My complaint to the FCC against MSNBC and Keith Olbermann
Submitted by Bob-45 on Sat, 02/28/2009 - 06:34
Filing for: Robert has been received by FCC. Thanks for your information. When inquiring about your complaint, be sure to reference this number: 09-C00097343 and, be sure to mention that you filed this complaint over the internet.
MSNBC in general and Keith Olbermann in particular deliberately ignored Congressman Ron Paul in their 2008 and 2012 presidential coverage. While Olbermann and MSNBC fully broadcast the April 8, 2008 questioning of General Petraeus by Senators McCain, Clinton and Obama, Olbermann and MSNBC failed to even mention Congressman Paul's questioning, showing General Petraeus in the House but not even providing sound. In virtually all of MSNBC's advertising for the primaries, Congressman Paul's photo was excluded, and Congressman Paul's numbers were virtually never shown on primary election night, even when he outpolled better known candidates, such as John McCain, Fred Thompson and Rudolph Guiliani. The final outrage is this week's coverage of CPAC (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29391508/), "The GOP's first 2012 cattle call".
Congressman Paul's name is not even mentioned in the article, even though he is a more credible 2012 presidential candidate than John McCain.

the FCC regulates...
..broadcast Television. MSNBC is cable, therefore while writing your complaint may feel good, it is a waste of your time. The FCC doesn't regulate cable or MSNBC....If your complaint was NBC, you might have a chance.
MSNBC owned by GE
MSNBC is owned by GE, a major defence contractor. Jeffrey Immelt CEO of GE is a Director at Federal Reserve Bank of New York. So when you watch NBC, CNBC, or MSNBC you are watching the military industrial complex Federal Reserve Bank television network. What are the odds that they will give coverage to Ron Paul, a candidate who wants to shrink the military empire and abolish the Fed?
good job
bump.
bob I appreciate what youve done
but there is just one thing these jackass"s understand and is BOYCOTT .I will make sure to watch kieth overstink next time he comes on {even if I have to hold my nose} and Ill find out who his sponcors are ill run these sponcors thru here and put put them on a few other freeedom sites and beleave in a few days hell well get to see him wiggle and squirm on live TV.
won't work
They are wired into the schools, prisons, churches, grocery stores...
oh it can l work and it will granger
once these sponcors start realizing that were boycotting them they ll want want stay miles away from oberstink
Realistically look at our numbers; it could never work
Boycotting a TV channel is easy---turn it off.
The media owes you NOTHING.
You want to use government to force MSNBC to give you coverage of Ron Paul. This flies in the face of what Ron Paul is about. We should be respecting freedom of speech and property. If you don't like what MSNBC is saying or not saying, change the channel.
How can you be a Paul supporter and do such a cowardly thing?

"I now call the Federal Reserve the fourth branch of government." -Ron Paul
What's the alternative?
Who does Bob-45 go to if not the government? ACLU? Ralph Nader? Both sue the government for putting corporate interests above we the people, which in this case, isn't it true that media, claiming to be a source you can trust, deliberatly misled the public during the election, not giving them information to make their own choices, but to make the choices MSM wanted for themselves?
He could change the channel
I think running to the authorities because something bothers you is wrong. I would never even call the cops to my house for anything. If I caught a robber, I'd cuff him and drive him to the police station myself, unless he had a bunch of cash. Then I'd make him give me the cash and I'd cuff him and drive him to a police station in another state. Seriously, I don't think they should show stories about missing kids or celebrity weddings, but I'm not gonna complain to Uncle Sam about it, I bought a remote control.
He's not running to the authorities.
People don't call the cops in rural areas because the cops take the caller to jail. This isn't about calling the cops. This is about we the people being bilked out of Millions of dollars in a rigged game and those who did the rigging should be taken to task for it.
You're so wise
It's no wonder we adore you so.
Sic Semper Tyrannis
Again, they don't owe you anything.
It's their own property and their own voice. You're not entitled to ANY information. It's your responsibility to obtain information on your own if no one is supplying it. I suppose you support the Fairness Doctrine too? That's what some leftists want in order to force the media to present "both sides" of issues. Get out of the leftist/socialist mindset. If you're going to represent Ron Paul, as a supporter, you need to defend private property rights and free speech. The last thing you should be supporting is government control over the media. The Constitution guarantees a press that is free from government regulation.

The Constitution Protects WHO?
Does the constitution protect we the people or private corporations? Communists protect corporations in the name of the people's republic.
Let's apply what you are saying to food stores. Because they day, we the people have only 4 food stores controlling all our food, and the day they put contaminated food on the shelves and give us ads that strongly suggest, with government approva,l we buy what they sell, and the government limits us to buying what they sell, and what they sell is limited to broccoli and peanuts, where do we the people who are alergic to brocoli and peants go to get the food we need? In a communist regime, we starve. In a constitutional republic, we sue the government to get capital to compete, so we can eat too.
As the the Fairnes doctorine, as a third party, Indy, there;s more than two sides... to really be fair. More voices and choices is capitalism working at it's best. One voice that lies, doesn't need government regulation, it's needs competition.
I have never owned a TV, I don't watch Hannity, or listen to Limpblah or see Oprah, and yet, what is so amazing is that when I do see a TV, for they are everywhere, it's always the same propeganda. I don't buy it, but allot of people do.
That's right. Pop culture is what it is. I had no trouble
finding info about the candidates.
Well, you did good
to point out the flawed coverage and I appreciate that you took the time to expose it. Maybe if we all started to stand up and point out things that are wrong maybe we don't need a leader, in essence we are all leaders. We must find the courage and energy to step up and point out when things are not right.
PMSNBC and oberfuhrer are
PMSNBC and oberfuhrer are private individuals operating a for profit business. they should be able to broadcast whatever the hell they want. if you don't like what they do, turn off the television and stop watching their mindless garbage!
running to the government and complaining that there ought to be a law flies in the face of liberty.
There is a law, well, FCC regulation ....
that requires broadcasters to operate "...in the public interest". Congressman Paul certainly doesn't refuse federal funds for his district, even if he votes against the appropriations for Constitutional principles. Besides, ignoring Congressman Paul constitutes de facto fraud, and for profit business practice fraud at their peril.
Forcing broadcasters to operate in the "public interest"
is SOCIALISM. Freedom is about letting broadcasters operate in THEIR OWN INTERESTS.

operating in your own
operating in your own selfish interests is in the public interest.
"the virtue of selfishness" by ayn rand explains everything.
Good for you.
I'm sure you don't expect much from the FCC. They are a feckless and useless bunch. Do their job? They don't even know what their job is. I think obviously we could deep-six the entire organization and we'd all be better off.
Of course MSNBC is, in general, an embaressment to broadcasting. But I really don't care what they do. They need more competition!
