Financial fix? Abolish Fed, says congressman.
Paul: Constitution requires coin based on gold, silver
By Bob Unruh
In just recent weeks, the federal government has designated billions of tax dollars for bank bailouts, including vast quantities to quasi-government agencies that helped create the economic crisis; billions more for automakers, and billions more for homeowners who default on their loans, so where will it end? Republican Rep. Ron Paul of Texas says he has at least part of the answer: abolish the Federal Reserve.
The congressman, a candidate for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination, once again has introduced a bill that would get rid of the private organization that sets interest rates and establishes monetary priorities.
"Abolishing the Federal Reserve will allow Congress to reassert its constitutional authority over monetary policy," Paul said in a statement at the time the proposal was introduced.
"The United States Constitution grants to Congress the authority to coin money and regulate the value of the currency," Paul said. "The Constitution does not give Congress the authority to delegate control over monetary policy to a central bank. Furthermore, the Constitution certainly does not empower the federal government to erode the American standard of living via an inflationary monetary policy."

WND is a Zionist Propaganda Shill mascarading as conservative.
WND and its editor Farah are warmongering Zionists who miss no chance to be apologists for the Zionists and who miss no chance to spread their propaganda against Iran or anyone who doesn't support Israel's immoral policies.
They give lip service to the constitution, but editorialize in favor of those who oppose actually taking any steps to restore the constitutional Republic.
Be aware friends of these people trying to capitalize on the Freedom Movement. WND strategically used every trick in their hat to underscore Dr. Paul's success during the presidential election.
WND in my opinion is part of the neocon-zionist-one party system propaganda machine. http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=56177 (thanks neoconned)

sorry
While I admire the fact that WND is now putting the good Doctor's wisdom on the front page it sure would have been appreciated DURING THE PRIMARIES rather than posting articles such as these:

And now I'm quite certain Mr.Farah is tickled pink with all the web traffic he is getting from the Ron Paul Revolution. Perhaps someone should send him a copy of Ron Paul's "A Foreign Policy of Freedom". Until Mr.Farah publicly denounces his position on foreign interventionism then he will not get my support.
Dr.Paul was correct about the economic issues facing the US and he was and still is correct on the issues facing us because of our foreign policy of interventionism. Until Glenn Beck, Farah and the others come around to that fact they are basically just conservative-lite and/or neo-conservative douchebags imo.
any chance we could get an all new congress (except 1?)
I hate to say it, but Paul's eliminate the FED is a quixotic quest if you're expecting it'll ever pass with the current group of scoundrels. However, I think it's an education tour de force for state's to get their financial houses in order.
Having states pass legislation like www.goldmoneybill.org will be the start of sound money.

The states need to take back
their right to select the federal Senators.
The way that it is going now...
there is more than a good chance that congress along with Chairman O, will be swept out (if not worse) when the financial system collapses completely, like it nearly did late last year. When it gets to the point that nobody knows what to do in congress, the people will take matters into their own hands and will demand that the "useless" congress take a hike.
I certainly hope so
When the people failed to kick Congress to the curb after passing the WORSE bailout package I lost all faith in America's ability to discern the truth from infotainment. We got another chance next year, we'll see if the people are still idiots.

Have you forgotten already?
The people voted overwhelmingly to kick the bums out during the last mid-term elections.
All it accomplished was... NOTHING.
There is no longer a political solution, it will require a restoration of morality to save this world from the mess it is in.
As much as I don't like the prospect of Martial Law, I see that good could come from it.
Our military wants a commander in chief they can respect.
I am quite sure our men and women in uniform would be more than happy to kick the bums out, given the opportunity.
Are you trying to say that the people will then REALLY want...
..."change"?

Ron Paul = Red Pill
As the comedian Billy Crystal would say...
"absolutely!" The people will be desperately hungry and pissed off by that time.
I hope you all are right. That would really
be cool. At least we have another chance in 2010.
Debbie
write your congressman
write your congressman maybe someone will co=sponser this bill with the great dr.
Write my congressman?
My friend, I wrote, faxed, email, called, fedexed everybody in congress over the first tarp bill as did millions of Americans who overwhelmingly did not want it's passage. They completely ignored me and the American people. Nahh, does no good to "write you congressman." Gonna have to take a lot more to wake them up, but it IS coming.
sadly your right
sadly your write, but you must give them warning. then try like hell to vote them out when not listened to.regaurdless of party. you're also right something is coming. i just hope someone in congress accually willl listen to his district and support his people grow a pair and co-sign the bill
Making progress, baby...
I remember in the not too distant past that many Americans had no idea that the Federal Reserve bank was a private organization. I think a good number of Americans know it now and their theft of the people's money. Still, Dr. Paul can get "no" co-sponsors to ditch the fed? We really need to toss those thieves and gangsters out of our congress and get back to the constitution. 2010 may be the year of the "clean sweep". I say that because things are only going to get worse, then the people will demand "real change."
Yes, and that's why we still need to lobby our congress critters
to be brave enough to sign on to this bill! I think from the type of things Dr. Paul has said they tell him "off the record", that they would like to get rid of it, but are scared to step up to the plate. I think they should be challenged and demanded to do the right thing. They are actually quite robotic." Who is brave enough to do it??" We owe it to Dr. Paul to get him some co-sponsors!
