An idea to spur the Liberty movement
This is a late night rambling but as I wrote it I thought it sounded increasingly like a good idea.
Third party initiatives have always been a slim to none bet, and with the current road blocks in our path, its a lot heavier on the none side.
The Democratic angle would be a completely illogical move due to their modern base being so entrenched (more so than the Republicans) in socialism.
So the only viable option is for us to continue infiltrating with the end goal being a complete take over of the Republican party- which at least still has somewhat of a conservative base.
That being said, I think we should consider weaving a web of like minded group branches under the Republican banner; rather than solely staying members of what the media has termed "Paulites". Of course I'm not advocating leaving camp or jumping the Paul ship, I'm just talking about us forming and participating in a multitude of subgroups at the same time. Ideally these subgroups would individually place focus on changing one ideal- such as Republicans for a return to State Sovereignty, or Republicans for a Non-Interventionist America, etc. By not giving the subgroup (which is basically a recruiting vehicle) a whole platform of ideas to push we would be able to draw people from campuses and the public sector- those people who are waking up, or starting to loose faith in the party line- because it outright defines the subgroups stance and gives people one thing that they can get behind. It also does not create such a tight mold which the new recruits have to fit into politically, but from there reeducation on other fronts would happen through casual discussion and close interaction with more "open eyed" liberty minded people.
People latch onto initiative based groups, and because it's obvious some people are having a hard time waking up...I think we should take the stance that a small pill is much easier to swallow than a large one. Since these groups would be active on there own, they would have their own draw of new people, but philosophically they would be linked to this one and thus would easily spill over to swell our ranks. (I hope I'm making some logical sense.)
Plus the media can attack and discount one individual group... but if we had hundreds of Liberty oriented groups, different in theme, but operating with similar ideals and motives, it would be much harder for the media and there ilk to counter us with pinpoint negative press.

......More Ideas
Anyone out there who wants to pass ideas back and forth, or come up with other innovative peaceful political takeover strategies feel free to contact me via a message through this site. I would give my email address but I don't want lurking trolls and spam bots to bombard it.
I want to try and get a group of deep thinking "Liberty Minded" people together and create a very strong strategy wing to our movement. Pamphlets could be created outlining new recruiting strategies, as well as new models for PR campaign initiatives.
We must keep vigilant in evolving in our strategies, unpredictability will be a great asset in hindering those who try to politically outmaneuver us.
The GOP
members think they are smarter than Ron Paul and cling to old ideas. But your idea is good; conquer by osmosis rather then direct confrontation!

That really isn't true. It sounds good, but isn't true. If the Republicam base was somewhat conservative---superliberal John McCain would not have won the primaries, in a crowded field of candidates in a record turnout voting year.
It may be necessary to reeducate the GOP base itself.

I recognize your point but I honestly feel that much of the McCain support was simply a push by the "never let a Democrat in the White House no matter what crowd". I feel this way because I actually went and sat in on about 4 McCain rally meetings (know your enemy), as well as participated in some local debates with them. Here in the southeast -judging from the 100 or better people I spoke with- I would say that much the support the Republican party saw was simply party support (at least around here), who felt they had no other real reason than to just to oppose the Obama camp. I'm not saying their not stupid for voting that way, but it's the truth. Many told me they intended to vote a straight nickel! That as bad as it was, we couldn't afford to let a Democrat get in there. But it was obvious they were disenchanted. I continuously heard people talk about the "lesser of two evils".
I even received a call from my grandfather, whom was a conservative "State Rights" Democrat until the 1940's and then switched to Republican, begging me to cast my vote for the Republican party since it was once again the "lesser of two evils".
Today's Republicans have been weened on a improper readings of the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and The Declaration Of Independence. That coupled with their lack of clarity in historical knowledge (due to agenda based modern augmentation of historical fact), has led to a party that is often tolerant, as well as, dependent on Big Government. But unlike the Democratic party, where socialism is the unequivocal root of all basic policy, there are still many in the Republican party (at the lower levels) that are disenchanted by Big Brother social policies. Where I usually find conflict with them is on foreign policy- most seem to favor interventionism. But its obvious its because they have no historical knowledge about events like our involvement in overthrowing of Iran's Prime Minister Mossadeq in 1952-1953, or America's financial support of Saddam's Baath Party in the 1960's which brought them to power.
Yes it will be a large undertaking to reeducate the duped, but this is the only country we have- and the only shot we've got towards taking it back.
Viable political party option count
Zero. The Power Elite own the system, the media, the printing presses that fund the "campaigns" (Ron Paul himself cannot win without circulating a big fat wad of FRNs... which helps feed the beast we are trying to starve.)
I do not advocate handing over the positions we took and if there is another round of "Lets Play Election" I do advocate playing right along, but only under one condition: The TRUTH is "the message." Want liberty? "The truth shall set you free" could not be more applicable than right here, right now. Without exposing the centuries long shadow government and dismantling it, a brief "let them pretend they won" period is the best we will muster.
It was Jackson, I think, who was so proud of taking out the Central Bank that his tombstone reads "I Killed The Banks." Ranks right up there with "Mission Accomplished" does it not? Guns don't kill people, people do. Banks don't rob people, banksters do. We have to expose and bring to justice the PEOPLE that have garnered total control of the governments, schools and churches of the "free world."

I love it. Thanks for the ideas - I'm going to run with it here in my county.
Though I do have to agree with Kevin - and this guy -
“There should not be hostility toward those who seek opportunities in any party. The goal is to spread the message in every way possible. As a matter of fact, if the ideas didn’t invade all political factions, it would not be a true revolution.” - Ron Paul
