Israel should tolerate daily rocket attacks for years?
No other nation is not allowed to defend itself. Imagine living across a border from a people dedicated to kill all of you, whose main industry is sending their sons (and daughters) across the border with suicide vests on trying to kill as many of you as they can. I think it is amazing how long it has taken for Israel to do something about it.
Make no mistake about it, the Palestinians have no respect for human life, including their own. They want their own death toll to go up so it will put pressure on Israel to stop. After the Holocaust everyone said "never again", but now we complain about Israel defending itself against Hamas, which is dedicated to finishing what Hitler began.
This is not the same as the United States invading Iraq or Afghanistan, thousands of miles away with no threat to national security. This is an entity on Israel's border that lobs rockets at them daily.

The announcement is planned Tuesday morning at Electric Boat’s shipyard in Groton. Representatives of the two companies, labor union leaders and members of Connecticut and Rhode Island’s congressional delegations are scheduled to attend.
The contract is for eight more Virginia class submarines. Connecticut Rep. Joe Courtney says it means that submarine production will double to two ships a year beginning in 2011 at EB and Northrup Grumman’s shipyard in Newport News, Va.
Electric Boat employs more than 10,000 workers in Groton and North Kingstown while Northrup Grumman has nearly 3,000 workers in Newport News.
