DP Updated Posting Guidelines

Good rules. I especially appreciate the grammar/spelling rule. Most of us could use improvement on this score; I've noticed myself trating the computer screen like a cell-phone screen instead of a typewritten page.
I'm plugging this into my favorites bar.

By the way: what's a LEO? In my opinion there is too much patois on the web.

That want to understand anything and everything with laws. From criminal court to traffic court to land titles. These concern the codes and statutes for the state of Texas. Private real estate patents, traffic issues, civil law, lawsuits win win win learn learn learn....How can we expect to expedite a return to a strong republic when we do not even have a basic grasp of the laws, the frauds perpetrated concerning the laws to steal your money and very possibly steal your possessions or your person. We've got good people with 30 years knowledge in THE LAW. We ALL NEED TO TALK ABOUT THIS. This allows a smal handfull to bury a thread they don't like. Some decent conversations are gone.

Some sites allow for selected posters to be hidden by the users choice.
The user can choose to block other users from his sight. Plonk.

one is passionate about it and has something to say. I think when writing here at DP it ought to be the same as writing a paper for a magazine, a book, university degree. Keeping it to that caliber of integrity is very important.

Controversial topics are important to explore as long as people stay civil and in their integrity. Agree to disagree! Is that not what free speech is all about? The ability to express oneself in a way that is both informative yet respectful even if the topic is controversial.

If we can practice 'equanimity', I think this site will surely grow.

Regarding, "It's a conspiracy theory - you're hurting Dr. Paul's image."

From my point of view I ask myself about this wonderful, rare, statesman, Dr.Paul, what is it that makes him so remarkable?

I conclude it is because he 'courageously' spoke out about things that were considered 'taboo' in D.C. and the media, in terms of our foreign policy and our money system(Federal Reserve), during a time when it was considered 'inappropriate' to even mention such things.

This particular courage of his is what so many of us find remarkable in addition to his substantial content.

I say this because I am very passionate in supporting myself and those who feel strongly about their 'pet issue' as some call it. I just 'cringe' when people say things like 'don't feed the trolls'.

From where I come from, I feel G-d speaks through people especially when there is appropriate enthusiasm and passion. (An enthusiast is an ambassador for G-d!!!)

I believe this in fact the very special ingredient that has made Dr.Paul such a blessing to himself and his family and to all of us fortunate enough to recognize that in him for the benefit of our country?

The religion threads get very tense but here's the thing. Is it not true that there is an elephant in the living room regarding those who on one hand passionately fight against abortion, yet these same people seem to have absolutely no compunction whatsoever in sending our troops over to invade a perfectly sovereign country committing murder, rape, torture, destruction of private property?

These ones consider themselves 'religious' and I think that needs to be confronted BIG time in this country! Not the religion per se but how is it that religious people can commit such 'civil crimes of support'? Is this NOT a contradiction that requires all our scrutiny??

I would think we ought to deconstruct this but we ought to do it in a way that is still respectful of others. I have no problem dealing with such conflicts myself because I believe it is important to discuss these things to raise the consciousness as it were.

That includes just about anything that is controversial because that is what 'Liberty' is. Being free to discuss may lead to a better informed people and especially to 'Justice' and the warding away of further destruction and abuse!!

It's great that there are posting guidelines. Let's enforce them, okay? There are a number of members here who do nothing but stir the antagonism pot. Yesterday there was "Atheism is a Fraud." Today, "The Bible is Evil." Whatever one might think about the assertions in those messages (neither of which I have read, BTW), they are not germane. At best they are diversions. Once such a thread gets started, it seems to stay around forever. The pot-stirrers will bump the thread if necessary.

I think the moderators need to take a much more active role in closing those kinds of threads, and booting the repeat offenders off the site.

Well, the math test will surely block many! 83% of Georgia 6th graders flunked their math test!

A reading of the 2010 census form is startling. Nowhere is the nationality of the "residents" required! Do we intend to set congressional districts based on included aliens?

Is there any plan or way to correct this intentional oversight?

This web site I love and everything about it, but the one thing that bothers me is when GOD or HOLY are used with poor language or in vain, it hurts me to see it. I guess because I love GOD.

I like the guidelines. Of course, the devil is in the details (interpretation and enforcement).

I hope the following paragraph will not be a toothless one:

Please do not write anything that Dr. Paul himself would not say or would not approve of, or that would reflect poorly on Dr. Paul or his organizations. Dr. Paul is a compassionate, humble, honest, fair and kindhearted human. Follow Dr. Paul’s lead. For a short introduction to what Dr. Paul is like, read this little article. This site is a place to practice creating the kind of world you want live in with your words. On this site, please don’t use profanity or other disrespectful or divisive language."

Frankly, a lot of well-intentioned people continue to post stuff that "reflects poorly on Dr. Paul or his organizations." This is stuff that "Dr. Paul himself would not say or...approve of," such as CONSTANT discussion of fringe conspiracies (chemtrails, etc.).

Hey, look, there's got to be some flexibility. I admit that. I'm not worried if -- once in a blue moon -- someone segues into a discussion on chemtrails if we get back on subject. But there are times when 25% or more of the active threads on the front page violate that paragraph and reflect poorly on us.

People need to understand how their "pet issues" are perceived by people, how "mixing the message" causes outsiders to perceive us holistically, and how mainstream Ron Paul supporters feel about being lumped in with those views. We don't like it. We don't begrudge you for your beliefs or because you want to discuss them, we just don't want you doing so in such a way that it makes us look like ALL Ron Paul supporters share those concerns.

Hopefully these guidelines will help people understand that, and will help the site stay more focused and less threatening to those who are new to the movement.

I intend to keep my Ron Paul bumper sticker as long as I own my vehicle. How best to preserve the sticker? An odd request perhaps, but more than ever, I think it important to "show the colors". I don't have another sticker and I want to maintain the quality of the one I have. Any suggestions?
