Today I called MIAC at 866-362-6422 and spoke with Lt. Platte who has apparently been assigned as a P.R. person handling this issue - the 'Strategic Report'* about 'The Modern Militia Movement.' He said he could not provide me with a copy of the original MIAC document because it was "for Missouri police only" and that it had "leaked" into the public.

When I asked Mr. Platte if it is true that Ron Paul and C4L were specifically named in the document he said, "The document may have mentioned them, but I can't recall if it does or doesn't. I don't have it in front of me."

The Lieutenant also said twice that we (C4L members and Dr. Paul) are not being profiled in the document and that the intent of the document has been "misrepresented."

At the end of the conversation I asked Mr. Platte if it is true that Missouri police are required to uphold the U.S. Constitution. He answered in the affirmative.

I have now read the document* and I doubt any Americans would believe what Mr. Platte told me if they too would read it.

There is no other way to take this pamphlet issued in Missouri OTHER than an attempt at profiling. Their is no other use for the information than to view with suspicion anyone who fits any category in that document. To claim it merely is an aggregation of trends is a lie. Distributing such 'trends' can ONLY have the intent of wanting the police forces to 'be on the lookout' and to lay the foundation for 'reasonable suspicion' for detaining and questioning law abiding citizens. The damage is done. It will take more than a simple retraction and public apology. It will take an ACTIVE effort and campaign of PROPER instruction in Constitutional Law and American History so that officers understand their role and place in the government and how they are and are NOT to treat citizens. And that will never happen. Not in our lifetimes. Not with these clowns at the helm. Every public official, under oath, who distributes this pamphlet, defends it, and does not stand firm against it and attempt to bring the other perps to justice, is likewise in violation of their own oath of office, and a hair's breath away from treason.

Don't expect a miracle. But I understand if some people must try anyway.

their seven technically and professionally written redress petitions hand carried to all members of congress and top executive branch members. What we need to do is 1. learn from our past mistakes. 2. don't repeat past mistakes. 3. try a different approach. Here is a suggestion: Look for an organization that is very successful in what they do and follow their example. I am talking about the ADL. They don't take any crap and they use the court system to full advantage. Blacks have had made giant strides by following their example. Until the freedom movement develops their own ADL (FADL or LADL?), respect will be little more than lip service.

As others have written on the thread, this petition will probably not make it to the Governor's desk, or anybody else's. Petitions just don't work these days. The government - state and Federal - are a nasty and cynical lot. If they read it at all, they would then probably pass it around a get a good chuckle out of it - at our expense.

EDITED WITH A SUGGESTION:

I am not suggesting you do nothing, but writing letters, petitions and so forth won't work. Try this.

Get 10 Missouri Ron Paul supporters together. Make sure you look fairly presentable, as if you were apparing in Court. (Sorry, but it helps). Then, go to the Missouri Information Analysis Center and ask to speak to the public relations person. Or, find out who is in charge and call up to make an appointment. Go there in person, all ten of you. Meet beforehand and pick a spokesman and plan what you are going to say. Don't just storm the place and start shouting. Find out who is responsible, and what their reasons are. Hold their feet to the fire.

If you can, find out all the names of the people who work there, where they live, their home phone numbers, and so forth.

Also, find out if there is a local radio station that will report this, or cover it. TV may not, but it's worth a call.

Turn your protest into an EVENT !

I'm greatly offended by the labeling of constitutionalist and the lumping of libertarians, and Ron Paul supporters, with the likes that sent planes into the World Trade Centers.
So this is what it comes down to, thats fine, more fire to the perverbial fuel. What does MIAC actually wish to acomplish...further stimulating the movement. By targeting honest, peaceful civilians, and arresting them for upholding the Constitution. It's going to hit a sensitive spot. Not to worry. This is what is expected, do you think our fore-fathers weren't for a second deemed traitors. History has a funny way of repeating itself, this time we'll do it right.

Maybe I'm just in a bad mood, but this has to be one of the top 10 dumbest petitions ever written. It sounds like a child pieced it together from text grabbed off of RPF.

Why would the MO government care what people from across the country have to say? We don't vote there. Neither Ron Paul or C4L members were singled out either.

Empty 'threat' against MO politicians from residents of other states. Corny cliche phrases like 'love freedom and liberty' sound good in conversation or in an email to friends, but in a petition to a governor and attorney general? Please.

P.S. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't fusion centers receive resources and funds from the DHS and DOJ? Where is the action against these agencies? Where is the action against the Federal Government?

However, is this what 'they' want us to do ? Basically get all the names to...I don't know....It all seems so bizarre. There were some election shenanigans in Missouri regarding Ron Paul votes at the Caucus if I remember correctly. ?
