who will listen to financially survive this hurricane. Funds can be repatriated at tat time so the rebuilding can commence.
In reading his book I never had the sense he was anti-American, far from it. He is a Libertarian, an Austrian Economist, amazingly prescient and a Patriot who wishes to see America thrive once again.

What I am very interested in is some opinion of a video/tv engineer. I saw this clip in Europe a week ago, and the "lost connection effect" that I recall seeing over there was a different one, more with horizontal lines rather then diagonal. It totally doesn't make sense in the digital age to have this effect that reminds me of televisions in the '80's getting bad signal. You would expect the image of Peter to freeze or so.
Anyway: this might have been a loss of connection, but the timing makes me wonder. The CNN anchor lady just made her supposedly strongest pro-government / pro-banks move (throw away hand gesture while ridiculing the concept of the invisible hand), and Peter was about to counter it completely.
Just wondering if some editor actually has a big red panic button for situations like this :-)

With this interview though, I think the plug was pulled. If you go back two weeks and search for a Peter Schiff interview on the CNN Campbell Brown show, you'll find that Peter's signal was cut then too, albeit just for a few seconds. It's like someone just can't take what he's saying any longer and hits a button.
