A Few Things We Accomplished 2008

I know I push hard sometimes and always try to get people to get out and do whatever they can to and sometimes that comes across negative. As many of you know, YOU brought me to the Ron Paul movement because YOU were asking the right questions. I have been working to change the New World system for almost 21 years. I have run non-profit organizations, held office, worked for all levels of politicians and in a couple major corporations.
A few years ago, I stopped worrying about it because I thought it was about as bad as it was going to get. But, I remembered that in 1987 by a nut job conspiracy theorist and then again in 1994 by Dr William Taft Stewart, the head of the Antropology Department at the University of MD that the very end of the old order would be marked by all the major candidates for president being Senators. That's set off my alarm bells again and I started looking online for people looking for answers and with a strong desire to stop this madness. I found several places, but the Daily Paul is THE ONE! The smartest (in general) nicest, most sensible bunch of crazy kooks I've ever had the pleasure of associating with. Well, from the perspective of most of you, not a whole lot was accomplished, but from my point of view, you guys are AMAZING!!
You have brought a light and energy to the freedom movement that hasn't been there in at least the last 20 years!! And here's a few other notables you may not realize but you did:
--You've kept several people alive by making their stories more than a flash in a pan.
--You've completely awakened Brian Lamb at c-span
--You've made Ron Paul practically a household name, and you know where a little research on Ron Paul leads)
--You've built a community of trust and action
--You've made sound asleep people stir, and that's about three steps closer to awake than we did up till you came along.
I could go on. There's so much to be proud of. This goes so much deeper than politics and you all see that now. I hope I had something to do with your journey down the rabbit hole and I hope you keep digging! Live prepared, happy and alert.

I have enjoyed reading your post and concur with most of what you say. The only thing I am worried about is time and numbers. Preaching to the choir is well and good but as RP says, we have GOT to increase our numbers. And he has also stated that he doesn't know how much time we have left.
I have enjoyed the educational process as much as anyone, however I am beginning to think that if we can't come up with a workable strategy to increase our numbers and in a hurry, that all of this DP discourse and enlightenment will come to naught.
I have proposed two approaches - Strategic Activism and the CFL hiring Full Time Educators. However, more important than doing my ideas is to find ANY IDEA and workable model that will increase our numbers. Without a plan and some progress - I am afraid we may be too little, too late!
What a bleesing we had...
Having such an honorable and genuine candidtate to vote for.
Dr. Paul taught me the proper role of Government.
ONLY to protect our rights; Life, liberty and property rights.
That means ONLY 3 THINGS...
1. A strong military to DEFEND us from foreign invaders.
2. A police force to defend us from domestic assults on our rights.
3. A court system to right the wrongs when our rights ARE violated.
THAT'S IT.
No Dept. of Education, National endowment of the Arts, Federal bailouts, IRS, "Federal" Reserve, Socialist Security Administration, African Development Foundation, Christopher Columbus Fellowship Foundation, Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage, Government National Mortgage Association (Ginnie Mae), National Ice Center, National Indian Gaming Commission, Commission of Fine Arts, Endangered Species Committee, Marine Mammal Commission, Federal Duck Stamp Office, Center for Earth and Planetary Studies (CEPS), Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage, National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae...
And MY FAVORITE Federal Government Program: The National Wild Horse and Burro Program.
UNBELIEVABLE. What would we do with out THAT one???
And this list is just a FRACTION of the UN-Constitutional departments, programs, commissions, institutions, agencies etc. which have NO BUSINESS being funded by us, the American Taxpayer.

we did so much for liberty already
last night after some wine and beer I decided to randomly ask people on the streets here in Toronto Canada "do you know Ron Paul?"
EVERY person asked said yes they know him and about 80% said they like what he stands for one even said that she loves his deep Christian belief and people in her Church feel he is the strongest Christian among all the politicians on this continent...I went to bed so elated.What a beautiful New Years Eve!

Just last Saturday my husband and i convinced someone
who thought Ron Paul was a kook that RP's views were a good degree more sane (and closer to his own views) than the person thought. That was a real highlight of my week end.

I have been made aware of many things and learned alot from so many people that are now awake, keep up the good work and more good things will follow the work!
I accomplished...
Closing down my business and becoming Joe's welfare child...I learned the art of nap taking and long showers..and the art of how to avoid cooking for more than three days.

You are loved too.
You and a few others, I seem to read everything you write. We taught our children to be freedom loving individuals and they in turn are teaching their children to also think for themselves. You have helped to make this whole journey more interesting. Thank you. We love the Daily Paul and although I don't write often, I do read everything everyday. Happy New Year to you and yours.
