Indiana Congressman Mike Pence has finally signed on as a co-sponsor of this bill. I have called his office five times (the 5th time today after waiting 3 weeks since my prior calls) and asked again and I was put on hold and a gentleman came back and acknowledged that Mr. Pence is now a Co-Sponsor!

About a month after i originally emailed him, Hank Johnson from GA-04 finally responded:

Thank you for contacting me to express your support for HR 1207, the Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009.

Although many may believe that the Federal Reserve is only exacerbating the problems of our current economic state, since its inception in 1913, it has kept its fundamental purpose. These objectives include addressing the problem of banking panics, to strike a balance between private interests of banks and the centralized responsibility of government, and to maintain the stability of the financial system and contain systemic risk in financial markets.

The U.S. Treasury Department is needed in these tough times to help purchase many of the troubled assets that are preventing both small and large banks from lending. We must free up credit among these institutions in order for our economy to get back on track. I also understand the importance of keeping public records available to our citizens so that they can know the details of transactions made by the Federal Reserve.

HR 1207 will be voted on by the House Financial Services Committee and I will take a close look at it when it reaches the full House for a vote.

I feel an audit of the federal reserve would reveal "corrupt politicians" and the businesses that favor them.
I don't buy the reasoning that the fed is protected from political influence.The fed wields the influence and the politicians use it as cover. It's another instance where the congress has unconstitutionally delegated their responsibility to hide their (and others) intentions.If the government actually produced interest free money,and did what the fed has done,they would be voted out at the next election.

I don't know if this has already been brought up, but according to Wiki, the Comptroller of the U.S. has "for every fiscal year since 1996, (when consolidated financial statements began), refused to endorse the accuracy of the consolidated figures for the federal budget, citing "(1) serious financial management problems at the Department of Defense, (2) the federal government’s inability to adequately account for and reconcile intragovernmental activity and balances between federal agencies, and (3) the federal government’s ineffective process for preparing the consolidated financial statements."

Seems to me that Dr. Paul's Bill has a flaw by giving this "head of accountability" the power to claim nothing can be concluded in an audit 'cuz the governments financial management is a mess.

Called Congressman Mike McCaul's office in DC this morning for the second time. Why is he dragging his feet about jumping on board in co-sponsoring Dr Paul's HR 1207. I asked the guy that answered the phone if McCaul was waiting to see what everyone else was doing before he stood up? Told him HR 1207 has over fifty co-sponsors. If there are any Texans out there, we need to put pressure on McCaul. He is not informed at all.....

All for HR1207. END THE FED and send them away named SECOND CHOICE GLOBAL LOAN SERVICE. ( Enslaving nations since 1913)

I was able to have him personally answer my question today at a public meeting in Waverly,IA with about 100 in attendance. I told the audience that in 1950 the law was changed that exempted the Federal Reserve from any auditing procedures and they have run wild since then. I said HR 1207 and S 513 have been introduced to the Senate, The Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009, it now has 58 cosponsers. I asked him then if he wants more transparency so that the FED will have to answer questions pertaining to its secretive dealings? He answered Yes.
Get after the Iowa Reps as no cosponsers from IA Reps are on it.

Ron Paul's Convention Speech

Here in Bakersfield, CA I collected 40 Audit the Fed signatures at a sign making event for April the 15th (tax day). The group I was absorbing into the C4L was a spontaneous group formed by Glen Beck's audience in my hometown called wesurroundthembakersfield.com. It is aparently being promoted by Glen Beck; tea parties are being promoted. Anyway, these people were very well informed about the Federal Reserve and Ron Paul. I set up a table and by the end of the event, the organizers were so happy with mine and a few other RP supporter's enthusiasm that they want us to speak about the C4L at the Tea Party here. The radio stations are promoting it on local talk radio. So, I handed out C4L info and many people took copies of the Audit the Fed petition to bring to friends, family etc.

I suggest you look for one of these groups in your area. Beck's audience is open to our ideas and we must absorb them into our movement. I will be influencing them here. This activity being promoted by Beck is completly lacking, as of yet, in organization. I explained to attendees that the C4L was the national organization we need to fill that leadership void in their group.

In our area, we need between 10,000-30,000 voters out of a population of 400,000 to take over the local politics. Everyone at this event understands that. Let me know if you find anything out and how it goes. Print some audit the Fed fliers from the C4L site under fliers.
