that no naturally grown substance/plant should be criminalized. It is only when it is synthesized or processed that it should even be considered for criminalization. Regulation might still be required since I don't think anyone wants people under the influence driving big rigs or heavy equipment or selling it to our children.

Don't legalize, Decriminalize. Do not let the government control it.

Remember right around the time when the violence from prohibition was in full swing a law was passed that essentially outlawed fully automatic weapons(the weapon of choice by the gangsters)...now as violence rises on the border(although has been rampant for years in inner cities) due the the prohibitionists of new. The government now is trying to use this as an excuse to outlaw SEMI_auto firearms..If this isn't the best argument for "conservatives" to get behind legalization I don't know what is..OK how about this...The FBI criminal statistics say 80-90% of ALL violent crimes are related to the illicit drug trade. So before the gub-mint goes ahead and makes new laws restricting the natural born rights of defending ourselves ala Assault Weapons Ban as a reaction to the rising violence...Let's see ...reduce violence by 80-90% by legalizing our other natural born right to use whatever drugs we please, regulate it, tax it(<---an excise tax I can almost swallow) and let us law abiding keep our guns AND smoke a bong once and a while. It's so simple to me.
