Barry Manilow is a Ron Paul supporter!
I found a quick blurb saying that Barry Manilow the singer was a Ron Paul supporter.
Being the inquisitive guy I am, I looked it up on the FEC filing page.
I did a search down the list and there in the middle was:
MANILOW, BARRY MR. WOODLAND HILLS
CA 91367 06/21/2007 2300.00 SELF/MUSICIAN
http://www.barrynet.com/
Most in the Ron Paul campaign also know that Jimmie Vaughan musician/guitarist is a supporter of Dr. Paul as well.

Hopefully as the campaign progresses, more people of note will jump into the Ron Paul Revolution.
Thank you, Mr. Manilow for the support
output

I'm pretty sure Manilow also
I'm pretty sure Manilow also donated to Obama, Clinton, and Edwards.

..and he gave the $2320 to Biden, also. $11,500 in all. Oh well, we'll take the $2300 from anyone. Barry must be just playing all his cards. He is Vegas & being part of inauguration festivities is probably good for business.
I read Barry recently cut an album that included a duet with, if you can believe it, Rosie O'Donald. Maybe she told him to send $ to Ron Paul. Now, she should send her $2300!
Yup
Gonna guess he is Anti War and that is why he donated to Dr. Paul.
Thank You Mr. Manilow!!!
If you are reading this Mr. Manilow, I thank you very much for supporting the cause of true American liberty.
Now....I don't suppose you'd consider creating a television commercial with Dr. Paul would you?...and air it many times in New Hampshire, Iowa and South Carolina?
I write the songs
"I Write the Songs" was actually written by the Beach Boys' Bruce Johnston as a tribute to Brian Wilson. Barrry was one of 3 artists to record the song in the mid 70's. I haven't heard the David Cassidy or Captain & Tennille versions.

Link to Famous Libertarians...
Hey, you celebrity followers, here's a list of famous Libertarians that you can start working on:

Let's get them added to the roster!
Penn & Teller
It would shock me if we did not already-have both Penn and Teller, too. (They TOP my list of "things to do next time I'm in Vegas besides win the WSOP"!)

another Barry
The scary one's been perennial Presidential competition for decades, and it's another Barry -- Dave! I seriously hope Dave Barry will actually rescind his run for the Presidency this year and support Ron Paul (plus max out a check to the campaign, please). Dave has an excellent and very funny blog at http://www.davebarry.com/ and we should carefully and tastefully look into ways we can grab additional supporters there, IMO. Besides, even if we don't get anywhere, Dave's blog's hilarious, and a must-read if you're as concerned as I am about snakes in toilets.

Great Barry Manilow!
....good catch Texas! I've wondered when some entertainment "notables" would show up and wondered if, perhaps, only those "established" would dare. Why? Well, look who owns the studios. My perception is that in Hollywood one has to "play the game" to a certain extent.
My husband is a fine musician and he once enlightened me about what exactly my perception, should be about highly successful musicians who have weathered the storms, reinvented themselves, and spanned decades and decades of popularity. I actually had said that I didn't particularly like Barry Manilow's arrangements. My husband appreciates artistry in all genres, longevity in the charts/crowd draw and, of course, decades of hit songs that now are paying large royalties as they are used in ads and re-arranged by new artists. Given that, Barry Manilow is genius and also seems to be a nice guy. With his endorsement and donating the maximum amount to the campaign, I add wise and courageous.
Folks, he is the first major high profile entertainer added to our ranks and while he undoubtedly will do it with little fanfare ( he protects his privacy), he did it, his name is on that donation, Texas Little El found it and shared it here. I join her in saying Thank you Mr. Manilow.
Beyond the above, Barry Manilow has sold millions and millions of records and continues to do so. He has a HUGE fan base. He garners respect from many. Ever heard "He Writes the Songs That Make The Whole World Sing?" He wrote that and hearing he contributed to Ron Paul makes me really happy. He deserves our respect.
I hope we will all celebrate these milestones together, & recognize that we span an enormous age range and, undoubtedly we do not all share the same musical tastes. Thank God. If we ever get to the place where there is no longer diversity in the arts, most likely we will all be on "soma" living in "Brave New World" and hardly displaying any uniqueness in our personalities. Vive La Difference in Ron Paul voters.)
Oh, crap....Not Barry Manilow!!
We're *definitely* in big trouble with Steven Colbert now!! Only thing worse? An endorsement from BEARS!! ;)
JMR
Bears..Huh?
....had to goggle "Steven Colbert, Barry Manilow, Bears" to understand your "wink-grin" and TexLilEl's "LOL.." Funny internet. Just haven't watched that much Steven Colbert. Due to RP, I've been watching and listening to things I never heard/saw before. If'n they're nice to RP, I like 'em, at least for now.
lol
We should send the info onto the Colbert Report just to get another bump to the campaign
