Cheney Offers Praise for Obama's National Security Team

nytimes.com — Vice President Dick Cheney is calling [presumptive] President-elect Barack Obama's national security lineup ''a pretty good team.''

In a wide-ranging interview with ABC News with 35 days left in the Bush administration, Cheney also again vehemently defended going to war in Iraq, said waterboarding of suspects in the "war on terror" was justified in some instances and opposed closing the military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

It wasn't long ago that Karl Rove was giving the potential Obama administration high marks. We also saw that a top "Democrat" is ugring for "continuity" (the same euphemism employed by Rove) to keep Bush's CIA chief, Michael Hayden, and Director of National Intelligence, Mike McConnell.
