Well that was depressing.

I've turn off the TV so I get all my news online. I had no idea what the tax protest coverage was like that.

That CNN woman was... well in the interest of keeping this post family friendly lets not say.

Kudos to that lady who took her to task afterwards, the guy who interceded halfway through the interview to keep the reporter from badgering the man with the child, and, of course, whoever who filmed that.

Post this thing far and wide. Keep 'em honest.

That suburban housewife

got it RIGHT!

But they are not listening.

The reporter tried to goad the woman into admitting she was some right-wing fringe fanatic who spends all of her time on right-wing fringe internet sites. BUT in fact this woman represents mainstream America...or at least those in America who care enough to listen and speak up.

So glad she said it wasn't a Republican/Democrat/Bush/Obama specific issue. It's the whole lot of them. They're all reading from the same script.

You go girl!

The CNN reporter's attitude and motives is/are frightening.

Cody Willard takes on Jon Stewart

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_i3MgfRNqc

For the exact same treatment.

This is getting old.

The reporter

knocked the guy with the baby off his balance pretty easily but then ran into a buzz saw with that woman who just took her to school. Talked to her like a child.

"Tyrants fear nothing more than insubordination"

"It's just one big club... and WE ain't in it!"

"Tyrants fear nothing more than insubordination"

"It's just one big club... and WE ain't in it!"

that old fart walking back and forth was definitely a...

provocateur. I wish I were there to smack this stupid hat off his head. As for the reporteress from CNN... oh she just didn't know :(

I Don't Know That it is the Media's Job to be Watchdogs

The news we get these days is bought and paid for by sponsors. I think the news outlets are more in the business of doing what their sponsors want to ensure that the sponsors sell their products. Of course, the news outlets want their own ratings to go up as well. If we want true and fair reporting, we have to do it ourselves. And I think it is a particular challenge to present any news without bias.

I also believe that there was a very real, concerted effort to distort the message of the Tea Parties from a number of different news sources. It is as though the media cannot imagine that American citizens might genuinely be fed up with the shenaigans of their government and that those same people come from across the political spectrum. They are missing the real story and what a great story it is!

Proud member of Ron Paul's Revolution

If the FCC didn't have such

If the FCC didn't have such a tight grip on the airwaves, then competing viewpoints could get equal presence. As it is they are supposed to assure equal time during campaign periods but we see how that went. So, its not enough to believe they are private companies and can do as they like when they are in collusion with government that controls the access and delivery of broadcasters.

Thier is only one true revolution

Awareness.. and one weapon.. Truth.

UPDATE: Woman in Video confronting the CNN Reporter has posted a response on why she did it:

"I am the woman scolding the reporter in the video for her ridiculous confrontation with the protesters, and her biased reporting. Something that all of us conservatives must remember is that the left-wing media will do whatever it takes to marginalize us, degrade us, and disenfranchise us. Although I didn't know that a blogger was videotaping the whole thing, I am glad that he did. I'm also glad that this video has gained so much exposure on Fox and the internet.

All of us conservatives must continue to educate ourselves on the media lies and distortions, and we MUST stay informed on what the government is doing to us. When our liberal friends and relatives accuse us once again that we didn't complain when Bush was overspending and piling up debt, we must answer them. I routinely remind liberals that the Obama administration isn't just doing what Bush did, he's quadrupling what Bush did! I didn't agree with the debt we were piling up during the Bush years, but we were recovering from 9/11 and we were fighting two wars. Obama's spending is for entitlements, socialization of our country and economy, and he's falsely using the financial crisis to fundamentally change our country.

The mainstream media is helping Obama with this mission. Their corruption is astounding. That CNN reporter zeroed in on one guy who was holding up an offensive sign depicting Obama as Hitler, and she chose to interview him first. I personally believe that man was an ACORN plant, and it wouldn't surprise me if CNN knew that. My beef with her after she got done interviewing him and the gentleman with the baby, was that she was distorting what the majority of us were doing. She had an agenda that had to be confronted. She also showed extreme disrespect for the man with the baby, who was an honest man trying to explain his point of view. And to top it off, she accused me, and others, of being sent to the rally by some organized group and FOX News....as if she couldn't believe that we were just Americans expressing our freedom of speech and disgust with government overspending.

On top of this, Anderson Cooper, Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow spent a week prior to the protests denigrating us by comparing us to a sexual act that they probably invented! So much for Obama's promise of hope, change, and bringing the country together. There's more division, hatred, and vitriol now than there ever was during the Bush years. And that division was a hard act to follow. This is what Obama has wrought with the help of the media.

Lastly, that CNN reporter represented something really vulgar and disgusting about the mainstream media in today's world. They are supposed to be the voice of the people...the watchdogs....the check on the government's over-reaching. They are not supposed to be the shill for the government they want. And that is what they have become. Cheap, vulgar shills. "

This letter is an OP

i wouldn't be surprised if it was fake. It falls into the exact paradigm that the lady in the video was complaining about.

one day she gets it, and now, she lost it?

I, for one, am not buying it.

wha .... huh?

so obama is QUADRUPLING what

so obama is QUADRUPLING what bush did!!!!!

well holy crap,

then right now, I'm abandoning my libertarian position and going back to mainstream republicanism!!!! (i'm still a registered republican in texas)

AND WE WERE FIGHTING WARS PEOPLE!!!! (and not a negative word mentioned on that topic)

this woman is armed with a calculator, she knows the facts, and she's fighting back!

/sarcasm over

thank god she doesn't speak for me.

Yeah, I noticed that too.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Thankfully she didn't say that spiel during the video. It completely contradicts that assertion that it isn't a R & D thing. I do understand her frustration with the left....I mean look they sure are quiet about the war suddenly, however American's need to stop dividing ourselves over candidates and splinter issues and focus on the biggest threats which transcend all parties. Moreover, Republicans won't have any credibility until they examine and take responsibility for the wars. It would be so easy for them to save face if they realize they were lied to and manipulated by treasonous elements in our government and media.

Kathy...I'm so glad you put Susan Roesgen in her place during the TEA party in Chicago. Whether you know it or not, you were a beacon of freedom and a single voice for me and every other American who is sick and tired of what's going. I was wondering though, do you think John McCain (who voted for the bankster bailout too) would have made any difference? I don't. In fact, I don't think the republicans or the democrats in our federal government have our best interests in mind. From what I heard in the video, you might feel the same way. This is the first time I've ever voted for a 3rd party candidate. I voted for Bush twice because I thought he was the lesser of two evils. It took me a while to realize that evil is evil, so why should I vote for it?

I just think it's time for a major change and complete overhaul of our government. Something similar to what our founding fathers gave us. In fact, they specifically designed the Constitution to avoid what's happening now. Unfortunately, most people were too lazy or dumbed down to figure out what was happening (and I was one of those lazy, dumbed down people until about 7 months ago). I think it's time we all rally around what change really is and vote people into office that DO have our best interests in mind, because it's obvious the vast majority of our elected officials won't change ANYTHING! Thanks for speaking out against the mainstream media.

Would still like to know her name

Mrs. Howard Beale

Freedom is popular

She pathetically failed at trying to categorize, group, and create associations. Freedom is popular and brings us together, their divide and conquer tactics are getting old.

That CNN wench was trying to get that other woman to say...

She heard about the Tea Party by being a Ron Paul supporter.

Then try to discredit her.

I would have personally had my many Ron Paul buttons staring her in the face.

That CNN wench is too stupid to know right from wrong. But she was most likely educated in a government run school.

Pawnstorm

I felt like reaching through

the screen and attacking that b*tch! "You don't have to be so antagonistic"? Way to go "suburban self-employed" lady, for speaking up so clearly and schooling that antagonizing wench!
(i wouldn't have really attacked her, but BOY, that made my blood boil)

AlixH

that GREAT sign ~

~
I also love it when at the very end the woman accentuates her point by pointing to that divinely inspired sign,

Republicans SUCK, Too!
End The Fed

GOLD!

Then the reporter says "What does this mean?" and the young girl says, "It means that you're trying to tell them that we're (points to self) bad people!"

Can anyone catch the exact wording?

Tell CNN Bosses Bias Is Bad for Business

By now you've probably seen the Youtube video of CNN's Susan Roesgen, a reporter who harrassed and goaded attendees at Thursday's Chicago Tea Party. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMxKMr2wnhk

Your outrage has caused CNN to shut down Roesgen's email inbox.

We suggest you now send your emails to CNN Executive Vice President Ken Jautz : ken.jautz@cnn.com and Philip Kent, the Chairman and CEO of CNN: phil.kent@turner.com

Let Susan's boss know you're not going to let off the hook a left-wing activist with a mic who was denouncing a legitimate and honest political movement by hard working Americans. Remind the CNN honchos that there were close to one million attendees at the tea parties.

That's really got to hurt.

I know that woman wasn't expecting to get her agenda shoved back up the orifice it came out of.

Bill Whittle did a very fine job of shredding her here:

The last time a reporter got caught with their bias hanging out like this was when Dan Rather got caught trying to toss the election to Kerry with a handful of incompetent forgeries.

I had just checked during the night, and that's where I got my figures ... but I did just check my youtube favorites section, and you are indeed correct!

Remember, remember, the 5th of November ;-)

"I will be as harsh as truth, and uncompromising as justice... I am in earnest, I will not equivocate, I will not excuse, I will not retreat a single inch, and I will be heard." ~ William Lloyd Garrison

Instead of the message not clearly put on CNN

we could try to be more effective in explaining our cause. Get straight to the point.

We may get really frustrated and annoyed with these media people who consistently try to marginalize the cause, but anger and frustration need to be controlled, otherwise one would simply be an example of an angry extremist. That is not the face of liberty, nor the way the message of freedom influences you.

Look at the extra anger generated, and no advance. The only thing the reporter got right was that it isn't helpful to antagonize, if the goal you want to achieve is to get them to understand and stop them from antagonizing us.

And that reporter just wants to run over the conversation. But I think it is better to be restrained but firm and try to get the message across. Reporters seem to try harder to interrupt when you give them the chance, and you're not clear.

Finally, I would have been overjoyed to see a reporter trying to interview people. As ridiculous as it may seem (especially if one has been fired), I think we have to make it sound like "family viewing" or else people aren't going to listen. People appeal to emotion, and we got to take advantage of that.

Totally agree

The average person would agree with everything the liberty-lovers say if they would just stop being so damn angry! When you shout and get all worked up, you frighten people away. Unlike the soft spoken politicians who make people feel "safe". Most people look at us a crazy conspiracy-theorist nut jobs, which we all know we generally are not. Our passion needs to be a little more controlled :-)

Let's put our anger and

Let's put our anger and passion in our messages! Let the sheeple think twice when they see our messages! Believe me, it's hard for me to control myself but I haven't gotten into any yelling matches with some of my relatives. If you're good at words, you will leave them speechless. My dad told my uncle the other day that he was a Shakespearian a-hole and my uncle couldn't find an answer. I congratulated my dad and told him that this is the way to do it. Creative messages can be our best friend in these tough times, if we put all our heads together, we can do a lot!

I watched this and got pissed off at the guy and the reporter

at him because he thinks lincoln was for freedom and liberty, and her cause she is a twit. If the two of them stopped fussing and just listen to each other they would realize that they are both the same, he is a big government lincoln worshiper and she is a big government obama worshiper. And they both don't have a clue.

Change from a fascist republican to a fascist democrat is not change.

"What was taken from the boomers, it ain't there, what was taken from the X'ers it ain't there, what is being taken from their great, great, great squared grandchildren it ain't there. Some generation just has to have the guts to quit passing it on." Me

Tea Party People--Folks that want to be on the winning team, and just so happen to think that the republicans have cuter helmets and jerseys. Don't matter if the two teams always tie to them, they KNOW they really won.

Yes, but most people do

Yes, but most people do actually believe the fable that Lincoln was for freeing the slaves and all that so it wasn't an unpersuasive argument even if it was erroneous.

I feel for that guy and his two-year old son

That guy is rightly upset that his two-year old son is in debt for the next 20 years because of this looting of the treasury, and then he has some idiot CNN reporter in his face because he dared to oppose the establishment. It is an insane world we are living in people. Honestly, death would be too good for these traitors.

Register as Republican and Vote for Ron Paul

It's not the treasury they're looting.

They're looting everyone who's holding dollars. There hasn't been any money in the treasury for many, many years.

-jcr

"The problem with trying to child-proof the world, is that it makes people neglect the far more important task of world-proofing the child." -- Hugh Daniel

Sound Bite

CNN only has time for sound bites and yes they do try to slant the news to make it look like its the Dems vs. Reps..

The reporter asked the lady,"what do you say if I say the politicians were elected?".

I would say our elected officials voted for the socialist bail-out against the wishes of their constituents or in other words against the consent of the governed. But, I have seen reporters in the MSM saying the people who by the thousands E-mailed their congressman and asked them to vote against the bail-outs suddenly had a change of heart and now about 70% of Americans favor the bail-outs. To tell this to the reporter would have taken too long for a sound bite and it's not what they want the people to hear. If the people hear over and over again on the news that people like the bail-outs eventually they will learn to like it too and go back to sleep. We can't have Americans getting all upset now. So, just tell us everything is going to be all right and everybdy loves the bail-outs.

So interesting to watch this develop

The federal government is just a great scam to transfer wealth from the majority to themselves and their cronies, like the bankers and Wall Street. Lots of people don't necessarily understand how this works, but they know this take over of most aspects of life by government is not good.

People are angry, and it is only going to get worse. Unemployment is double what the government reports. We are entering an economic dark age which will finally motivate people to act to throw off the burden of carrying government and special interests on their backs.

Watch these tea parties. If the next one on July 4th is larger and angrier, (in the hot weather), the potential for disruption is even greater.

I think all revolutions move through stages. The most peaceful part of the Revolution started with Dr. Paul's run for the Republican nomination. That didn't work, but he has moved to national prominence. We are in the peaceful protest stage now. Peaceful protests can easily give way to violence and counter violence, but not open revolution. Repression increases (look at the homeland security report warning about the "white-wing") as government becomes more fearful of the citizenry. What seems like a meaningless gesture on the part of states to pass resolutions to assert the 10th amendment, has already led the Texas governor to use the word, "succession". What starts small can become very large.

I think we are approaching 1776, give or take several years. I don't know if I should feel excited or depressed. I just hope the federal government does what the Soviet government did and that is just liquidate itself peacefully, but I fear that we more likely will end in a violent Civil War. The tea parties are a marker on the road toward that end.

Looks like many presumed CNN practiced objectivity...

Looks like many presumed CNN practiced objectivity, well let's hope that fallacy has been laid to rest now.

The MSM has an agenda and if by chance they had a rogue reporter who woke up one day and decided to have a moment of conscience and report the truth, they'd be looking for work the next day.

WOW!

That woman was amazing!
She spoke intelligently, made sense, and spoke with conviction without personally attacking the reporter. Good for her. If every American were like her, we'd be living in a very different country.
