Was Marvin Gaye a Libertarian?

I normally listen to Jazz FM when I want a break from all the depressing and misleading radio news channels over here in the UK.

However, one Marvin Gaye song I heard this morning had lyrics that sounded more like Libertarian social commentary than escapism:
