Leadership
I believe it's time man learns to be lead by a higher principle than other men... the principle of Truth, Freedom, and Sympathy or Love.
This is what shall guide us, this is the heaven on earth Jesus spoke of, and when we realize that Truth is our leader, we will stop looking at men as messiah's and start following the principle emanating through them. So when the man is gone, the principle remains to guide future generations, much like mathematics.
Self governance guided by Truth is what shall lead the world. Enough "revolving" with revolutions, time to Evolve beyond that narrow sphere.
For Truth, and nothing but the Truth.
People still don't know about it....
due to the media black out.We are all well aware of this. There is a easy way to make people suspicious of why they hav'nt heard about it. It goes like this. Have you heard about 1207? No I havnt. It's the bill to audit the federal reserve bank. Now ask yourself one question friend. Why does it take an act of congress to audit the FED? Because it's a private bank, and it's a scam, Buddy. If you accentuate your words right it really gets em.
I am so lost in the politics of this;
please help me understand -- if Ron Paul is not going to vote for the current legislation because it adds so many harmful regulations to his 1207, does he want us to keep pushing this? How to be helpful and yet "do no harm?"
The question now is: Who is left? Those are the hardliners.
Finding the truth is the answer, and HR 1207 is the way of finding the truth.
Bump for the truth.
YES
Yes. Hopefully.
317 supporters and only 1 VETO to kill it
Do we really expect Obama to let this pass?
My understanding
is that if 290 or 2/3 majority actually vote for the bill then it is veto proof.
Isn't that if you get 2/3rds
Isn't that if you get 2/3rds in the Senate also?
I think
you're right.
if it is vetoed then 2/3 of
if it is vetoed then 2/3 of both houses of congress have to vote for it to become law
I hope that more sign on
after Mr. Bernanke's confirmation hearings. There has to be some accountability for the short comings of the Federal Reserve. The buck stops with the chairman.
To deny his re-appointment would send a clear message to the financial community that the actions taken by the Fed are unacceptable and to put others on notice that there are consequences to their actions, or lack there of. Hopefully this would force Congress to start taking their sworn duties seriously and to support a movement towards re-establishing adherence to the Constitution.

NY 23
I am a constituent of New York my Rep John McHugh [NY-23] signed HR 1207 on- 5/4/2009 but according to the following page and map, my district seat is empty. Congressman Owens is now my rep. Could someone please explain this? Please? I saw the page & I am floored. Thanks
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:HR1207_Cosponsors.svg
The quandary that is NY-23!?!
As the "author" of the page/map, I'm probably the best one to respond.
As of the date of the page (2009-10-27), NY-23 was unoccupied. The vacancy started 9/21 and ended 11/6.
With one representative having cosponsored HR 1207 but not being able to vote on it, it seems even less meaningful than having one of the nonvoting members of congress (DC, AS, GU, PR, MP, VI) cosponsor it (and I don't know if anyone is pursuing them). Yes, McHugh represented the district, but that's past tense. Tauscher didn't cosponsor, so no predicament there.
McHugh is still on the thomas.loc.gov cosponsors list, so I could color it solid red, but Owens hasn't cosponsored (yet!?) so it could also be transparent blue. I wonder what would happen if Owens cosponsored -- would it list NY-23 twice?
If anyone has advice...
Real test of Obama
If the president really does care he may just see that this bill somehow goes through.
This could be a real test of Obama and where he stands.
I'm sure we'll all be watching.

Wouldn't THAT be an Interesting Test

new finding on census worker alleged killed by anti fed zealot
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091125/ap_on_re_us/us_census_wo...
apparently he staged his death so it looked like a homicide, so that his son can collect money from insurance. talk about a total lack of principle. this also demonstrates a lack of evidence to support any claim that the anti fed movement has thus far espoused any violent act at all.

That's Barney's bad bill ?
Can we convince our HR1207 Cosponsors to reject the bad bill and just pass the one everyone can and has read!
With 43-26 supermajority the committee members can stop all work until HR 1207 is passed in its original form.
Dr. Paul mentioned on the squawk box that the regulation might be so bad that he may not be able to support it.
Can we support Dr. Paul and his original bill and reject more regulations that promise to stifle the economy even further?

Why does the federal reserve have a .gov website? I thought they were privately owned.

The Fed is the creation of congress. Two parts of it, the Board of Governors, and the Federal Open Market Committee, are federal government agencies. The other part, comprising the Federal Reserve Banks, is funded with stock purchases from private banks, but the stock vests almost none of the privileges generally associated with "ownership."
.gov?

Do you guys relize we are now part of history?
I am almost 100% positive that this thread that all of us posted on will be part of the ron paul libraty.
Lets say 60 years from today people will be going to museums that had miniature network systems of our time. You can log into the dailypaul for that day like the news paper slides and see the posts that we made in real time. Auto-refresh that is :-)
Make a movie that reads out everybodys posts and stuff from day 1 of the thread to this vote and so on...
Everyone should know, full evidence was presented that the 16th
amendment was NEVER ratified by 2/3rds of the States in 1914 at the Continental Congress 2009 the other day. Huge hugs and thank you to Joe Bannister who has so bravely and judiciously told his story for over 10 years suffered legal persecution by the IRS and won!!!
Therefore, all these 94 years they have been taking our ancestor's property by force without legal authority!!!!
Needless to say there needs to be some 'restitution' regarding our inheritance that was stolen.
This should be interesting, shouldn't it?

Where would the restitution come from?
The federal government is 12 trillion in debt.
Ron Paul's H.R.1207 Amendment passed 43 to 26.

Big Congratulations to all that helped push this bill.

I don't think we want the whole bill.
Ron Paul's Federal Reserve Transparency amendment is attached to a federal government power grab bill. We need to push for the bill to fail, and then pass HR 1207 by itself.

The Fed was initially formed by a congress that apparently wanted to hand off a part of the job that they { Congress } was supposed to do, when elected, according to the supreme "Law" of the land { The U.S. Constitution } regarding federal monetary policy.
If Ron Paul's Amendment fails, Mr Watt's proposal which in my opinion is simply a sham bill to confuse the issue will pass, leaving the Fed with a power that is unconstitutional and in the best interests of the international banking community, which is succeeding in draining the very wealth that we the people, the world over produce, and converting that wealth into the hands of a small group of untouchable oligarchs that apparently have only one purpose.
That purpose is to further control monetary policy and monetary totalitarianism, using strong arm tactics like the IRS, all over the world without any over site at all.
Do Americans want that for their kids and Grand kids ?
Ron Paul is the very first elected person in my lifetime { And I'm an old man } that has done his very best to support the framers of the Constitution and in what they wrote in Article I of the U.S. Constitution about money.
A side note opinion: Money must have been a very important issue even in the 1700's because Article I was given the priority of being the very first part of the Constitution.

I've been thinking on the repercussions of this a while. Once his incompetent blabbering self is out, who's next in the chair? It seems to me it's supposed to be based on experience but as always it gets manipulated. I wonder what the likelihood is of our good man RP moving on up in the ranks if some of these lunatics get voted out.
Leadership goes to the party in power
That is whey we need primary candidates in every distirct (6 so far plus Dr. Paul is what I counted) plus 33 Senators. (Schiff and Rand so far)
In Michigan, I would need to gather 1000 signatures to get on the Republican ballot for th 2010 primary. I think is is double for an independent.
I keep thinking of all Dr. Paul accomplished by losing the Republican Presidential Primary. It would take a whole lot of us to even come close.
I get signature for February or so campaign until the August primary, then go back to home, to all my books, to all my dirty laundry.
Those that win can vote for Dr. Paul to be Speaker of the House.

......The bill will also have to be reconciled with the House version. Rep. Barney Frank, chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, said he expects a floor vote in December on his proposal.
Like Dodd, Frank wants to strip the Fed of its consumer protection powers and create a separate agency dedicated to the mission. Both House and Senate bills also would limit the Fed's ability to provide emergency loans and create a council of regulators to monitor the risks posed by large financial firms.
But the House bill wouldn't consolidate federal banking supervision and would ultimately put the Fed in charge of enforcing new requirements for large and influential firms.
Frank said Dodd's announcement on Tuesday confirmed that "we are moving in the same direction" and will enact legislation soon.
