New Hampshire Legislature Takes On Federal Gov't
February 2, 2009
New Hampshire talks Civil War against feds!
The New Hampshire state legislature took an unbelievably bold step
today by introducing a resolution to declare certain actions by the
federal government to completely totally void and warning that
certain future acts will be viewed as a "breach of peace" with the
states themselves that risks "nullifying the Constitution. "
This act by New Hampshire is a clear warning to the federal
government that they could face being stripped of their power by the States (presumably through civil war!)
The remarkable document outlines with perfect clarity, some basics
long forgotten. For instance, it reminds Congress "That the
Constitution of the United States, having delegated to Congress a
power to punish treason, counterfeiting the securities and current
coin of the United States, piracies, and felonies committed on the
high seas, and offences against the law of nations, slavery, and no
other crimes whatsoever;. . . . . therefore all acts of Congress
which assume to create, define, or punish crimes, other than those so enumerated in the Constitution are altogether void, and of no force;"
Federal gun crime laws? Void. Federal drug crime laws? Void. The
gazzillion other federal criminal laws that deal with anything other
than the specific enumerated crimes? ALL VOID.

I'm moving! (and so are 9,000 other activists)
I was born and raised in sunny Florida, but this Fall I'm moving to New Hampshire for freedom. Our Founding Fathers gave so much to secure the blessings of liberty. All we have to do is move and be ourselves.
Over 9,000 activists are moving to NH for liberty in their lifetimes, and our numbers are growing.
While others fight a losing battle in their home states, we're reclaiming our rights in New Hampshire. We're excited. This is how we can win!
But people like yourselves are needed to make it happen.
I highly recommend this documentary being produced about what we're achieving: "A Candid World" (youtube)

A tip of the beer stein to the Hampshireites! It's great to see the movement build steam.
Now we need more local stuff in other states...

I'd be tempted to move but I couldn't afford it. LOL
Because of the medical needs of my younger brother and the financial assistance I provide for my aging parents, I honestly don't have the funds to even make that journey an option. Sad but true. I'll do whatever I can to help you guys though.
this is how it starts

“A wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement” - Thomas Jefferson
Its time for state militias to rise up against the federal
this is just what has to happen
They'd be crushed pronto
.
No state militia could ever take on the Feds. They have the firepower as well as the power to arrest, detain indefinately and charge everybody with terrorism.
In a perfect world the States would assert themselves, but it's too far gone now and is far, far from a perfect world. We're in big trouble.
Apology
Hey, Everyone at DP:
I want to apologize for not doing due diligence in researching all the links on the story I found. I am not doubting the veracity of the bill pending in NH, however I have removed the Hal Turner links after learning about his bigoted stances. He has a right to be a bigoted jerk if that's his choice, but I will never post any link to his site ever again. His philosophy is not in line with Dr. Paul's philosophy nor mine.
My intention was to bring to light the exciting bill before the NH legislature to remove the state from the clutches of the Fed. Govt., not to give credit to a racist.
May this state sovereignty movement spread like wildfire!
Understood. And I thank you for making the post!
State sovereignty is the key to fixing our problems!!! If we can break the unconstitutional 14th amendment's hold then we have a HUGE whip to get Federal back in its cage.
You linked because you were being honest about where you stumbled across the information on that Bill. I didn't even know who Hal Turner was but his views are his own how ever misguided or what-ever. I don't think anyone can fault you for being honest- especially since you rectified the situation! So good work for the excellent post patriot!!!!
MAN ,at this point you do
MAN ,at this point you do not want to nullify the Constitution.. Washington State has it right....
you-no
I'd check this out with some other sources.
This guy is a xenophobic, racist, sexist idiot. That doesn't mean he is always wrong but inciting violence against individuals is not something this movement should be linked to. Mob rule over the rule of law is just one more thing that infringes on our liberty.
Free and Brave
or Cradle to Grave
You can't have both
Turner did not write the bill- he just wrote an article about it
Turner did not write the bill- he just wrote an article about it which came up in our original poster's search engine. I believe he was unaware of Turner's views so he felt obligated to honestly post where he got his information. Now that he (and myself also) have been informed on Turner, the link has been changed to go directly to the area on the New Hampshire government's website regarding this bill.
Whois lookup
If you do a whois lookup on state.nh.us then it comes up as a legitimate site of New Hampshire. Not like anyone else could nab this URL. If this is being faked then they're doing a pretty good job at it.
may i remind you...
that thomas jefferson said, "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants”.
Please explain to me how this is so different from what you are attacking?
Are you a coward? Or, are you a patriot? Do you believe in your country or do you believe in the nwo/cfr to work everything out?
Wher do you think our future lies?
O captain, My Captain, rise up and hear the bells.
You are absolutely right
The government loves you.

Someone else modified the title... Not me. I guess they must not
like ALL CAPS and !!!!!!!!!!!!
I certainly thought it was warranted.

The revolution will not be televised...
I was mostly refering to the content of the post
It was gutted and its firey spirit was destroyed by someone--much of it was simply deleted. That spirit was what made it great, and moved people. I think that infringes on your freedoms since you were not violating any Nystrom rules. It was perfect the way it was.
I think it should be a rule that if someone is going to severely edit and rearrange your work (even when it violates no rules) they should first seek permission since you are the one that is stuck with owning up to their new creation. It essentially becomes their creation and no longer yours.
"There can be only one permanent revolution - a moral one: The regeneration of the inner man."
—Tolstoy
Warranted?
Why? Because anything you post is obviously so important that normal decorum doesn't apply?
ALL CAPS is bad form. It's considered shouting. If everyone who thought their post was important utilized it, 75% of the site would be in capital letters.
There's what people think is warranted given their narrow approach to an idea, and what's best for the site overall (and the movement overall). That's why the truthers, conspiracy theorists, racists, tax protesters, etc., need to tone down their rhetoric on this site: it makes the movement look bad.
Oh, and since you posted this, I have a question for you: did you think posting an amateurish, ALL CAPS post that linked to a site with racist rhetoric would help the cause? Hmm.
Amateurish?
And you Mr. Jack Parkman, Are soooooo not amateursish! THANKS FOR THE ALL CAPS POLICE!
Thanks
I like to think I'm not amateurish, seeing as how I work in PR. That doesn't mean I can't be childish, foolish, and Irish all at once. :)
up yours, jack...
what makes you think you are so important that you can dictate what is and what isn't important on this site?
Oh, and since you posted that, I have a question for you: How would you like visiting a site where you, bbagnall, and very few others were all that routinely blogged here? Be careful who you try to cut out, you may find yourself in a very small minority...Jack!
O Captain, My Captain, rise up and hear the bells!
How mature
Angry snipe aside, you make some decent points and some myopic ones.
I'm not "dictating" anything. I stated an opinion, just like 99% of the posters here. Does the fact that my opinion calls for moderation and restraint offend you? Oh well. I'm sure you'll get over it.
You make a good point when it comes to inclusiveness, but if you're applying it to this situation I think you're going too far. I think this site does a good job at bringing a lot of diverse people together. Michael Nystrom and others merely try to keep the discussion germane, respectful, and "unembarrassing" (for lack of a better word).
That's why people like me try working with some of the more "fringe" (by society's standard -- I'm not trying to marginalize them) posters and ask them to look at the bigger picture.
In my efforts as a Meetup organizer, I've worked with the chemtrails activists, 9/11 truthers, survivalist types, and some people I've suspected of being white supremacists. I made it clear to everyone that I wasn't judging their beliefs, and wouldn't exclude anyone. But I also made it clear that Ron Paul events were NOT an appropriate place to spread their other messages. It's not an issue of right or wrong, but an issue of perception. If I was a mainstream person casually interested in helping out with a campaign and the first thing I saw was someone holding up 9/11 conspiracy signs or talking to me about chemtrails, I'd leave.
That's the irony: if you take "inclusiveness" too far, without moderation, you wind up with an environment that EXCLUDES people.
A good example is a very nice family who helped us at many events, and had thousands of Freedom to Fascism DVDs. I happen to think that DVD is very interesting, but goes a bit far in its conclusions and is probably not a wise thing to give to "beginners" in the movement. So I explained my concern, ASKED them not to hand them out to random passersby on the street (at sign wavings, rallies, etc.), but told them I thought it was something they were more than welcome to share with like-minded people after they got to know them as long-time freedom fighters, knowledgeable about our awful tax code, etc.
That's my concern about this racist garbage (and sorry, but this is one area where I will judge some of the more extreme people). The site the poster linked to has moderated comments (comments are approved before being displayed) and at least one of them is riddled with the N-word. These aren't merely secessionists or "white supremacists;" they're racists. They're the kind of people who, if you join up with them, will scare away the more mainstream supporters we will need in the long run to grow this movement.
My view is that all are welcome to support Ron Paul, and we shouldn't judge (except in extreme situations). But we should take a cautious approach when it comes to what is germane discourse within the movement. People are free to have their own outside interests, no matter how fringe they may be perceived. But they should keep those interests separate from the freedom movement -- or risk hurting it.
Thank you JackParkman for speaking up and
for making your points so well. I fully agree.
I agree with JackParkman
Take a few seconds to look at the comments on that site. It's like a KKK magnet. I'd want nothing to do with that pond scum.

Talk to someone new every day. You'll be surprised what you learn.
Believe it or not,
I'm a fan of word power more than letter power. The title above is plenty powerful.
Bigotry
There's a disturbing amount of bigotry on that blog, and I don't think we should be linking to it.
then by all means...DON"T!
but don't presume, jack, to tell me, or WE, what we should be doing...
and btw, i haven't even looked at the site but you might btfu and worry about your own self...
O Captain, My Captain, rise up and hear the bells!
I don't disagree with that.
However the bill has nothing to do with that site and can be stand on its own as a link to the New Hampshire website. The linked website was just the means of which the original poster became aware of this bill.
Understandable, but...
...if we're going to rally people to the cause of Constitutionality, we're only going to hurt our cause if we're standing side by side with unseemly characters. Look, we all know how these things go. If it gets any media attention, it's liable to mention how white supremacists are ecstatic. Or, those who oppose us will use it as ammunition.
That doesn't make it RIGHT. We shouldn't have to condone/rebuke the unrelated ideas of those who agree with us -- it should be irrelevant. But that's not how the world of spin works.
OMG!
...sweet jesus, joseph, and mary...do you actually make decisions in your life or do you spend ALL of your time splitting hairs?
i mean, for christ's sake, what the heck about the Hew Hampshire legislature and the bold stand they are making to question the authority, or lack thereof, of the federal gov't to TELL them how to live their lives while, at the same time, making a constitutional stand in defense of their own freedom...
are you actually trying to get people off the subject about this very important topic with your lunacy?
stay on subject, man! please quit wasting our time on triviality
O Captain, My Captain, rise up and hear the bells!
Third time
This was the third time this NH bill was mentioned at DP. The other two didn't use all caps in the title, though. ;)

Well I give massive points to all who have posted this!!!!!
I'm In.....
Today, I sent emails to both my state senator and representative asking their opinion on this legislation. I also asked if they would consider proposing equal legislation in the Great State of Texas.
I got the standard "out of office", "we're so busy, don't expect an answer", from my senator. My representative has yet to reply.
Don't worry...
They WILL put you on their mailing list for future solicitations of campaign contributions.

Need This in TN
I'm tired of getting screwed repeatedly by the government. However, this might have been a little easier to get accomplished while Bush was in office. Trying this now will no doubt get people labeled as racists since Obama is in office; anything to keep us divided I guess.
It will be interesting how this plays out if this is in fact real.
IMHO Obama, along with the
IMHO Obama, along with the Democrats using Bailout pass II to install and fund a socialist superstate, makes it easier to get this sort of thing through. The threat is immediate and massive.
After the Bush administration's attacks on due process, search & seizure, and habeas corpus, creating the machinery of power for Obama to use, along with the Republicans using Bailout pass I to loot the treasury for their buddies in the financial industry, it's clear that there's no help available on the other side of the aisle.
So state governments and their citizens are now in a position where they have to use sovereignty or lose it. The time is ripe for such resolutions.
But it will be interesting to see if the party aparatchiks at the state level will cleave to their party machine or make a stand for their states and constituents.
We still have to try
I'm sick of the way things are going in Tn. Don't forget that there's a lot of unhappy McCain fans around.
"It's just one big club... and WE ain't in it!"
NH is trending Democratic...
and loves Obama...don't expect a damn thing to come of this...however, my fingers are crossed!
