Hello fellow dper's,
I am attending a lecture tomorrow given by Justice John Roberts, if I can get to a microphone to ask him about Barack Obama's eligibility and why it has not been brought before the court for a hearing and have an opportunity to ask any other questions, what would you like me to ask?? I will have a friend with me to record on tape and hopefully will be able to get it up on youtube for you all. Hope to hear some feedback from you guys! (Oh, and if you could list in order of importance, that would be great!)

Hasn't the doctrine of "implied" executive powers allowed the expansion of Federal power and shouldn't the court reverse its prior rulings that allowed powers beyond the 16 Explicit Powers in the Constitution?

In addition to my prior comment about the Ninth Amendment, I would also like to know Chief Justice Roberts' opinion about Congress' power to "borrow money on the credit of the United States." Given that this country is not 12T in debt, will the Court ever step in and say that Congress has borrowed too much money?
While I understand that the Supreme Court gives great deference to Congress with regards to its taxing and spending power, there hasn't been much case law interpreting the constitutionality of excessive borrowing and debt. It would be interesting if at some point down the road, someone could raise a facial challenge to this borrowing and spending spree by Congress. However, I wonder how one would get past the standing requirements: damage through inflation?

As a second-year law student who absolutely loves Constitutional Law, I am curious if Chief Justice Roberts has considered a SCOTUS interpretation of the Ninth Amendment which reads:
"The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people."
How is this Amendment interpreted? Does it mean that because of the Bill of Rights enumerates our rights that Congress can simply overlook other rights such as privacy, freedom of contract, etc.? While there is ample precedent supporting issues such as these under other parts of our Constitution, I am curious if the Court has considered reviewing any case argued under the Ninth Amendment.

Ask how LOWER COURTS can convict individuals owing an "income tax" without complying with the many Supreme Court decisions showing the unconstitutionality of many facets of the IRS and the tax codes it illegally enforces?
And how can the IRS have prosecuted individuals who have chosen not to "voluntarily comply" if the tax code states that compliance is indeed "voluntary"?

that he's not going to answer any specific questions due to the code of judicial conduct. If you want to ask him something he might not evade, keep it philosophical. For instance: "Why are you so important, and why should you be?" or "What are your thoughts on the comparative merits of a common-law system like we have in the federal courts versus a civil law jurisdiction like the Louisiana state court (or in Japan). Isn't the power to set common law a form of legislative power?"

I would ask him....
Point blank, what is it gonna take for the American people to have proof of Obama's place of birth? Really what do we need to do in order for that to happen, especially since Obama will not openly share that with us?
You might ponder asking him if he's managed to memorize
that portion of the Constitution having to do with the oath of office to be taken by the president. If he says "No", then encourage him to keep reading the document and perhaps the light will eventually come on.

She has asked for someone to ask him to consider the Obama birth certificate issue. She was told by Scalia that it would take 4 justices to agree to have it heard, and he acted likek he had not even been told about the cases that never got heard.
Please ask the Justice to look into the questionable birth certificate. And thank you so much for going! I am just too far away and can't get there. I can hardly wait to hear how it goes!

Ask him if the current federal income tax on your wages is a direct tax or an indirect tax(like an excise tax).
Ask him if a Right can be taxed (like your Right to work).
