of the music venue that i ran, which was shut down by the town government a month ago (this is the second time they shut us down, but this time it appears to be permament)

It's a complicated story but... we were categroized as a private video recording studio. We recorded all the shows, and we did this, because if we were classidied as a venue, operations would have been prohibitively expansive due to the cost of an entertainment license (which the town wouldn't have given us anyway) The fire department decided to play hardball, and used a new jersey state law stating that all places which were not designated for public assemby (i.e., recording studios) had to have a capacity of 49 people. One of our competitors (or someone pretending to be him, it gets weird here) called the fire department and stated that we weren't following guidelines. The Department took advantage of this,since the town didn't wanrt us around anyway, and the marshall ordered us closed, permamently. Unfortunately, the fire marshall has absolute authority in such matters (he can shut us a business down for any reason and there is no legal recourse). I am currently trying to find new real estate with a less anal town government (sigh, not an easy endeavor). The thing that pisses me off is that i have the capital, could find a location, restart, setup, promote, and be successful, it's strictly the problem of the state and various regulations and fear (I don't want to invest the time and money and have the same thing happen again) that is blocking me.

I'm curious what overbearing authority had so thoroughly investigated myspace and facebook to come to the determination that so many gays were permeating the internet, and that they all chose the same website to find each other on.

I'm assuming he questioned key members of the sites personally? Say over dinner and a game of grecco roman wrestling followed by a relaxing massage?

The reason I decided to post my page is because of the amount of requests I have received for Pro-Palestinian profiles. But I didn't want to go through every profile and instead thought I should just add the people from the Dailypaul who I know share my beliefs more than any other group.

In short, no, myspace and facebook have nothing to do with gays or the gay community.

The last paragraph of my post was, what I thought, a thinly veiled insult directed at whoever told you myspace and facebook were domains for gays.
