I don't have one

Nuts to you, government!

RX

Receive only.

No transmit.

OK, cool your jets.

Certainly, there has to be a way to test and confirm...

..or disprove this. Why is it even being discussed? You're not going to convince anyone without proof. It's the proof that will make or break this latest 'conspiracy'....and it shouldn't be that hard to get.

And electronics types out there? Test a box and let us know what it does.

I may not know the truth, but I know when I'm being lied to...

The new lite bulbs we are

The new lite bulbs we are being forced to use also put off a high frequency too. Funny huh?

-MY OPS ARE BLACKER THAN YOUR OPS-

-MY OPS ARE BLACKER THAN YOUR OPS-

Everything you plug in

emits high frequency 60kHz, it's built in to the AC electricity you use.

Old Fluorescent tubes emit high frequency, ever hear the "squeel" from a regular TV? (esp. when the flyback transformer is going out)

read this from slashdot:

NO converter boxes with component video are coupon-eligible. The only valid outputs are RF coax (ch3/4), composite (RCA yellow jack), and S-Video. A "coupon-eligible converter box" ("CECB") is limited by law to no more than 480i resolution.

Is it just my imagination that they don't want you feeding hi-rez into your computer?

Your imagination...

I have an HDTV Tuner card in my computer and can record whatever I want.
The Gov is just giving you what you already have, low res TV on your old low res TV. No "free" upgrades.

Reads ambiguously

By their own words:

Law enforcement "will employ designated frequencies to improve their communications" in your home.

And government will "reclaim radio spectrum for other important services, including public safety."

Includes the implementation of an electrronic 911 or "E-911" using the 216-220 megahertz band, the 1432-1435, megahertz band, the 1710-1755 megahertz band, and the, 2385-2390 megahertz band of frequencies; and any other band of frequencies reallocated from Federal use to non-Federal use.

Not sure of what to make of this.

I've fallen and I can't get up

One of those "I've fallen and I can't get up" devices In every home.

A Mandatory On-Star.

Of course, the issue of separation of powers comes to mind.

Instead of an analog to digital converter box, how about a digital to analog converter box? ...Anyone?

would hooking up the box backwards work?

.

Build it, and they will come

I haven't got a "spy box" yet, I'm haven't decided. I watch very little TV. no cable or satellite.

Hmm...

Hmm...

Manipulation of Frequencies is entrainment of behavior...

There is a reason a comcast guy wanted to know only the first names of the people in the house when they gave the cable boxes out. I simply haven't watched TV since the conversion , except very rarely.

Even if their is no nefarious agenda the EM pollution from the frequency entrainment is unhealthy... Basically the entire infernal contraption the television is unhealthy unless used in extreme moderation.

I'm just taking a guess

I'm just taking a guess here, but this is one reason that I believe the government may want to go all digital with TV...

There are only a limited number of frequencies and a limited amount of data (whether analog or digital) that can be sent across those frequencies.

We are becoming an increasingly wireless world with a constant flow of new wireless transmissions. Cell phones, GPS devices, wireless PDAs, laptops, vehicles, etc, etc.

One way to use the available bandwidth more efficiently is to make sure that the frequencies are maxed out. A TV station broadcasting on a specific frequency and using only 10% of that frequency's bandwidth is wasting 90% of the available bandwidth.

With transmissions being digital, there could be a number of television stations broadcasting a digital signal over the same frequency. They can do that by digitally signing the signal. So, for example, 10 stations could all broadcast over 1 frequency with each of them using 10% of the bandwidth instead of 10 stations on 10 frequencies each using 10% of their dedicated frequency.

The converter boxes could take in the frequency and separate each of the digital signals to their own channels.

Anyhow, these are just some thoughts I've had about it. Not sure at all if this is happening for that purpose.

TV works on low Mz range

From what I've been told, the frequency is too low for today's digital devises. most of our wireless equipment operates on at a minimum of 400 Mz. TV broadcast signal operates on less than 100Mz.

News flash

We're already being spied on, and Bush gave the legal authority to do it.

But the good news is, I didn't get attacked by terrorists on my way to work today. Thank god!

News flash, the Patriot Act

News flash, the Patriot Act has been ruled unconstitutional 5 or 6 times so far by Federal Judges. So, it seems that not all of Bush's actions were exactly "legal."

Report back when it's repealed.

Until then, your argument has little basis.
