Free trade really is good - but only if it's really free trade. That would be unsubsidized, un-tarriffed products moving from country to country as the market demands. Free trade has not existed in at least a hundred years. As with so many things, they label "screw America" rules and treaties as "free trade" so the sheeple will accept it.

Maybe I need to learn more about this subject but is Free Trade bad in in of itself or is it simply that you think the idea of free trade was hijacked by the NWO?

From recently revisiting Bastiat's "The Law", it seems that the basic idea of free trade is good. But like everything else, the politicians have hijacked a good idea and made it bad. Beck didn't say that he supported all of nafta, he simply refers to it as an agreement we made and never mentions it again. Beck often does this when the people who oppose something they are for on the other end to point out their hypocrisy. That doesn't mean he is for nafta.

This video seems to show that he is for the basic idea of free trade, but again, isn't the idea at the core of free trade good?

I think we shouldn't be so divided about this Beck thing. Yes, he's changed some views recently but they've not been sudden and have followed a logical progression. So he isn't 100% there when it comes to a few things, but he is making some great progress. I'd actually be more concerned if he were 100% there overnight. Sometimes the road to freedom is a gradual progression as it was for me.

Look at it this way- Mexicans driving trucks in the United States doesn't violate anyone's rights. Therefore government should just stay out of the way.

And if you think banning it is going to help, I suggest you take a look at how well the drug war is working out.

Uh, OK? So now we want people to be beholden to our Gas and oil taxes?

And why should Mexican truckers not be able to truck goods throughout the US, as long as the goods are cleared at the border, tariffs are paid, and the trucks and their drivers are up the US standards? With Obama hellbent on returning as much of America as possible to Jimmy Hoffa and his ilk in return for campaign contributions, this may put at least some limits on how far the two of them together can go in raping us. If I want to move somewhere, the more truckers I can choose from to move my stuff, the better. It's not like I can't choose an American guy, if I should feel so inclined.

Freedom means freedom from government intervention in the choices of individual citizens. If someone makes the choice of hiring a Mexican trucker, that's still his choice. Obama et al have no business even knowing about it, much less prohibiting it.

Beck is by far and away the media persona (with ratings in over 3 million a day) whose issues most closely align up with the majority of our own. There are differences of opinion even in our own forum among people who share the ideology of freedom. Let's count our blessings that Beck has come so far in understanding things aren't as they seem (step #1). Likewise, I consider Bob Barr a proponent of freedom...while not 100% aligned, he is definitely better than almost anything else out there. Things are going to become more and more polarized in regards to freedom and liberty, let's choose our battles wisely and who we target for those battles otherwise we'll be 'tilting at windmills'.

I'm sure many people once supported a bill like that, then they were informed the reasons it shouldn't be supported and they change. I'm not saying Beck will change on this topic, but he is just a human which has the same mind you have but with different outlooks on the world. It takes knowledge and open minds to change those outlooks as it took the same to change ours.
