STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY?
Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, and our nation was the most prosperous in the world.
We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middleclass in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids.
On January 8th, the congress will convene to certify the electoral votes for Obama. There are substantial and serious constitutional questions regarding Obama's eligibility to hold the office of president due to possible issue with his status as a "natural born citizen".
January 8th is the last easy chance for questions to be asked. Questions such as "can we see your original birth certificate", "can we see your citizenship status from Indonesia", etc., much of which information Obama has blocked from being reviewed.
Will Ron Paul be one to ask those questions? From rumors I am hearing he will not out of fear of being "laughed out of congress". I supported Ron Paul, because he did not treat the constitution as a laughing matter. I will be be very disappointed if he does not take the opportunity to ask the hard questions. I discuss this here:
I did get a call from Ron Paul's staffer, Norman. He was polite and explained that Ron paul did not feel there was enough evidence to take such an action. He kept saying there is nothing to it, but He did not have anything specific to answer the dual citizenship at birth or the Indonesia citizenship issues(the real issues, not the smokescreen issues). He mentioned that Marty Berg is a Clinton supporter, and that the Clinton's would have been all over this if there was anything to it (what if they are tied into it or have secrets that Obama keeps). I don't accept that kind of logic (Clinton's vetted him by not attacking him).
I conceded that if Ron Paul truly believes there is not a case, his position is correct, but still am not convinced that he is right (i.e., that there is no case). I understand the ire that would be raised if congress took such an action, but I still contend that it is the constitution that is at stake, and that Obama really dug himself in by refusing to provide:
1. Original birth certification with the name and location of the hospital, attending physician, witnesses, etc.
2. Not providing information on his Indonesian citizenship status.
3. Sealing records (i.e., his dissertation, and university enrollment applications, etc.).
Mr. Obama is running for president of the United States, not coach of an 8 year old softball team in Gary Indiana. We have some right to ask questions, and if we do not get answers, we should be suspicious. It's time to take back our country.
So true. How is Social Security any different than a legal version of the Madoff fund? All working pay in but only a portion will get anything back. In the end most of us will see nothing.
Dr. Paul speaks the truth and continues to try to educate his associates. He sets the example of repeating the same truths until they are heard. He speaks of honor and integrity in the midst of a corrupt government. He truly deserves our respect and support.
That truly was one of his best. I am so thankful that he is there at this time to get these ideas into the heads of his colleagues.
Not sure, but the guys in front of him looked like they were laughing at him though. Am I reading that wrong, or did they seem to think it was a big joke?
So well done here! Yes, Dr. Paul--just say it, man! Do not hold back any longer. He has been much too much of a gentleman over the years, IMO. But here? I love that he calls Social Security a "Ponzi scheme." Love it!
I'm going to call his office today and let him and his staff know how much I appreciate Dr. Paul's statement here.
It reminds me of Cato, Senator in Rome, saying each time before closing a speech: "By the way I think Carthage should be destroyed" (Cetero censeo Carthaginem esse delendam), but nobody listened. And it seemed improbably. But at the end Carthage (an enemy city of Rome in North Africa) was destroyed.
but think of the millions of mindless idiots who haven't a clue what he just said. they all need an education in fiat money, fractional reserve banking and free market economy to have an idea what he's talking about and they just don't. That's our job to educate as many people as we can.
We all know that a free market would run an economy better than a government managed economy would, and I have seen much debate from both sides. (I'm talking about arguments, debate, and disputes with friends, coworkers and family, ex. around the water cooler.) I'm not talking about economic theory, but a time-line in history that showed a fairly stable and prosperous exercise of the free market.
We know that central bank planning causes "booms and busts, deflation and inflation. The proof is non-bias articles and pictures of people in Hungary sweeping money down the sewer, and in Germany where people burned the money in fireplaces to keep warm after a period of inflation that destroyed the mark.
Maybe we could do a blog article on history proving (Even in the smallest measures with articles and even pictures.) how free market capitalism does better than a heavily regulated market. Many times I've heard Austrian theory is a pipe dream that will never work. since we never employed it how can we defend it, except in the "broken window" theory?
"A wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government, and this is necessary to close the circle of our felicity." Thomas Jefferson, First Inaugural Address.
everybody else in gov't is pro-big gov't so they can line their pockets with our money. Paul's speaking falls on deaf ears, until we replace our officials with honest politicians who value the constitution. Its a matter of integrity in office.
He nails them here! When are people going to realize that government regulation is most harmful to those that it purports to protect! We've all become so dull and uneducated in so many aspects of life because we have this false security that the government is watching out for us. Just think of all of the different things we would be expert on, or able to contract expert opinion on, if we were solely responsible for our transactions, and the courts only existed to punish force and fraud. Such market induced discipline would keep us so much sharper that we wouldn't have to worry about jobs and production going over seas like they do.
What a wise government official to state simply and unequivocally that he can't protect you from yourself (and neither can anybody else.)

I'm paraphrasing - Social Security is a Ponzi scheme!
This is a great clip. He is straight foward, telling it like it is, and telling it like no one else on the hill.
God bless Ron Paul and his beautiful family. He really sets the example.

I agree, the guys in front seemed to be mocking him.
However, I was hoping he would reach over and slap them on the head and tell them to shut up, pay attention you might learn something.
