Posters - A Way to Help Ron Paul Every Day After Leaving Your Computer

Here is what you can do: download one or both of these posters in Adobe Acrobat format. Both are in color, and designed to print out on a standard 8-1/2 x 11 inch sheet of paper. The first poster has one image, while the second poster has two identical images that print out in landscape format:
http://www.dailypaul.com/...
http://www.dailypaul.com/...
Download one or both of the posters and print out a copy on your (color) printer. Take the image to a copy shop and make some copies - preferably in color, but black and white is okay, too - certainly cheaper. Then start posting them wherever you see a bulletin board or other appropriate public place. You can also tape them up in the back window of your car, or hang them in the window of your house.
I just got back from Staples, where color copies are 39 cents each, (though I've seen them cheaper elsewhere. This is where the second poster comes in -- you get more bang for your buck). While at Staples, I got 100 thumbtacks for a buck. I spent about $14, including tax, for 30 color copies of poster #2 and on my walk home I started posting them at the bulletin boards that I know around the neighborhood. See the picture I took of the bulletin board at the train station after I posted one.
If the mainstream media is going to ignore us, we have to be creative. This is a shoestring, grassroots campaign. We all have to do our little bit - just what we can do. So let's get to it. Carry the posters and thumbtacks in your backpack or briefcase or car, or whatever the case may be. That way, if you happen to come across an appropriate place to post your message, you'll be prepared.
I used the message "Out of Iraq Now!" on the poster, since it seems like one that many people care very deeply about. But if you can think of some other messages, please post them to the comments section below and I'll try to get some new posters made up in the next few days.
Thank you!!
Michael Nystrom

Idea for message on flier
I would like to have a double with the message "Taking America Back"
I also like the Ron Paul Revolution(with the letters evol backwords) I think that is very catchy, especially to the younger generation.
Great Post, thanks for the info...
Mayberry for Ron Paul
( hey...that sounds pretty good too....LoL)
Posters
Thanks Michael, but I too worry that if you're going to pick just a few words to grab attention, "Out of Iraq Now!" doesn't cut it. I'm weary of the constitutionally clueless complaining about the billions being spent in Iraq - and then blabbering on about how much good the federal government could do with that money if it were directed to schools, health care, job creation and (insert your favorite unconstitutional program here). I'm afraid that a short, loud, anti-war slogan alone will suggest that Dr. Paul shares that opinion, or that he's just another pacifist who thinks we shouldn't defend ourselves. At best, it does little to tell folks why this man is such a rare gem.
I think the ideal slogan would highlight the fact that Dr. Paul takes seriously his oath to defend the Constitution. Something along the lines of this site's slogan.
"Restoring Constitutional Government"
"Obey the Constitution"
"Let Freedom Ring"
"Liberty"
"Give Me Liberty - Give Me Ron Paul!"
"Limited, Constitutional Government"
"Rethinking the Role of Government"
"The Founders Gave Us a Plan - Let's Use It!" (or "...Tell Washington To Use It")
"It's the Constitution, Stupid"
I guess these are pretty lame, but you get the general idea.
Have a great day.
Agree 100%
A Citizen, I agree 100% . the anti-war slogan is directly due to the constitution not being upheld. Save The Constitution is the battle cry.
Thanks for the suggestions
ShowMeRonPaul - I too went through slogans like that in my mind. A few of my favorites were:
Abolish the Fed! and
Abolish the IRS!
On the other hand, these really make him look like kook to those without any understanding of the deeper issues. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll make some more posters up with some of the other slogans so people can choose. I still believe the anti-war message will resonate with a lot of people who would never otherwise associate themselves with the Republican party.
The kook factor
Yes, people are eager to whip out the brand "kook," aren't they? Witness how Bill Maher kept repeating that Dr. Paul is "against the Civil War" during his interview the other day. Sheesh! Isn't it a sad commentary that anyone who believes the U.S. government should obey the Constitution runs the risk of being dismissed as a nut case?
A variety of poster themes would be great; the user can choose one that's tailored to a specific audience.
Keep up the great work!
Something other than Iraq
We're trying for the GOP nomination, and Iraq is the one reason my GOP friends won't support Dr. Paul.
Either "Who is Ron Paul?" and his website in big font, or
"Dr. No for President" on the side, with his name and website on the bottom, or
"Reinstate the Constitution" on the side.
I would suggest going for the name recognition here. Pique the viewer's interest.
Those are just my suggestions.
Better posters?
Does anyone have any better posters? I mean Ron Paul is not a single issue candidate on Iraq.
If we can lump any one thing onto Ron Paul it's the Constitution. I will not post that poster above, but if somebody can make a better one that depicts his Constitutionalism I will certainly post these at the bulletin boards of grocery stores.

Fair Tax
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Dr. Paul is not a big fan of the Fair Tax, is he?
I'm getting ready to write the IRS a check for $8,000 because we underpaid on our federal income tax in '06. If my tax bill next year were, say, $500 instead of $12,000, I wouldn't care much if I had to pay it as a traditional income tax or as a "fair" national sales tax.
I read the Fair Tax book a year or two ago and one of the first points the authors make is that the plan is "revenue neutral" and would do nothing to cut spending. All other things being equal, I suppose the Fair Tax would be preferable to what we have now, but it strikes me as not worth the effort if it doesn't address irresponsible, unconstitutional spending.
Am I accurately summarizing Dr. Paul's view?
Thanks

Ron Paul supports the FairTax
Showme,
Yes you've pretty much summarized Ron Paul's view though he DOES definitely support the FairTax Act (H.R.25) and he said on his 30-minute C-SPAN interview that he'd definitely vote for it, and supports anything to eliminate the Income Tax and the IRS (I'm sure anything is within reason). Why he won't simply cosponsor this bill is beyond me.
I believe there is huge folly in writing off the TYPE of taxation as having any relation to spending. The Gold Standard does not directly relate to spending as government COULD theoretically keep high rates of taxation and confiscate the fruits of our labor, even if we had a gold backed dollar but there's many other valid reasons that Dr. Paul fights for this, and why I support abolishing the Fed for a 100% gold standard as well.
Let's look at what the Income Tax itself causes, outside of Marxian government that allows government to confiscate the fruits of labor:
** Domestic terrorist group (IRS) that has an $11 Billion budget and 110,000 employees. ExxonMobil (our largest domestic oil producer) has about 20,000 LESS employees. I believe $11B would fence in our whole borders too.
** Cost of COMPLYING with the Income Tax is $500 Billion. This is yet ANOTHER tax on us and our economy. This cost was also 25% of the amount of money it raised.
** Raises the cost of goods and services when the corporate, payroll, compliance tax costs are embedded into everything we buy, and everything we export. Hurts American producers on export trade.
** One of the highest corporate tax rates in the world, drives business away. (What costs a company more? A HUGE penalty on profits or cheap labor?)
** Lots of abuse! The Income Tax is easy to evade for the most part. That's why the IRS doesn't even do their job. In 2005 the tax gap was $350 BILLION. This amounted to an extra $2000 in taxes from every household to make up for this lost revenue that the feds simply won't give up.
** Benefits the ultra-rich, and the ultra-poor. The poor have a negative tax rate simply because their poor. The ultra-rich can afford the lobbyists to buy a special amendment to the Internal Revenue Code that gives them a tax break. They also can afford the CPA's and lawyers to take their capital offshore (hurtin our economy as well).
** The Majority of all lobbyists in D.C. are TAX lobbyists, for the specific purpose of attaining special tax breaks for their large corporate clients.
** Big compliance burden on small businesses vs. big business, to the tune of at least 30x greater burden in compliance costs.
This is only the tip of the iceberg, and does not deal with the pure libertarian ideology that income taxation is theft in its greatest form. Our founding fathers believe this too which is why they DID NOT say that "the form of taxation does not matter as long as the tax is low". They recognized that taxing income was essentially theft.
This plan isn't perfect by any stretch of the means, but it ELIMINATES THE INCOME TAX AND THE IRS. That's plenty good enough. Part 2 of the FairTax.org plan is also the repeal of the 16th amendment. Repeal the Internal Revenue Code FIRST, and than do the more difficult job politically in repealing the 16th amendment.
I hope Ron Paul cosponsors this bill and talks more about the elimination of the Income Tax. I'm considering making Paul the FIRST campaign I ever contribute financially towards. If he signed this bill that would just put the icing on the cake for my decision.

Ron Paul not a co-sponsor, nor supports the alleged fair tax!
FairTaxGuy,
One of the reasons the alleged fair tax is un-constitutional and one of the reasons why Ron Paul would never support it is, contrary to what you made up about Ron Paul is, the alleged fair tax proposes to lay and collect a general tax among the states upon property, real and personal, without apportionment among the states.
During the framing of our Constitution, states with superior wealth objected to allowing a power of taxation which was based upon wealth and would leave them carrying more of the federal tax burden than poorer states as was then the case under the Articles of Confederation. The wealthier Southern States felt that some compensation in their voting strength was necessary if they were to contribute a larger share of the federal tax burden.
Eventually, a compromise was reached [Article 1, Section 2, Clause 3] “Representatives and direct taxes shall be apportioned among the several States…….†The unequivocal intention being was an agreed upon rule determining each states’ voting strength in Congress Assembled, and also determined each states’ share of a tax, if imposts, duties [external taxes], and miscellaneous internal excise taxes were found insufficient to meet Congress’s exigencies , and, Congress found it necessary to call upon the states in a general tax to fill the national treasury.
Keep in mind our socialist friends in American, the Populist Party during the late 1800’s early 1900’s worked very hard to have a constitutional amendment adopted to remove the requirement of apportioning a specific tax among the states involving “taxes on incomes“ [see the 16th Amendment]..
H.R. 25 proposes to extend the reach of Congress’s taxing power to reach property, real and personal [which H.R. 25 would tax] without apportionment among the states and without regard to any census or enumeration, thereby closing the circle of a socialist taxing structure which reaches property, real and personal, in addition to Congress calculating taxes from profits, gains and other “incomes†which H.R. 25 does not even propose to remove from Congress‘s taxing power!
Supporters of the alleged fair tax and the socialists who worked very hard to adopt the 16th Amendment, both have something very much in common ___ the subjugation of the rule of apportionment by which the people of the various states agreed they would contribute into the common treasury if imposts, duties [external taxes] and miscellaneous excise taxes were found insufficient to meet Congress’s expenditures.
But the difference between the socialists who promoted the 16th Amendment and those who now promote the alleged fair tax is this.
The socialists who promoted the 16th Amendment were up front and promoted exactly what they wanted:
“The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several states, and without regard to any census or enumeration. “
But the weasels behind H.R. 25, who are obviously the friends of big government, are not being up front in saying exactly what they want, which is:
“The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes within the various states on the sale of property, real and personal, without apportionment among the several states, and without regard to any census or enumeration.â€
Instead of saying exactly what they want, direct access to the people’s property, real and personal, they hide their evil by calling their evil the “fairtax“! But when all is said and done, H.R. 25 is the same socialistic type taxing pig we now have but in a different dress!
Finally, what Ron Paul really said about a tax on consumption is this:
Quote:
Many conservatives have touted the Fair Tax proposal as an issue in the upcoming election. A pure consumption tax like the Fair Tax would be better than the current system only if we truly did away with the income tax by repealing the 16th amendment. Otherwise, we could end up with both the income tax and a national sales tax. A consumption tax also provides more transparency and less complexity. But the real issue is total spending by government, not tax reform. In other words, why change the tax structure if spending stays the same? Once we accept that the federal government needs $2.7 trillion from us – and more each year – the only question left is from whom it will be collected. Until the federal government is held to its proper constitutionally limited functions, tax reform will remain a mirage. See: Taxes, Spending, and Debt Are the Real Issues(LINK)
I know Ron Paul is not one of the co-sponsors of the alleged fair tax, even though its advocates continually attempt to connect Paul’s good name to the alleged fair tax in a favorable light.
Finally, H.R.25 proposes to create the largest entitlement in America’s history under its family consumption allowance, proposing to put every American family on the public dole and making the majority of American voters dependent upon a monthly government check which Ted Socialist Kennedy and his disciples would happily promise to increase during election time to buy votes and remain in power. Ron Paul would never support such nonsense!
The only tax reform freedom loving people need is to have the following words added to their Constitution, bringing us back to ourFOUNDING FATHER‘S ORIGINAL TAX PLAN(LINK)which was created by tax rebels and designed to control the actions of Congress, rather than having Congress control the people:
“The Sixteenth Amendment is hereby repealed and Congress is henceforth forbidden to lay ``any`` tax or burden calculated from profits, gains, interest, salaries, wages, tips, inheritances or any other lawfully realized moneyâ€

FairTax
Well said, FairTaxGuy.
One of the important things I've learned from Dr. Paul's columns is that, as you've alluded to, taxation is only part of the picture, since the Fed allows Congress and the president to steal more from us very effectively even without raising taxes.
BTW, it's my opinion that while a federal income tax obviously is constitutional now because of the Sixteenth Amendment, a progressive income tax is not, since the amendment did not repeal the constitutional requirement that all imposts be uniform. How on earth could anyone think our "From each according to his ability" progressive income tax is "uniform"?
Hey Fair Tax Guy - Why
Hey Fair Tax Guy -
Why won't you post it? Are you for the war?
Of course Paul is not a single issue candidate, but the Iraq war is - as we all know - an unconstitutional undertaking that Ron Paul never supported, and he supports bringing the troops home immediately. If you want some better posters than why don't you suggest something.
